About a few minutes later, Leah was getting impatient until he finally sent her a message.

"I have admired you for a long time, Reaper." The text message wrote.

Leah stared at the message blankly.

She thought for a while before typing out, "In what way?"

It seemed like her message had taken him by surprise. After a while, he replied, "I admire the way you write. Judging by how you made your characters, I think you have a cute personality too." Leah stared at the message. It seemed like a formal compliment.

She lost her interest. However, she still replied, "Now that you've got my number, thank you again for not demanding to be paid. But then, that was your choice to make. I don't owe it to you for making small talk like this."

She sounded a little indifferent.

He replied after a while, "Are you in a bad mood?"

These words hit Leah straight in the heart.

He could already tell that she was in a bad mood through her text messages.

She replied, "It's not that. I just have a bad temper."

He sent a smiling emoji with a hand covering the mouth, and then added a sentence, "I can see it now. I just wanted to get to know you. Normal people would be afraid to approach you like this, but I'd like to think I'm unique."

Leah's mood became brighter upon seeing the text message.

She laughed and replied, "Sorry. I was really in a bad mood. But then, I don't really like chatting with other people too, especially men."

He asked again, "What happened? Also, why do you not like talking to men?"

Leah thought that she could just be honest as she didn't know him in real life.

She replied, "Men are the worst. They're heartless and not committed. They tend to go after those who they can never get, and then after they've won someone over, they'll look for another again." He didn't reply for a long while upon receiving this.

Leah laughed as she saw that he wasn't typing either.

She felt like she had gone crazy, especially after experiencing Hogan's incident and also Ernest's attitude on the same day. That was why she was this defensive against men.

They would probably get annoyed too if they heard Leah describing men in this way.

Leah laughed out loud at this thought. She didn't send him another message. She was waiting to see if she scared him off.

She suddenly anticipated seeing his reply.

She hoped that it would be as impressive as his writing content.

However, there was only dead silence from his end.

It took him a couple of minutes to finally be typing.

"Were you hurt by some men out there that left you traumatized?" He asked.

Leah laughed again and replied, "How did you replace out about that? You're right. Or to be specific, I'm disgusted at men."

He was silent again for a couple of minutes.

"Maybe those misunderstandings were due to miscommunication. You won't get to move on from them if you don't talk things out. I think maybe you should try to solve them so that you won't be traumatized anymore," he said.

Leah immediately denied, "It's not a

misunderstanding. Men are just jerks."

He replied almost right away, "Define 'jerk'."

Leah thought for a moment. She was picturing Hogan. She replied, "A jerk is a man who sleeps around and refuses to take responsibility. A jerk is a man who can never stay committed and cheats around. That's how I'd define a jerk."

The other side was completely silent.

Seeing that he did not reply, Leah asked after a while, "You're a man too, aren't you? I remember Victoria saying that you're a man. Do you mind if I ask, did I offend you with my words? Are you perhaps a jerk too?"

He didn't reply. It was more than ten minutes later that he sent a message saying, "I'm not a jerk. At least I don't see myself as a jerk."

Leah could tell that he was a serious man.

She found it interesting. With a laugh, she replied, "A jerk would never call themselves a jerk. I still replace you suspicious. Just look at how long it takes for you to reply, it makes it look like I was right about you." He immediately sent some shocked emojis and also emojis that looked like he felt wronged.

Leah snorted and replied, "Let's stop chatting then. I hate talking to jerks like you. I won't spend more time on you just because you said you admire me." "By the way, contact Victoria directly if you want your pay."

Although I love money, I don't love money from just anyone, especially from jerks like you."

Leah sent a long text message this time. He immediately replied, "You've misunderstood me. I'm not guilty. I just don't think of you as someone this harsh. Your writing is so deep and adorable. I feel like you should look deeper into your own problems too."

Leah thought about his words and then replied, "Do you think I'm not reading deep enough into it?"

He thought for a moment before replying, "Judging by your definition of a jerk, it does seem that way."

Leah wondered how was she wrong about Hogan?

Hogan was the perfect example of a jerk.

He forced himself on Rowane, got her pregnant, and even had her terminate the pregnancy. He even had the guts to confess his love for Leah on the next day. How was he not a jerk?

Leah replied with confidence, "I did run into a jerk today. He disgusts me so much that I think he should be put behind bars."

He replied in shock, "To jail?"

Leah replied, "Yes, he should be jailed."

He asked, "What did he do that made you want to send him to jail? Aren't you being too harsh?"

Leah replied, "Isn't this normal? Shouldn't I be harsh to a man who sleeps around? Why don't you ridicule him instead? Is it because you sleep around too?"

He asked, "Did you misunderstand something? Perhaps he was not even cheating on you."

Leah frowned. "Of course, men are all the same."
