True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1789
"It doesn't really matter anymore," Leah pursed her lips and let out a relieved smile. "It's all over."
Ernest frowned and stared at Leah. "Do you still want to break up with me?"
Leah lowered her gaze "Yes, I still insist on what we agreed on in London."
Ernest fell silent, and he swallowed as he looked at Leah. In the end, he said, "Leah, I'm really sorry if you're still bothered by what I did, but I don't want to break up with you."
"Ernest, what have you been doing for the past two months?" Leah asked softly.
Ernest was stunned, and he narrowed his eyes on Leah.
So, that was what she was upset about. Ernest pursed his lips and said, "I screwed up, and I get it if you're mad at me. In the end, I let you leave London alone, and that was a sh*tty move." There was a deep remorse in his tone. He felt really guilty.
Leah shook her head. "It wasn't a sh*tty move. Celeste is a taboo topic for you, and you think I don't trust you. Well, you're not wrong. Your reaction back then didn't incite a lot of trusting feelings inside of me, and I still don't trust you now when you say you want to get back together."
Ernest's expression was complicated, and he didn't know what to say. However, he would lose Leah completely if he didn't say anything.
Ernest panicked at the thought of this.
He stared at Leah and said softly, "Leah, why won't you trust me now?"
"Because two months is too long," Leah smiled. "It's going to be February soon. I feel like you'll be able to go through life smoothly with or without me. Of course, I can do the same."
Although Leah was quite upset without Ernest in her life, it wasn't unbearable. She didn't want to be so pathetic.
She loved fiercely, but she didn't want to lose herself in the process.
Ernest's heart ached because of Leah's words and he was very upset. Hence, he stayed silent as he gave Leah a meaningful look.
Then, his phone rang.
The ringtone interrupted their silence.
Ernest took a moment before he picked up the phone.
"Have you arrived?"
Leah couldn't hear what the caller said, but Ernest replied, "Come on upstairs. I'll open the door for you."
He got up and took a look at the security camera feed next to the door. Then, he pressed a button and the delivery man came upstairs.
Leah frowned. Ernest had really ordered takeout for her. "Ernest, just go. Take your luggage and your food with you."
Ernest stiffened, and his back was to Leah. He did not turn back to look at her as if he hadn't heard her at all.
After a while, someone knocked on the door.
Ernest opened the door. It seemed like he had bought a lot of food.
He brought it inside and put it on the porch.
Leah became anxious at the sight of Ernest refusing to leave. Then, she stood up and walked towards the door, saying, "Get out, Ernest. Stop interfering in my life." However, Ernest suddenly turned around and hugged Leah.
The familiar scent filled Leah's nostrils, and she missed it terribly.
She felt very upset that Ernest had come all this way to ask her to get back together.
She felt that the problem had yet to be truly resolved.
What she wanted was not what he wanted.
They didn't communicate very well, and it seemed hard for them to do so either.
He hadn't asked to get back together for two months. Leah was sobered as she thought of this, and she pushed Ernest away.
However, Ernest looked at Leah in his arms and raised his eyebrows. He didn't expect Leah to push him away.
"Leah, I'm not leaving." With that, Ernest immediately dashed Leah's hopes.
Leah frowned and her expression was one of displeasure. Hence, she made it very clear to Ernest with her eyes.
Ernest smiled faintly at her as he kept hugging Leah. It had been so long since he last hugged her.
He said, "Don't push me. I won't break up with you either. I know you hate me, and I know I didn't do well enough as your boyfriend. However, I will make sure I achieve your requirements next time." Leah replied coldly, "I don't have any requirements.
The only thing I want is for you to hurry up and leave." "If I leave now, you'll be on your guard if I come again. I won't leave until you get back together with me." Ernest announced his intentions to Leah firmly. Leah furrowed her brows as she looked up at him. His eyes were dark, and there were a lot of emotions flickering through them.
There was worry, panic and helplessness.
Ernest would have never had this kind of expression in the past.
Leah's heart ached.
Even if she was hurt very badly, she didn't want him to have this expression on his face.
She sighed and said, "Ernest, you can tell me if you're mad that I suggested the breakup. Just take it as if you dumped me, I'm fine with that. Don't dwell on who broke up with who, okay? I just want you to calm down."
Ernest tightened his hold on Leah, pulling her closer to his body.
His hand was also on Leah's rear end.
Leah exclaimed, "Ernest!"
Ernest touched it with a purpose. He was trying to replace out how long ago did Leah terminate the pregnancy.
Leah was angered by Ernest trying to take advantage of her, and she reached out to stop him.
However, Ernest said in a doting tone, "Don't move, Leah. Let me check on something."
"What are you checking?" Leah asked in frustration as she blushed. She was extremely embarrassed.
They were lovers in the past, so intimacy was normal for them. However, they were no longer together, so intimate actions like this just made Leah feel awkward.
She hadn't gotten over it yet.
Leah was even more unsettled as Ernest kept touching her.
Ernest was relieved that Leah wasn't wearing a pad. She was safe now, and she wouldn't bleed because of her agitation.
"Ernest Jones!" Leah shouted as she stopped him from going any further.
However, Ernest grabbed her by the waist and kissed her.
He didn't give Leah a chance to speak, and he kissed her fiercely.
Leah felt that she'd underestimated how bold Ernest could be.
He'd vowed never to see her again after they broke up, but what did he end up doing?
He still came to look for her after the breakup.
"Mmmph! Ernest! What the hell? Mmph! You said you'd- mmph- never see me again after we broke up. What are you doing?" Leah tried her best to refuse Ernest,
"I regret it. I can't live without you. Please don't take what I said to heart." Ernest pleaded with Leah.
He then kissed Leah once again, giving her no room to breathe.
Their lips were red and swollen.
His breathing seemed to have quickened as well.
Ernest held Leah's waist, and his fingers touched her skin. His breath was hot on Leah's face.
Their breaths mingled, and the atmosphere was charged with electricity.
Ernest stroked her lower abdomen before touching her lips and whispering, "Did it hurt?"
Leah paused as she assumed that Ernest was talking about her mouth. Of course it hurt! Her lips were swollen.
She immediately replied, "Of course it hurts, Ernest. Are you trying to kill me?"
Ernest felt a stab in his chest when he heard that.
"I'm sorry," He pressed his forehead to Leah's and apologized. "It's all my fault."
