True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1790
"Don't apologize to me. I won't forgive you even if you do." Leah's tone softened considerably, and she sounded like she wanted to cry.
Ernest was incredibly upset. He was full of guilt and struggle whenever he thought of Leah ending her pregnancy.
"I know that you don't want to forgive me, and I know that you're really mad. It's all my fault. You can be mad at me, but don't be so mad until you hurt yourself." Ernest continued to hold Leah in his arms, and his tone was full of regret.
Leah was confused.
"You don't have to talk to me like this. Can't you just act normally?" Leah asked.
However, Ernest completely ignored Leah and continued, "I'll change, Leah. I'll never agree to a breakup, so you're still my girlfriend. You're the only one for me."
Ernest then raised Leah's chin so that she was looking at him. Then, he said, "You will be the only woman I love for the rest of my life. There won't be anyone else for me."
He looked at Leah so gently as if she was the only woman in the world.
Leah was almost swayed by his words, but she came back to her senses and said, "Who knows if you're telling the truth? Why should I believe you? Your words don't match your actions, and I don't even have a say in anything! You're so unreasonable, Ernest!"
Leah refused to see him, and she tried her best to rid herself of the negative emotions after their breakup.
Just as she was feeling better, he waltzed back into her life.
She could never be firm with him, and plus, he was doing this on purpose.
"It's all my f*cking fault. Can you give me another chance please? Can we start over, Leah? You can put me through a trial period too." His tone was very gentle, and he looked straight into her eyes, In fact, Leah's heart had already softened since the moment he held her.
She yearned for Ernest's strong embrace. However, she wasn't sure if he was for real or not.
Perhaps he was dissatisfied at the way things ended.
Leah looked at Ernest for a moment and said, "Then, why have you come to me now? There must be a reason right?"
Leah felt that it was impossible for Ernest to do this on a whim.
She felt that he may have done this after he saw her together with the monitor on the video call.
Oh, so he was jealous.
Once a man was jealous, he would automatically turn possessive.
In turn, that would make him seem much more manly.
Ernest's eyes narrowed, and he looked at Leah and said, "Were you afraid when you went to the hospital alone?"
"What? Hospital? Alone? When did I ever go to the hospital on my own? What do you mean?" Leah frowned, very confused by his question.
Ernest assumed that Leah did not want to mention those painful things, so he did not press the issue. He just said, "Leah, it will never happen again. I promise I will never bring you such pain, nor will I ever let you go to the hospital alone again."
Leah gave Ernest an incredulous look and she felt that he was implying that she'd gone through something. Then, she asked, "You said that I was afraid when you went to the hospital, but why? Who told you I went to the hospital?"
Ernest's gaze became even gentler, and he hugged Leah tighter. Then, he whispered, "Never again, Leah."
Never again? Leah found it all very strange.
"Leah, I don't deserve to be your man. I'm so sorry, and I regret everything that happened. If I could do it all over again, I would have never let you leave London or hurt you."
"Ernest, what you said really makes me a bit puzzled. Can you just say what you mean?" Leah was utterly confused.
Ernest kissed Leah once again before he replied, "If I wasn't such a d*ck, maybe we would still have a kid, right?"
Shock flashed across Leah's face and she looked at Ernest in absolute disbelief.
After a long time, Leah finally spoke, "Ernest, did you think that I was pregnant?" Ernest raised his head and looked at her. "I know that it must have hurt a lot."
Leah barked out a laugh. "What the hell do you mean?"
"Weren't you pregnant? Didn't you choose to end the pregnancy?"
When he said this, there was a flash of pain and regret in Ernest's eyes. If he had been a better man, the child would still be with them today.
Leah's jaw dropped. She gave Ernest a look before she pushed him away and said, "I wasn't pregnant. Where the hell did you hear that from? Either way, what I want to say is that I was never pregnant. It's all a misunderstanding."
Ernest frowned as he felt that Leah was covering up the truth.
She said it herself yesterday, so why did she deny it?
Was she too disappointed in Ernest to admit it?
Ernest wouldn't believe Leah's denial either as he was sure that she had terminated her pregnancy.
Therefore, he felt even more guilty.
Leah was baffled at Ernest's assumptions.
From the moment he entered her room, the expression on his face caused her to be at a loss.
Where did he hear about this?
It was simply impossible. Leah had been very careful with contraceptives every time they were together. Was Ernest delusional?
"Hey, I'm seriously not pregnant." Leah could tell that Ernest was convinced she was, so she reaffirmed it for him one more time.
"You weren't?" Ernest frowned as he started to believe what she said.
Leah nodded. "Yeah, I wasn't. If you're feeling guilty because of this, then it really is all for nothing. I was never pregnant, and I never ended any pregnancy."
Ernest looked at Leah carefully and asked, "Really? Are you lying to me?"
"How many times do I have to say it before you believe me?" Leah became very annoyed and said, "Even if I did have a child, I'm not going to get rid of it! It's an innocent human life! I'll keep it regardless of whether you want to take responsibility or not."
Ernest breathed a sigh of relief, grabbed Leah's hand, and asked as if he had been relieved of a heavy burden, "Really?"
"Yes, I wasn't pregnant at all." Leah replied seriously.
Ernest also nodded and let out a sigh of relief. "Great, that's great. I was scared to death, Leah."
Leah frowned when she saw Ernest's face light up with delight. "Since it's all a misunderstanding, there's no need for you to worry about me. Just leave, please."
"Leave?" He was stunned. "Haven't we made up?"
Leah asked in reply, "When did I agree to that?" Ernest gave Leah a serious look. "Regardless of that, I want to make up with you. I also want to say that we will never break up again."
Leah pouted and said, "Don't you like Celeste? I'm actually a downgrade compared to her, so you'd better think it through."
