Gary suspected that Simon was actually ill.

Perhaps he was lacking self-control.

He reminded him of it.

Ernest also felt it.

Those who had been in jail for too long perhaps had forgotten what the outside world was like.

Perhaps he was already out of tune with the world long ago.

Looking at Simon, Ernest also said, "Why are you being like this? You were beaten up all this while for being so agitated like this. Do you want to be beaten up again?"

At that time, Heinz's phone rang.

Simon's attention was diverted when he heard the ringtone. It looked as if he had suddenly realized something.

His expression was no longer that scary.

Heinz glanced at him and picked up the call.

They could only hear Heinz saying over the phone, but not what the other end was saying. "Sure, send her in."

Heinz hung up the phone and smiled at Simon, saying, "I think you should've already told Grace everything you wanted to say. Why don't you settle your issues with Marry first? She's here already. Perhaps we should give you two some time alone to properly catch up and talk about all the good and bad things that had over these years."

Heinz smiled faintly and looked at his sons as he said, "Let's go, and let's give your uncle and aunt some time alone to catch up."

Simon heard that Marry was coming.

Simon's face fell all of a sudden.

He turned a little pale.

Why was Marry there?

Marry hadn't been in contact with him for so long.

They were basically strangers for the past few years, without any interaction at all.

Although they were still legally married, they were no longer acting like any normal husband and wife.

They never met up, and they weren't even keeping in contact through the phone.

He heard that Marry was released from jail and took care of his parents' funeral on his behalf when his parents passed away.

Simon also had mixed feelings when he heard about that from his relatives.

He remembered that he and Marry were sent to jail around the same time back then.

Yet, their sentences were different.

Marry spent many years in jail, but his sentence was still slightly longer than hers. Most of their youthful years had been spent in jail.

Simon couldn't help but to sigh at the thought. They were once the most envied couple, yet that was how they ended up to be.

Perhaps they could've been living a great life if they weren't sentenced to prison. However, that was the reality, and it couldn't be rewritten. They could never turn back time either.

Simon was caught off guard to learn of Marry's arrival. He never expected to see her there.

His heart was trembling to see her standing in front of him as she entered the room. She still had the same slender figure as before. She was still so beautiful.

Her skin was fair then.

She looked really youthful, and looked much younger than him.

Had she been living a good life in prison?

Simon stared blankly at the door as she walked in.

She dressed up fashionably.

She was wearing a wool coat on the outside, hiding her maxi dress inside, with a scarf around her neck. She was also in her high heels. She looked amazing. Marry walked in and stared at Simon indifferently and calmly, without saying anything.

The two of them were in silence as they looked at each other, and even though no words were spoken, there were a lot of messages deep in their gazes. Simon seemed to be searching for words to say.

It was too sudden that he suddenly met her again, so he couldn't replace the words to say.

In the end, he was the first one to speak. "Marry, it has been a while."

As he spoke, Marry smiled. "That's right. It has been a while, Simon."

The atmosphere became awkward again without words after they greeted each other.

Marry was staring coldly at him. Even though her lips were curled, it wasn't a genuine smile.

This man who was standing before her was still her husband.

Regardless of what happened back then and how bad it got, they still didn't get a divorce in the end. They were all sent to prison.

Simon hadn't looked for her after he was released from jail, and it had been several years.

Marry was also able to keep her cool.

Since he didn't look for her, she would surely not take the initiative to look for him either.

She had done a lot of things and had paid a great price because of him over all those years.

After so many things that she had done, he was yet to respect her. Moreover, he even betrayed their marriage. Marry had her heart broken over that.

She should start moving on.

She learned something from her time in jail.

She should not be so persistent regarding Grace's matter. Whether Grace was living a happy life or not had nothing to do with her, and she should only focus on enjoying her own life.

Hence, Marry decided to quit this after she was released from jail.

She took the shares Alice and Grace gave her.

After all, she needed money to live, and she was used to being pampered. She had never suffered in her days with the Smith family, yet it was different in jail. She refused to endure that kind of hardship ever again.

Her only goal was to start enjoying her life and not to live like that anymore.

She had suffered enough in jail, and she never wanted to suffer like that again.

She settled with the money and assets she was given, as she was well aware that she could not live a hard life.

However, she had never expected Heinz to pick her up and bring her to Simon then.

She was then staring at the man whom she used to love deeply, with mixed emotions. She was very upset.

He didn't even look for her even though she had waited for so long.

He didn't apologize either. Did he not think of seeing her at all after being released from jail?

Marry was annoyed and infuriated at that realization.

If it was before she went to jail and if she still had the same temperament, Marry would have looked for him immediately after he was released and have questioned him the reason for not contacting her. However, she was no longer as impulsive like how she was back then after serving her sentence.

She had learned how to restrain her anger then.

She also learned what to say and what not to say.

Although he was her husband, however, there was no longer any affection between them then.

Ever since Simon cheated on her, the affection between them was already long gone. Besides, she knew that Simon was never willing to marry her because the one he loved was Grace instead. Marry was the one who played tricks and misled Simon to her, from Grace. She was the one who made their relationship happen.

Yet, they didn't have a happy ending.

She knew that she was the one who forced things to happen.

When things were forced, sometimes they just wouldn't end up how you wanted it to be.

As she thought about it then, she was the one to be blamed for.

Thus, Marry started facing the reality instead of forcing things, and also to stop herself from feeling so angry about it.

She never reached out to Simon, but they met again then.

Marry was somehow grateful that Heinz arranged that, so that she wouldn't have to look for Simon herself. Her wish had somehow been granted.

Heinz indirectly helped her to preserve her last bit of dignity in the matter.

Marry said faintly as she looked at Simon, "I can't believe that you are still so hung up over this after so many years. We already ended up in jail the last time you decided to mess with their lives, and you are the one who put me in jail for so many years as well. Aren't you tired of this?"

Simon was taken aback as he was a little shocked. He stared at her in disbelief, as if he couldn't believe that it was the same Marry he used to know.

Back then, Marry was even more stubborn and obsessed with the matter than he was.

She was the one that was always trying to ruin things for Grace, as she was unwilling to accept that Grace was living a happy life.

Why was she acting so differently then?

He was caught off guard with her changes.

Simon couldn't believe what she just said.

"Why can't you just live your life instead? You even hinted that it was from Grace's relative while you publish the news. Are you trying to frame me for this?" Marry stared straight at Simon without blinking at all, as if she was trying to read through him.

Simon's face fell as she spoke. He looked a little embarrassed.

He cleared his throat and said, "I didn't mean that.

You misunderstood me."

"Are you the relative then?" Marry asked.
