Sylvia was even more excited after getting a positive answer. She was looking forward to it.

The finals would be starting in two weeks. How should she start aiming for the first place?

None of this could work if Sebastian was blocking her path. It was much easier to target Sebastian than to cram her studies in two weeks time anyway.

However, it wasn't that easy to conquer Sebastian.

Sylvia was a little troubled at this.

However, she could always look for Gary and Celeste's help since they were both aces in their studies.

That couldn't work either. She was staying in the dorms.

What should she do?

Grace did tell her that she could go back home whenever she wanted to.

Sylvia was distracted by her thoughts.

Kendrix took another glance at her before returning to his books again. He was fast this time at picking the books he wanted. He then said to Sylvia, "I'm done here. Let's go." Sylvia nodded immediately and followed him to the counter.

Sylvia took out her phone faster than Kendrix as she said, "Mr. Trevino, let me pay for this."

Kendrix frowned slightly. Before she could key in her passcode, he took her phone away. He then paid for the two of them with his own phone.

"Mr. Trevino," Sylvia called out. "I will transfer the money back to you. I should pay for it on my own."

"There's no need for that. Just treat it as my gift to you," Kendrix said, "I'm looking forward to seeing you rank first this time."

Sylvia stared blankly at him before smiling. "Sure."

Kendrix nodded.

He then handed her the two bags as they walked out of the shop.

Sylvia froze for a moment before accepting the gift.

She carried both of their books.

It was a little heavy.

"Mr. Trevino, I can't carry these." Sylvia was wondering why Kendrix didn't offer to carry the bags instead.

Kendrix seemed to have read her mind as he said, "I paid for them, so you should carry it."

Sylvia was dumbfounded.

Fine. She was willing to do it on his behalf anyway.

Thus, Kendrix was walking ahead with his hands in his pockets, looking casual and even smiling faintly.

Meanwhile, the young and pretty Sylvia was walking behind carrying two heavy bags with her, looking all exhausted yet happy about it.

Heinz's subordinates immediately sent him a photo of this scene.

After seeing the photo, Heinz said to Grace, "What a coincidence! Gary and Celeste actually ran into Sylvia and Mr. Trevino. This guy seems decent."

Grace also looked at that photo. It was obviously taken from a distance.

They would probably be discovered if they stayed too close to them.

Heinz looked at the photos sent to him, including the ones with Gary and Kendrix. They seemed tense with each other.

Heinz burst into laughter. "Gary probably approached him after spotting him and Sylvia in the book store."

However, Grace was a little worried. "Gary won't hurt that guy's pride with his sharp tongue again, will he?"

"Given the fact that Kendrix is a genius, I doubt he would take Gary's words to heart," Heinz analyzed, "I'm curious to know what Gary said to him. Look at their expressions." Grace looked at him helplessly and said, "It seems like they were challenging each other, and Gary was at a disadvantage at first before he got the upper hand."

She was his mother after all.

Heinz nodded. "You're right."

"Something might have happened," Grace said, "Sylvia was with Celeste for a while before joining them. And they seemed peaceful together."

"She was then left alone with Kendrix." Heinz stared at the photos. "At first, I thought Gary would insist on bringing Sylvia back with him. Yet, he left Sylvia behind and walked away with Celeste." "You should stop spying on them." Grace felt that he was being too nosy.

However, as soon as Heinz flipped to the next photo, he shouted, "What is this? Why is he looking at Sylvia like this?"

Grace looked over and was startled too.

She was a little taken aback.

In that photo, Kendrix and Sylvia's gazes met. At first glance, it was like a movie scene.

Kendrix was standing very close to Sylvia. They looked like a couple.

She was gazing affectionately at him. And it was the same for him too.

Grace was a little taken aback to see this.

Heinz was even more shocked that he burst into a rage.

He placed his phone away and started walking around. "I knew something was going on. He must have taken advantage of our daughter. She's still a minor!"

Grace was shocked and quickly said, "Don't make any assumptions."

"How can I not assume anything when he's staring at our daughter like that? I can see the lust in his eyes. Can't you see it?" Heinz was agitated.

Grace was speechless too. She controlled her breathing and said, "Why are you making it sound so horrible? That's Kendrix we are talking about. Even if it does seem like he has feelings for her, maybe it's due to the angle this picture was taken instead.

It appeared after Gary and Celeste ran into them. I believe there's nothing we should worry about."

Hearing this, Heinz was a little hesitant.

He checked the time and nodded. "Well, it did seem like it was taken after Celeste and Gary walked away. I know my men well enough. They'd sent me the photos right after."

Grace said, "In that case, it should be an angle problem. We see it in the movies, don't we?"

Heinz quickly denied, "But then, I believe in what you said earlier. He must be having feelings for Sylvia."

"Based on this photo alone?" Grace couldn't help but refute. She somehow wanted to defend Kendrix too.

After meeting Kendrix that morning, she could tell that he was a decent man, at least not horrible to this extent.

However, she was a little concerned about this photo.

Although she was concerned, she was still calmer than Heinz.

She could still be rational about this.

She had to keep Heinz calm first.

It might seem like he was overreacting, but Heinz couldn't hold back his emotions either. "No, I have to ask them what is going on." Grace immediately stopped him. "Can you calm down?"

"Sylvia is a minor. How can I not be angry with this?" Heinz looked at her. "I just don't want anyone taking advantage of her."

"There's nothing you can do if she's willing to let someone take advantage of her." Grace pulled his arm. "You should stay away from this. Let me talk to Gary first." Hearing this, Heinz calmed down. He decided to ask for Gary and Celeste's opinion like what Grace suggested.

"I'll call Gary," Heinz said.

"Well talk about it when they come back," Grace said, "Don't act on your impulse. You used to be able to keep your calm, didn't you?"

"I can't be calm when it's about our children, especially Sylvia." Heinz just couldn't ignore his daughter's matters.

Grace knew that he would insist on making that call. Thus, she could only do it herself.

After thinking for a while, she decided to make the phone call.

She took out her phone and called Gary.

The call was quickly answered.

"Mom, what's the matter?" Gary asked.
