Early the next morning, Gary made a copy of his notes for Sylvia and was going to send it to school. After having breakfast with Celeste, they went to Sylvia's school together.

Sylvia's school was the same school Gary and Celeste graduated from. It was also the best high school in the Northern City.

Returning to a familiar place, Gary asked right away, "How do you feel?"

"What do you mean?" Celeste asked. She then noticed that he was staring at her. She blushed.

"About this place, of course. We used to study here, and this was also where our story started," Gary said.

Celeste immediately recalled what Gary did to her when she was still 16 right before he left her.

That kiss.

That thrilling first kiss of hers that was just too memorable.

Her cheeks turned red again.

Noticing her reaction, Gary could roughly figure out what she was thinking.

Gary smiled and leaned closer. "To be honest, even I was having doubts about my plan back then. Do you think Kendrix will be in the same situation as me too? Would he feel regretful later on with the plans that he made now?"

"Didn't you always think that you will never make a wrong decision?" Celeste got a little angry as she recalled how he insisted on them studying in separate schools.

"That's why I believe we should confess our feelings earlier so that we won't regret it later on," Gary replied.

Celeste's anger was much relieved as he said that.

She sighed helplessly. "Perhaps if we chose to go to the same school at that time, we might not even end up together. There might be different things that would be happening altogether." Celeste looked into Gary's eyes.

He narrowed his eyes and suddenly leaned closer. His lips were almost right on top of hers. "What kind of assumptions are these? Do you think I will let that happen?"

Celeste was startled.

Gary raised his eyebrows again. Celeste could even feel his hot breath on her face.

Celeste was a little uneasy at such close distance.

She looked away and avoided his gaze.

Gary continued to lean his handsome face closer to Celeste's cheek.

He said in Celeste's ear word by word, "You're the first girl who took my breath away. I would never let you slip away from me."

Celeste raised her head in astonishment and her lips accidentally brushed Gary's. In that split second, they started kissing passionately in the car.

Gary didn't hold back at all. Perhaps it was because of the fact that they were back at the place where he first fell for her, he got emotional too and just couldn't restrain his desire for Celeste then. They kissed again and again.

Celeste was getting breathless. She gently pushed him away. "Stop it. We're at school now."

Celeste was still rational.

Gary could only back away a little. He gazed longingly at Celeste.

"What are you afraid of? The students and teachers are all in their classes. No one will notice us. It's rare that we got to come here on leisure." Gary made it sound reasonable to make out anywhere they wanted.

Celeste was not as shameless as he was, she was a girl after all. She reminded him coyly, "Don't forget why we're here today!"

Gary shrugged. "I know I'm sending my notes to her. At the same time, let's see if there's anything interesting going on."

"It's good that you still remember. Again, this is a high school, not a college campus. Let's not be a bad influence to these kids," Celeste reminded him again.

"They're already in their classes. Don't worry," Gary said.

They were at the open-air parking lot in the high school.

It was quiet as no one else was around.

Most of them were already in their classes at that hour, so there would rarely be anyone around in the campus then.

"Still, you'd better restrain yourself. I don't want to embarrass myself in front of them." Celeste touched her slightly swollen lips.

Gary's gaze became deeper again.

He reached out his hand to hold Celeste's. He was about to do something again when Celeste stopped him.

"I told you to stop this." Celeste knew he was up to it again, so she was getting ready to get off the car.

She opened the door and jumped out of the car.

Gary sighed helplessly seeing her getting off the car so hurriedly. "Why are you getting out of the car so hurriedly? It's still too early." "Just come down and walk around with me," Celeste said.

"Now that you've said that, if I refuse to join you, I'd be less of a gentleman, wouldn't I?" Gary asked.

He also got out of the car and wrapped a scarf around Celeste's neck. He then took her hand and they walked leisurely around the school.

It made them feel a little sentimental to be able to be back at their high school, and to be walking around in school hand in hand.

Back when they were still studying, they couldn't make it that obvious in school even if they wanted to hold hands.

However, as they were free from the school rules then, they could finally enjoy that and do as they wished.

It was a rather strange feeling.

The wind was a little cold. Celeste shivered.

Gary tightened his grasp on her tiny hand, trying to keep her warm through the heat of his palm.

They continued walking around hand in hand with their backs facing the sun, their shadows clearly painted in the campus.

Celeste felt warm at the sight of their shadows which were so close to each other, walking hand in hand together.

Ever since she left for Boston for her studies till then, Gary had been so sweet and caring towards her whenever they got to spend time together.

Sometimes she would even feel it a little surreal to be so happy and to be receiving his loving care.

She would even start to wonder if she could live without him after being so happily in love.

"What are you thinking about? Is it something bad? You have been looking at our shadows so attentively." Gary shook her hand gently.

He would notice right away whenever Celeste was lost in her thoughts.

He realized he was much more observant than before. He tended to notice the details that he would normally miss out before then.

He also started learning about the little habits of Celeste's. He knew that she was thinking about something bad by seeing that her eyes were wandering around.

Celeste smiled sheepishly as she came back to her senses once he said that.

"What distracted you this much?" Gary asked.

"Nothing." Celeste shook her head. "I'm just so happy right now that I start to fear I might lose this someday."

Gary's eyes dimmed a little. "You won't lose me, unless I die."

"Don't say that." Celeste immediately reached out to cover his mouth. "I don't want to hear you saying that. I won't think of it either. We will always be together."

Upon hearing that, Gary finally smiled. "That's right."

Celeste smiled awkwardly. It was embarrassing that she would often be affected by her own insecurities.

They continued walking around the campus holding hands.

"Let's go to the field. I remember you'd always sit on the podium alone staring out at the scenery. I always wondered what you were thinking. You were always in a daze." Celeste suggested.

"What do you think I was thinking back then sitting on the podium?" Gary smiled mysteriously.

"How would I know? I'm curious too. That's why I asked." Celeste chuckled as she shook her head.

"At that time, I was wondering if I should start a relationship at 16 years old, or if I should wait until I'm an adult. I didn't want the adults to think that it was just some puppy love, because I knew how I felt for you. That's why I was always in deep thoughts, feeling contradicted."

Gary smiled at Celeste as he explained.

Celeste was startled. She couldn't believe what she just heard.

"Is that so? Don't try to fool me." Celeste refused to believe that Gary was already thinking of that at that time.

After all, they were only 16 years old at that time.

"I'd never lie to you," Gary said with a deep tone and a determined expression.

Celeste stared blankly at him.

She saw the sincerity in his eyes.

Celeste could only believe in his words.

Gary smiled at her. "Anyway, I think I saw Kendrix jogging on the field. Fate is a funny thing, isn't it? We were just about to take a walk around here, yet we ran into Sylvia's crush. I believe Kendrix is fated to join our family someday."
