Gary was startled. It felt like he brought trouble upon himself.

When he hesitated, Celeste continued to ask right away, "Or, do you intend to do something bad? Or perhaps, have you done something bad already, and need me to forgive you?"

Her question caused Gary's heart to skip a beat. He felt a shiver run down his spine, and a sense of guilt washed over him too.

It was said that a man should never do a wrong thing. As he was being questioned by Celeste then, he felt so guilty that he dared not look at her.

On the contrary, Celeste was very calm. She did not look away. She just continued to stare at Gary, awaiting his answer.

Upon being stared at, Gary could not help but to smile and say, "I am afraid that I may have really hurt you by making some careless mistakes, but I did not do it on purpose."

"I think that if you did not do it on purpose, it can still be forgiven," Celeste said, "Of course, it still depends on what the mistake is."

Just as Gary was about to heave a sigh of relief, he heard the latter part of Celeste's answer, and his heart jumped to his throat. He could not calm himself down for a long, long time. That was because he felt that the mistake he had made was one that Celeste would never forgive.

It was difficult for him to even forgive himself, let alone Celeste.

Therefore, Gary still could not be at ease.

He looked at Celeste and said, "Yes, if I did something truly terrible, I won't be able to bring myself to ask for your forgiveness either."

After that, Gary lowered his eyes. He dared not look into Celeste's eyes for a long, long time.

Celeste knew what Gary was referring to.

One should not do unto others as one would have them done unto you. He understood that well.

"What's wrong with you?" Celeste had no choice but to continue to ask.

In truth, she really wanted Gary to directly tell her everything, as it might be much better than having her question for the truth herself.

However, Gary only smiled as he shook his head and said, "No, it's nothing. Sometimes, I just don't have any confidence in myself." "You don't look like a person who lacks confidence," Celeste told him directly, "To me, you have always been a confident person."

"That's the problem with someone like me. I would think too highly of myself at times and end up in big trouble. A lot of people have told me this." Gary laughed bitterly, as if he was mocking himself. He had always been an arrogant person, and a lot of people told him that too, but he had never taken it seriously before.

As a result of that, he suffered a huge loss then. To him, it was extremely ironic.

Celeste stared at him gently and seriously. She knew exactly what he meant by that.

It seemed like Janice really thought it through. Her scheme was indeed powerful, and it really affected Gary's mood.

Celeste looked at the man who had always been confident, and how he had suddenly turned depressed and frustrated, she felt a touch of sadness in her heart.

She lowered her eyes and hid her expressions. Her voice was gentle as she said, "Even though I don't know what happened to make you think that way, I still want to tell you that if you wish to share the burden with me, you can always tell me your problems. I am not as weak as you think I am."

Gary nodded, he did not really understand what Celeste meant by that, he only smiled and said, "Okay, Celeste, I will let you know if I really need an

IV ear.

"Okay, then I will get up first." Celeste realized that Gary had no intentions on going on with the topic, so she did not pursue the matter further. She decided to get up and wash herself up first. After she got out of bed, Celeste went to the bathroom and stood in front of the mirror, she looked at her reflection in the mirror rather calmly.

He probably did not see the change in her.

Celeste could not help but to sigh.

Oh well, since he did not want to say it, she could only wait until he decided to say it himself.

Celeste briefly cleaned herself up and washed her face. She then came out of the bathroom and saw Gary standing in front of the window. He was watching the night scene outside quietly. He seemed really sad, and she didn't know what was on his mind.

He had a tall and strong build, and when she looked at him, it felt like he was a character in a painting. He stood on the same spot and did not move at all.

A glint of entangled emotions flashed across Celeste's eyes, it made her feel very upset.

Celeste knew very well how conflicted Gary must be feeling right then.

She was also well aware of how sad Gary was.

Some things were not as simple as they thought.

She pretended to be calm and walked over to him. "What are you looking at? You are as still as a statue when you stare at the darkness outside the window. What's there to see? Or, is there something you want to tell me, but you can't, so you are keeping it in your heart?"

Gary immediately looked towards Celeste and smiled as he came back to his senses. "No, I am fine."

"Oh." Celeste looked at him, he was unwilling to say anything, so she did not force him. "Well, are you hungry? Shall we go down and eat?"

As she spoke, she walked over and wrapped her arms around his. She was extremely proactive.

Gary was stunned. It seemed like he did not expect Celeste to take the initiative to hold him like that. She was not the type who would usually initiate that kind of intimacy.

"Dinner starts at seven." Gary looked at his watch and said, "There is still ten minutes left. Why don't we go down later? Besides, if we go down now, we'd still have to wait. We might even be teased by Maria. She probably knows what we did and

she had been teasing me."

Celeste was stunned and her face turned red right away. She lowered her eyes and said, "Maria likes to joke, and her jokes are a little explicit."

"She has changed a lot. Back then, she was quite an annoying girl. Now, she has turned out to be extremely adorable, especially after she got into a relationship with Liam. She is already a lovable girl," Gary said with a myriad of emotions, "When she was young, she was quite unreasonable, and she gave Ernest and I a lot of headaches. Every time we gather, we would try our best to avoid her."

"Really?" Celeste was very surprised. "I did not expect Maria to be so naughty as a child. I thought that she has always been lovable. At least, that was how I felt when I got to know her.

In my eyes, Maria is a kind girl. She is quite understanding and enthusiastic. She is also helpful, lively, lovely, and generous."

"That is because you don't understand her. Now, she has indeed changed for the better." Gary smiled.

He was very pleased to be able to change the subject, as he did not want to be entangled by his own problems anymore.

He also felt a little doubtful. How did Celeste

suddenly turn out to be so keen and sharp? Perhaps she had always been a sensitive girl.

"Let's go." Celeste still wanted to go downstairs earlier. "I am not afraid of being teased by Maria. She has to leave for the production crew

tonight We will only meet aftene

long period of time. Let's goo downstairs and wait for her."

"Are you sure?" Gary asked.

"Of course." She nodded, she said it in a serious attitude.

"Okay, let's go." The two opened the door and walked out hand in hand.

The corridor was empty, and they weren't sure whether everyone was already downstairs or not.

The two of them walked to the corner of the stairs, and as they stood at the corner of the second floor and looked down, there was no one there.

It seemed that everyone was tacitly still staying in their room and had not gone down yet.

Celeste looked at Gary as she twitched her lips. "None of them has gone downstairs yet."

"I told you that we should wait a little longer before we come down," Gary said, "They have gone out for the whole afternoon. Now that they are back, they are all surely busy. Besides, they have the energy to do that as well."

Celeste blushed and said, "It doesn't matter. Let's go downstairs and wait. You said that we would have dinner at seven o'clock. I don't think that they would let us wait too long."

"Why don't we go downstairs for a walk?" Gary looked outside.

"Are you suggesting a walk in the yard?" Celeste asked.

"That's right." He nodded.

"Sounds great."

So, the two of them went out together, they took a walk in the yard.

It was a cold night, Gary reached out his hands and held Celeste. He held her in his arms as they walked.

"Are you cold?" Gary asked.

"I am." Celeste nodded.

"Then come closer to me," Gary said.

Celeste looked at him and said, "Aren't I already in your arms?"

"Then you should get inside my coat." He smiled as he opened his coat, as if he wanted Celeste to completely get inside.

Fortunately, he was tall and big, and

the clothes he wore were also very

loose. Besides, Celeste was

particularly petite and thin. As she snuggled up to him, he buttoned up his coat. The two were like

conjoined twins, they were very

intimate.

"I can't walk anymore." Celeste was in front, while Gary was behind her.

They were practically pressing against each other. He lowered his head a little bit, leaned over to Celeste's ears and whispered to her, "Celeste, you smell so good."

Her hair was soft, and the fresh smell of shampoo and the unique fragrance on her body made her smell particularly good.

Celeste chuckled. "We used the same shampoo. The smell of my hair is the same as that of yours.

I am sure yours smells nice too."

"It's not just the smell of the shampoo, it is also about your scent." Gary took a deep breath and sniffed. "That is the smell that I don't have, and it smells so good."

As if he could not replace something to talk about, he just continued to hug her tightly. His hands were being naughty while they were hidden in his coat.

Celeste could only sigh as she was being fiddled by him.

At that moment, his phone suddenly rang.

Gary was startled. He said, "It's my phone, I have to answer a call."

"Okay."

Celeste had no choice, and she could only get herself out of his coat out and helped him put it on and buttoned it for him. Gary stood in front of her as he answered the call.

He asked, "Mr. Andrews?"

It was a call from the United States.

Gary did not expect him to call back so soon.

When he answered the phone, his gaze was extremely serious.

The phone call might mean that there was progress in his investigations.

However, it had only been one and a half hour.

"Gary, about five hours ago, Janice

made a phone call to Celeste." The man's voice could be heard from the phone, and his voice was deep.
