Lowell's jaw dropped. It was apparent that it sent quite a shock to him, but he soon pulled a powerless smile. "I understand."

"As if." Smiling, Grace shook her head, saying, "If you did understand, you wouldn't be single now."

His eyes were wide-opened as he stared at his sister. "Come on. You know I can't force it. Neither of us can rush this."

"I didn't mean it, but you have to understand how I feel about this."

After saying this, Grace felt more like Lowell's mother instead of his sister. Although they were siblings, she and Heinz were the ones who brought him up. Therefore, it became a habit of hers to worry about he brother.

"I do understand, but didn't we just agree to let nature take its course?"

He knew she was worried because Ernest and the others who were close to his age all had girlfriends. With the new year around the corner...

He could feel her concern for him.

"I know you're trying to brush me off. Don't even think about it. Aren't you the slightest bit worried about your future? If you have a girlfriend, I won't be acting this way at all!" She continued, "Look at Gary and Ernest! They both have girlfriends. That's why I am never worried about them since they have someone."

"I'm a grown man. Isn't this enough to put your heart at ease? I can still do things on my own without a partner. No biggy."

After living abroad on his own, Lowell had matured. Except for that one time when Janice tricked him...

And maybe when Gary tricked him.

But he thought that had nothing to do with him. It wasn't his fault for falling into it.

The more he recalled such matters, the worse he felt about himself. His brows were knitted before he knew it.

Just then, Lowell remembered he had yet to meet Gary and Celeste since his arrival. "How are they now? How is their relationship?" he wondered.

But as soon as he started to worry about them, he felt even more depressed.

A surge of complicated emotions overcame him and he seemed absent-minded.

It took one glance for Grace to see that Lowell's mind was wandering. She was stunned, thinking that he was having problems with the girl he liked. Hence the dispirited appearance he wore.

"You know you can always tell me if you have some things on your mind. If you think it's awkward to tell me, you can go to Heinz. He's been through many embarrassing moments himself. I'm sure he wouldn't mock you," she said to him gently.

He smiled and said, "Everything has been going well for me. If anything goes wrong, I will consult you two. Don't worry. I won't be embarrassed to tell you guys anything."

"Okay. Remember, you can always come to Heinz or me for anything, okay? Don't keep things to yourself."

Hearing that, he nodded and promised, "Okay. I will."

"You must be exhausted from the trip. Why don't you take a shower and come down for some food after a change of clothes? Maybe a nap too, to get over the jet lag." Seeing signs of tiredness on his face, she urged her to go to his room.

"You too. You should take care and rest up since you're heavily pregnant. I'll be off to take a shower."

"Go ahead. Don't worry about me."

With that, Lowell went up to his room, took a bath, and changed his clothes.

He hesitated for a moment before calling Gary.

Right then, he was concerned about Gary and whether his relationship with Celeste was good. After all, it was Janice that made their relationship rocky.

Plus, Gary agreed to Janice's conditions in exchange for his freedom.

If the deal was on and he did regain his freedom from this, Lowell would never be able to forgive himself.

Soon, an automated message sounded. Gary had switched off his phone.

For a moment, he didn't know how to react as it wasn't a good sign at all.

In fact, he started getting a little anxious. Had there been an accident?

Or was he in a bad mood so he switched off his phone?

Not being able to see Gary made Lowell overthink.

Since he couldn't get through to Gary's phone, he had to give up. Still worried, he dialed a foreign number.

This time, someone picked up.

Immediately, he asked the other person on the line, "I need your help."

"Go on." The other party was straightforward.

"Help me keep an eye on Janice and see whether or not she is up to something," Lowell said.

"What?" Hearing this, the other party burst into laughter. "Are you asking me to keep watch on her? Janice? Are you sure?"

"What do you mean? Is there a problem with that? Why the laugh?" He was frowning as he replied. What was funny about his request?

"Nothing much. But Janice is a troublesome woman and she must have offended many people."

The other party's words made sense, making it harder for Lowell to comprehend what was funny.

"How much do you want for it?" he asked.

This time, the other party let out another laugh before saying, "Well, well. Wouldn't this be a good deal for me if Janice commits more wrongdoings?"

"Are you lacking funds?" He paused before offering, "I can transfer some to you right away."

"It's alright." The other party stopped Lowell, "I don't lack funds. I was merely curious. How did Janice offend you?"

"Yandrea, do you have to do this

now? Weren't you the one who asked me to stay away from

Janice?" Of course, Lowell had not forgotten about that incident where Yandrea had given him such advice.

While he did regret not listening to Yandrea's advice, it did seem of no help to the situation back then.

"That's rare, I didn't expect you to remember." Laughing, Yandrea said, "Well, since you asked, I'll help you keep a lookout on Janice. As for the details, you can tell me later.a'll carry them out per your request.Content

"There's no point in hiding this now." Lowell took a deep breath before continuing, "Janice likes Gary and I am afraid she will harm him."

"So?" Yandrea replied with another question.

"That's why I want you to keep an eye on her for me. If she comes up with a plan to harm him, help me stop her. I will be back home for a month," said Lowell.

"I see." After some thought, Yandrea agreed, "Okay, I'll keep an eye on her for you."

"Take this seriously, okay?" Lowell reminded again, still worried.

"Dude, when have I not been serious about doing you a favor?" A hint of laughter rang through Yandrea's voice, making Lowell even more worried. "Why are you laughing now?"

"I'm gloating," Yandrea teased, "You didn't take my advice before. Look at where you are now, begging for my help. How the tables have turned." "Is it fun to tease me?" Lowell grumbled.

"It's quite enjoyable, I must say."

"Since you have so much time to make jokes about me, why don't you look into what Janice has been up to in the recent months. How did she fall pregnant?" Solemnly, Lowell requested.

"I can't believe how alike you and Gary are. As expected from relatives." Yandrea chuckled again.

Hearing his words, Lowell frowned. "What does this have to do with Gary?"
