True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 2024
"That's more like it." When Heinz heard what he said, his attitude changed to be better. He felt that his job was almost done, so he could be more relieved. He told Lowell, "Go and wash your face, and wash all that sadness away. You look like a man with bad luck now."
Lowell smiled again, it was a forced smile.
Heinz could only say, "This is not a big deal. Since Gary said that he hasn't laid a finger on Janice, then there should still be some room for us to maneuver around. All we can do now is to wait for the investigation to be done.
I will observe this case silently in the shadows. I won't budge into the investigation. You don't have to worry about me being exposed to Gary or anyone.
Before the truth comes out, I will not go and make fun of my son. He is still family.
Laughing at him is the same as laughing at Grace and myself. So, you don't have to worry too much about that. Also, as you were worried about Lester.
You can be even more rest assured about him. He has been working with me for the past 20 years, he should know my temper. I won't do anything to him either."
Upon hearing Heinz's words, Lowell heaved a sigh of relief and smiled. His expression eased a lot.
He nodded and said, "Heinz, thank you."
Heinz smiled as he stepped forward. He reached out and patted Lowell on the shoulder, he said, "The Jones family is not to produce any more useless men, that tradition ends with our generation." Lowell was stunned. He looked at Heinz blankly, and he understood what he meant.
Their father had failed them and Heinz's mother. He was a jerk his entire life.
However, Heinz treated him so well. So much so that Lowell couldn't help but to feel ashamed of it.
He nodded and said, "Heinz, don't worry, I will be good."
Heinz glanced at him and warned, "You had better remember what you said, and always think of what you should or shouldn't do before you do anything."
"Sure!" Lowell nodded with a humble attitude.
"Are you single because of Janice?" Gary asked again.
Lowell replied honestly, "That's right, I really liked her a lot back then, and I was just waiting for a chance. I did not expect my love to bite me in the a*s like this after waiting for her for so long."
"You gave up on replaceing a girlfriend just for this woman who keeps using you?" Heinz sneered and spoke in a cold way, "There's no need for you to do this even if you are deep in love. Lowell, how should I even scold you?"
"Heinz, I can't do it," Lowell said helplessly.
"You can't do it?" Heinz's tone got even harsher. "Are you all right being used by this woman forever just like this?"
"No." Lowell shook his head and explained, "I used to have some feelings for her, but now, I have lost all feelings for her. However, I still think that I need some time to readjust myself before I get into a relationship."
"You are not going to lose yourself over her, are you?" Heinz asked once more.
Lowell nodded and said, "I have no intentions of doing that."
"Good." Heinz looked at Lowell in a daze. After some time, he smiled gently and said, "You can be persistent, but you mustn't be hung up on it. Also, you have to choose the right person. Some people really don't deserve your time."
Lowell smiled bitterly and sighed, "Sometimes, we will only know if someone is worth it or not in the end. Nowm I have finally seen how bad she is. I wouldn't know if I will ever meet the right person who will be worthwhile. Heinz, I know that you have once met someone who was not worth it too."
Lowell was talking about Jodie.
Heinz frowned as he heard what he said.
He thought of his failed marriage, and how he was labelled as a second-hand good, and he frowned.
However, Lowell was telling the truth.
"After failing once, when you meet another person, you will know whether they are worth it or not."
"Heinz, are there any signs when you come across that person? How do you know if they're worth it or not?" Lowell did not quite understand what he meant.
Heinz only smiled and said, "When you meet the right woman in your life, you will understand what I mean."
After Heinz finished his advice, he left the room. Lowell was left alone in the room.
He was thinking about what Heinz had said, and he only laughed bitterly.
He really hoped that he could replace the right woman
for him.
When Heinz returned downstairs, he saw Grace immediately turning off the television and looking at him.
"How was it? Did anything happen to Lowell recently?"
"He fell out of love," Heinz said, "The girl he likes fell for another man, so he has been quite depressed recently."
"So, he really is heartbroken." Grace sighed with a little worry, "Who is so blind to turn Lowell down? Lowell is such a decent boy."
"There will always be strange people who don't know how to cherish things when they have it. Isn't it right?" Heinz asked faintly.
Grace shrugged as she looked at Heinz's handsome face, and said, "Mr. Jones, may I ask who is the one that doesn't know how to cherish things?" "A lot of people," Heinz said, "You're not one of them, though. We have been together for so long, and we have always cherished each other." When Grace heard that, she felt a little embarrassed to say anything else.
"So, don't worry, honey. I will only cherish you more and more in the future," Heinz said and hugged her.
She pushed him and said, "Don't hug me. I haven't my answers yet, so what are we going to do about Lowell?"
"What do you think we can do? He
fell out of love, and he needs to walk out of it on his own," Heinz said, "You should stop mentioning it all the time as well. After all, falling out of love is an embarrassing thing for him. The more you ask, the more embarrassed he will feel
"I am really worried. He has fallen out of love, so can't I even ask him about it?" Grace muttered, "It just feels like there are a lot of things in his mind. I only suspected that it could be him falling out of love, who knew that that was indeed it. Who is that girl? Who did she like? Was he someone better than Lowell?"
ould
"I can only say that there is always someone better. He must also be a very outstanding boy." When Heinz said that, there was a hidden thought in his gaze. His son of course was excellent.
"That is true. If he is not outstanding, how could she choose him over Lowell?" Grace said bitterly with a sigh, "What a pity."
"There are plenty of fishes in the
sea," Heinz said, "Let him settle
down for a while, he should be
feeling better in a day or two. Don't
worry Okay, I won't worry, and t won't ask either." She wrapped her arms around his waist and patted his back. "Thank you, hubby."
"Why are you thanking me?" Heinz was stunned. "What for?"
"Thank you for being concerned about Lowell. If I were the one who went to ask, he would definitely feel even more embarrassed. After all, you are all men, so, you should know each other better," Grace said. Heinz was dazed, then he said, "Actually, there is nothing to be minded. The fact that he told me about it means that he has gotten over it. He wouldn't be bothered by it for too long."
