Alice Smith was surprised.

She was touched by his words.

She was looking at Jensen Charm with her big round eyes. Her eyes were so beautiful.

They were looking into each other's eyes.

Alice realized that she was consumed in her own thoughts.

She came back to her senses. She gave a wry smile and said, "My sister is always like this. She doesn't tell me anything. She'll always shoulder the burden. While I am the one who always creates trouble." Seeing that she was blaming herself, Jensen comforted her softly, "This is not your fault. Please don't worry. I have sent someone to investigate it. We will look at the CCTV footage as well. We'll return the money to you soon."

"Really? And you think you'll be able to return the money to me?" Alice looked at him doubtfully and asked.

"I'll definitely refuse to pay for it. But, Heinz insisted on paying for it." Jensen said.

"Do you mean that Heinz, that coward, pretended to be generous and paid for us?" Alice asked.

Jensen was shocked. Then, he nodded his head and said, "Yea, he's a kind person, but a coward. He's afraid that the condition of the patient will get worse if the treatment is delayed."

"But, what does this have to do with me? Why is he poking his nose into other people's business?" Alice said.

"He's just trying to be kind to that person. It's important to let the person get treated." Jensen said.

"But, both of the guys were so annoying. They were the ones blocking my way." Alice argued. All of a sudden, she stopped arguing and said, "Ah, forget it. There will not be so much ruffian if police can really control them."

She was very dissatisfied because the police would not punish the ruffians heavily.

Jensen understood what she was thinking. He said, "I know it's really not reasonable for them to receive such light punishments. But, the police can only arrest the people. It's the duty of the prosecutors and judges to decide on the punishments."

"Well, this means that police don't play an important role at all," Alice said while standing up. Then, she continued, "I know it's not your fault. There are some defects in the system. Also, the system is catered for so many people. They are afraid that someone might use this system to seek vengeance, just like what you've said."

"It's good that you have thought this through. You're really a reasonable girl!" Jensen stood up and looked into her eyes. Alice was flustered when Jensen was looking at her so lovingly.

Alice said, "Thank you, Officer Charm. Please don't tell my sister that I know how much the medical expenses were." Jensen nodded his head and said, "Okay. Let me give you a ride. Where are you going?"

Alice shook her head and rejected him politely, "It's okay. I'll take the bus. It's more convenient."

"Please just let me give you a ride," Jensen said again.

"You really don't have to do that. It's out of your way anyways." Alice said seriously. Then, she turned around and left.

She didn't give Jensen any chance to speak at all.

Jensen didn't go after her. He was afraid that he might have scared her.

She was really petite.

He was staring at her as if he was staring at prey.

He realized that he had found his prey. He was just waiting for the right time.

Sooner or later, he wanted to have her by his side. He wanted to be responsible for her.

This was the kind of responsibility that a man should have.

Then, he would not feel guilty.

He wanted to live up to his reputation as well.

Heinz Jones was waiting for Grace Smith to get off work.

It was past five o'clock.

Grace came out of her company's newspaper office and saw a familiar car.

'Has he been waiting for me here all afternoon? Or did he leave and comes back again?' She thought.

Heinz got out of the car and walked towards her when she was consumed in her thoughts.

Grace frowned. Heinz had a really domineering demeanor.

She sighed, "Why did you come back?"

Heinz felt disappointed when Grace was not happy to see him here.

He handed her the card.

Grace was stunned. She said, "I don't want the money, it's better to have it settled."

Heinz said, "I don't want to settle this with you. I'll be happier if we have many unsettled things. By doing so, you'll not leave me because you might feel that you've owed me a lot of favors. This is what I want. I'm not looking down on you."

"I don't want to owe you any money. I hate owing money to people." Grace grunted impatiently.

"You can not owe others money. But from now on, I'll help you to solve everything. I'm being serious." Heinz said sincerely.

"How serious are you?" She shot back.

Heinz looked at her and said with a smile, "I am very serious. I want more than just a relationship."

Does this mean that he wanted to marry her?

Grace looked into his eyes. She could tell that he was being sincere.

She pursed her lips and shook her head. She said,

"That's good then. But, please take this card. I don't want to owe you anything. I'll feel more at ease when I know that I don't owe you any money."

Seeing that Grace was so stubborn, Heinz frowned and said, "Can you stop being so stubborn?"

"I'm a stubborn person. I've been stubborn my whole life and that is the reason why I am still alive today. Grace said while looking into his eyes. She would have been dead long ago if it wasn't for her stubborn streak.

She got pregnant out of wedlock. If she wasn't stubborn and tenacious, how could she have raised her kid?

Only she knew how difficult it was to be a mother. She had been in helpless situations many times.

Heinz realized that she really wanted him to have the money.

He sighed and said, "Grace, do you really have to do this?"

"Yes."

"Well, I respect you. But, I'm still not going to let you pay."

"What do you mean?" Grace asked him back.

"That rogue wanted to molest your sister. He has to pay for his actions. I'll help you to keep the money. I'll return to you soon." Heinz said in a deep voice. "Well -" Grace hesitated for a moment and said, "What are you going to do?"

"I'll make sure he pays the price," Heinz said.

"Heinz, he's already injured. I think that's more than enough." Grace said.

"Don't worry about it," Heinz said impatiently when Grace returned the card to him. Then, he asked, "Where are you going? Let me give you a ride."

"I want to go home."

"I'll give you a ride then!"

"No-"

"You're not allowed to reject me anymore. Otherwise, I'll go home with you. I'll stay at your house tonight."

Grace was helpless. She had no choice but to let him fetch her back. She said, "Well, let's go then."

Heinz received a phone call while they were on their way back.

He looked at the phone number and answered the phone call, "What's wrong?"

Ernest said, "Dad, can I go to my classmate's house today?"

"Where?"

"I want to go to my classmate's house. I've asked the butler to wait for me. I'll go back to the party."

"Is it safe?"

"Yea, of course."

"Okay." Heinz was in a good mood because Grace and he had made up. Therefore, he didn't reject his son. However, Grace looked at him suspiciously. She seemed to have heard a child's voice. She thought,

"Who's that child?"
