Lester felt odd about Heinz's order. He had a distinct feeling that it must be related to Marry.

However, he dared not give any advice seeing that Heinz was seething with rage. He nodded respectfully and said, "Yes."

In the next second, Heinz punched the back of the chair.

Lester was startled and looked at him in shock.

After the punch, he leaned on the seat, closed his eyes and did not say a word.

At the same time, his phone rang, but he did not answer.

Lester had no idea who was calling and wouldn't know too since the phone was in Heinz's pocket.

It rang for a while and finally stopped.

"Start driving," Heinz ordered.

"Yes." Lester immediately ignited the car and turned around to leave.

Just as they were turning around the corner, he caught sight of Alice.

She was walking with a few bags in her hands.

Lester glanced at her and thought of what Heinz had just said. He decided to stay silent.

The car passed by Alice.

Turned out Alice was coming back from school and

had brought some groceries for Grace.

She didn't notice Heinz's car and went straight into the building.

As soon as she entered the house, she saw Grace kneeling on the floor, burying her head in her arms like a lost soul.

Startled, she closed the door and asked anxiously, "Grace, what's wrong? Why are you kneeling at the door? Have you been back for a long time?"

Seeing that she had changed into her pajamas and her seemingly washed hair, Alice knew the answer.

Grace suddenly came to her senses.

She slowly lifted her head to look at Alice. Once she met Alice's eyes, her eyes widened and was gradually gaining focus.

Without saying a word, she blinked her eyes and burst into tears.

"Grace, don't scare me. Are you okay?" Alice got to the ground and looked at her. "I came straight from school after hearing that you're getting discharged. But what happened? Why are you crying?" Alice couldn't stand to see her cry.

With tears still hanging down her face, Grace shook her head and smiled, which was confusing.

Alice was baffled to see Grace acting weird. She asked with concern, "Was it Heinz again? It's him, right?"

Grace froze. His words came into her mind again, which once again tore her heart into pieces.

"It must be him." Alice widened her eyes, which were burning with fire. "What has the coward done to you this time? Was leaving you alone at the hospital not enough?

"You saved his life and yet he was so heartless. It's ridiculous."

I'm going to settle the score with him right now."

As Alice spoke, she stood up and headed to the door.

"Alice! No!"

Grace grabbed the corner of Alice's jeans.

"Please. Don't go," she pleaded.

Alice knelt down again and comforted her. "Then tell me what happened."

"He was here just now," Grace said. "He came in and said some nasty things."

"Why would he?" From the beginning, Alice already wasn't fond of him, so hearing about it enraged her even more. "He's out of his mind to have treated you badly!" she exclaimed. "Alice," Grace said. "It's a misunderstanding. He thought Little Gary was the child of another man."

"He knew about Little Gary?" Alice was aghast. "Did you tell him about it?"

"No." Grace shook her head. "Marry told him. She must have told Heinz that I have a five-year-old son. But he didn't know that the child was his."

"Marry?" Alice frowned. "Damn, that b*tch! She's really crazy. She blamed her miscarriage on you, and now this? And Heinz just fell for it?"

Grace was silent and looked distracted.

"Is he stupid?" Alice shouted, "He is just a foolish man who's been taken advantage by Marry."

"Marry has always had a twisted mind, I don't care what she is thinking. But now, Heinz is really mad at me. To him, I'm just a scheming and unscrupulous woman." "Even if I told him that the child was his, so what?" she asked.

"If there's a misunderstanding again next time, he would still act the same way. I found that he seriously lacks self control. He is bigoted when dealing with problems." Alice exclaimed, "Are you really not going to tell him that Little Gary is his son?"

"It's useless even if I tell him. It'd only be like I'm begging him," Grace said, defeated.

She continued. "For the past six years, I've been getting by fine without this man. And now that he talks so lowly about me, why should I lower myself to pester him?" Grace shook her head. "No, I won't ever go to him again."

"This is really frustrating." Alice was trembling with anger. "But Grace, this means Little Gary will never have a father."

Little Gary had always hoped to have a father.

Grace couldn't say anything to that.

She knew that it would be a big blow to Little Gary, and she felt bad for him.

"Come, let's go in." Alice reached out to help her up.

Grace's legs were numb as a result of kneeling for too long, and as a result, she almost fell when she stood up. Alice quickly held her.

"Be careful." Alice held Grace's arms and led her to the couch.

As Grace sat down, the numb on her legs got worse.

Alice got down and gave her a massage. "How long have you been kneeling at the door?"

"Not that long," Grace replied.

"I swear I'll teach Marry a lesson!" Alice seethed.

"Don't bother," Grace shook her head, "she's just too desperate."

"Why?" Alice asked.

"I heard that she has become infertile due to her miscarriage," she explained.

Alice was stunned. After a while, she gritted her teeth and said, "That's karma at work."

While they were talking, there was a knock on the door.

"Let me answer it," she said as she went to have a look outside. It was Marry who was standing at the door.

"It's Marry," Alice said, "Good. This saves me the trouble of going to her."
