Jensen grasped Alice into her room, only loosening his grip once the door was shut.

"Ah!" Alice heaved a sigh of relief. "Jensen Charm! What are you doing?" she shouted in a high-pitch voice.

"Tell me, what's the relationship between Tyler and your sister?" Jensen did not care anymore. It was a matter of utmost urgency to clear up his confusion.

Alice was suddenly struck with realization. She rotated her big eyes for a few times before she said, "Why do you want to know? Don't you think you've crossed the line?"

"Just tell me." Jensen watched her with glittering eyes. "Alice, I guess you don't wish that Little Gary has a stepfather, do you?"

Alice was mildly bemused and said, "Don't try to deceive me, Jensen. I would definitely give the green light for Tyler to be Little Gary's stepfather. He is the right guy and he's really nice to my sister."

Jensen narrowed his eyes. His eyes flickered with a tinge of worry. "Yes, I could figure that he's really good to your sister, Little Gary, and you. He's much better than Heinz."

"Do you really think so?" Alice turned her head and looked at Jensen in doubt. Since Heinz was Jensen's good friend, she wasn't convinced with his words.

"Well, I'm not blind," Jensen said as-a-matter-of-fact. "I can see that all of you get along well with him. But with Heinz, you're like oil and water. I can't deny the facts." Alice's face softened upon hearing Jensen's explanation. "It's great that you think so. Heinz's a bad guy."

"Ahem, ahem!" Jensen almost choked on his saliva.

"It's unfair to say so."

"What do you mean?" her brows knitted when she realized that he was on Heinz's side again.

Jensen explained quickly, "I think you have misunderstood him. Although Heinz is short-tempered, he is not a bad person."

"Ha," Alice let out a sarcastic laugh. "You still have the nerve to say that. With Tyler in the picture now, I really can't see any good in Heinz. Tyler could easily defeat Heinz in an instant."

Jensen's jaw dropped. He looked Alice in the face and couldn't say a word to refute. "Fine, I'm not going to say anything else. It can't change the truth. He is really a jerk."

Alice pointed at him and said, "Let me tell you, Jensen. Do not say anything and do not tell Heinz about Tyler and my sister."

"Heinz has already known it," Jensen said.

Alice was caught by surprise. Her eyes twitched slightly as she stared at him and said, "Did you tell him when he called you on the phone just now?"

"No, I didn't," Jensen replied.

Alice's tone became sharp and she asked in disbelief, "Who told him then?" "I really don't know," Jensen said. "Tell me the truth. What is the relationship between Tyler and Grace? Are they just friends? Why is he staying in her room?"

Alice was startled. Watching his serious face looking down on her, she pressed her lips together and hesitated for a moment.

Then, she questioned him, "Are you being suspicious of my sister's way of life?"

"Why would I be suspicious?" Jensen said. "I wouldn't get your confirmation if I'd think so."

"It's nothing." Alice became serious and explained, "Whenever Tyler is back, he'd stay in Grace's room, and Grace would share a room with me."

Jensen breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh. That's good."

"What is so good?" Alice frowned. "Are you still doubting her?"

"No," Jensen denied. "What I mean is, there is still a chance for Heinz."

"B*llsh*t!" Alice couldn't help but swear.

Having no other way, Jensen tried to reason with her. "You have to understand where I'm coming from, Alice. It's a fact that Heinz is my best friend. I hope to see them reconcile and Little Gary gets to be with his father. Although Heinz's behavior angered me as well, I think we should give him a chance to become better, instead of completely denying him."

"I don't have the time for that," Alice said. "I don't know about Grace. But I certainly don't want Heinz to be my brother-in-law." "As long as you want me to be your man." Jensen suddenly pulled her into his

arms.

Surprised, Alice exclaimed, "What are you doing? Let go of me!"

"Let me hug you," Jensen lowered his voice. "Alice, you have no idea how scared I am now."

Alice raised a bow and asked, "Why are you scared?" "I know it's not the most appropriate thing to say, but I'm thankful that Tyler's target is your sister, not you," Jensen whispered in her ear. "Luckily it's not you."

Alice had wanted to break free from him, but when she heard that, her cheeks blushed. Then, she sneered and said, "I will never have any thoughts about men. You are no exception. I don't have any feelings for you too."

"Really?" He drew his body back slightly, lowered his head and fixed his gaze on her. "If you don't have feelings for me, why are you blushing?"

Alice's face flushed even more. She could feel her face burning and her ears turned red.

It was embarrassing.

She thought to herself that she was just blushing due to anger and the awkwardness of the situation.

"Let go of me!" Feeling annoyed, she immediately protested. "I'm going out."

"Don't go." Jensen held her by her shoulders and said to her seriously, "There's nothing to be embarrassed about. Don't run away from me just because I've seen through you. I won't make fun of you, Alice." Alice was feeling even more abashed. Her fluttering long eyelashes covering the panic rising in her eyes.

She kept her head down, unable to meet his eyes.

Jensen's voice could be heard above her head. "Alice, just try your best. Believe me, I'm worth your time."

Alice's heart trembled. She thought of something and pushed him away fiercely, reached out to open the door and went out.

She was walking in a hurried pace. She seemed to be badly shaken and was in a state of shock.

Jensen sighed while watching her leave frantically, her back disappearing at the door.

He was afraid that it would take him a long time to replace a way into her heart.

However, he was in no hurry.

Then, he left the room.

Tyler and Grace were still in the kitchen.

Meanwhile, Alice was setting up the table for dinner.

Jensen quietly walked to the kitchen. When he was about to say something, he suddenly saw Tyler holding Grace in his arms and said in a soft voice, "Relax, relax."

His mouth fell open.

He couldn't believe what was happening before his eyes.

He threw a glimpse at them again. Tyler was still embracing Grace, and she did not move an inch.
