Standing at the entrance of the kitchen, Jensen had no idea what to do. He was still overwhelmed with shock and stayed rooted to the ground.

While Alice was setting up the table, she realized that there was something wrong with Jensen. After hesitating for a moment, she walked towards him. When Alice got to Jensen's side, she craned her neck to have a peek at the kitchen. Her jaw dropped right away.

She grabbed Jensen by his sleeve. Pointing inside, she mouthed at him, "What's going on?"

Jensen shook his head and replied, "How would I know?"

Alice pulled him over to the other side.

She sensed that something was not quite right. And also, she did not want to put Grace and Tyler on the spot if they discovered that they were being watched.

As soon as Alice and Jensen walked away from the kitchen, they heard Tyler's voice. "Alright, go out and wait for dinner. I'll do the rest." "I'm fine," Grace said. "Don't make a fuss about it, Tyler." While Grace was talking, she noticed Jensen and Alice had turned to look at them with probing eyes, which was out of the ordinary.

She was surprised and said, "You must be hungry."

"No," Alice immediately shook her head, her tone sounded nervous.

Jensen gave a gentle smile and added, "I'm not hungry yet."

His sharp gaze ran over Grace's face. He noticed that her eyes were red, as if she had been crying. He hazarded a guess that Tyler was comforting her when she broke down in the kitchen. For a woman to weep in a man's arms, their relationship had to be intimate.

Jensen's eyes darkened. He drew his brows together, seeming worried about the connection between Grace and Tyler.

Grace seemed to be preoccupied and did not respond to Jensen. She turned to face Alice and said "Alice, can you help Tyler? I'll be back soon."

With that, she went back to her room.

Alice responded, "Okay. I'll help Brother Tyler with the rest."

When they were back in the kitchen, Tyler remained silent as if nothing had happened.

Alice threw him a suspicious look. Her gaze went from the food to the plate, then to the pot, and finally locked on Tyler's face.

"Why are you looking at me?" Tyler had long noticed that Alice had been staring at him with probing and penetrating eyes, which was bizarre.

"Oh. Nothing." Alice quickly denied. "I'm just curious about the reason you're back."

"I'm planning to settle down. Get married and make a mark in my career," Tyler said in a casual way. "Why are you so curious about my return?"

"Get married?" Alice's eyes lit up with excitement. "Do you have somebody in mind?"

Tyler's eyes flashed. He lifted the corner of his mouth and said, "Are you trying to trick me into telling you what you want to know?"

"Don't act like we are strangers," Alice giggled. "Why would I trick you? I'm just showing concern for you."

Tyler narrowed his eyes and curved his lips into a big smile. "You should be concerned about the man outside, that boyfriend of yours. He is the one you should care about."

Alice pressed her lips together and said, "Brother Tyler, you're really cunning. I was just asking, and you're on your guard. Are we even friends?"

Tyler remained composed and smiled, "I'm just learning from you. Haven't you always been like this?"

Alice was rendered speechless. She let out a long sigh, "But I wasn't on my guard against you."

"That's because you're not treating me like a man." Tyler hit the nail on the head. "Alice, I realized that you're being too vigilant and it's unnecessary. I think you should take it easy. Don't burn yourself out." Out of a sudden, Alice was struck by a thought and said, "Brother Tyler, don't try to change the subject. You haven't answered my question."

After he finished plating the food, Tyler walked past her and said, "Don't be nosy. My business has always been kept a secret. Your sister doesn't even know. Do you think I'd tell you?"

Suddenly, something flashed through her mind. If Grace did not know, could she be the target? That was the most possible explanation.

A bright smile spread across her face. She looked at Tyler and said in a clear voice, "Since you're keeping it from my sister, are you planning to catch her off guard?"

There was a glimmer of light in Tyler's eyes. He smiled and said, "Seeing through something but keeping quiet about it is the way to go."

Alice took out the dishes too. She felt that it would be great if Tyler were to date Grace. In the past, she had always suspected that Tyler had intermittent mental disorder to be wandering the streets for no good reason.

But gradually, she found out that he was actually a big shot and was a man with good character.

Little by little, she let her guard down. She felt that being with Tyler would make Grace happy.

However, she hadn't got a clue what was in Grace's mind and whether she would consider him as her boyfriend.

As soon as they came out from the kitchen, Jensen got up and took the plate from Alice. Then, he placed it on the dining table.

At the same time, Grace came out from her room with a set of newly changed clothes. "Let's have dinner. I'll call Little Gary."

"Have your seat. I'll do it," Tyler said while pointing at the dining table.

"Alright." Grace obediently walked towards the dining table. "Teach him a lesson by the way. He has been playing too much."

"Don't worry, he'll listen to me." Tyler said with confidence and made his way to Little Gary's room.

Jensen glanced at Grace and noticed that her eyes were still slightly red. It seemed that she had been crying even after she had returned to her room.

He stared at Grace without blinking.

Sensing his gaze fixing on her, Grace raised a brow and said with a smile, "Officer Charm?"

Jensen did not look away. He kept his gaze on Grace's eyes and asked, "Have you been crying?"

Grace froze. She shook her head and said, "No."

Obviously, she did not admit it, nor was she going to admit it.

Jensen couldn't wrap his mind around Grace's thought. Had she really given up on Heinz and was considering Tyler?

He left after dinner with a preoccupied mind. There were a lot of unanswered questions in his head.

As promised, he drove to meet with Heinz.

When he arrived at Heinz's house, he found that Heinz was alone in the mountain villa, looking grim and depressing.

He walked over and sat down in front of Heinz. He remained silent, not in a hurry to speak.

When Heinz saw him, he lifted his head and met Jensen's eyes.

Heinz was feeling desolate. His eyes were dull, lackluster, and had lost their sparkles.

For the first time in his life, he felt that time went by so slowly and it was so hard to get through the day.

His usual disdain and calmness had vanished at that moment. His heart crumbled into a million pieces.

He looked at Jensen with a frown and asked, "Did you see Tyler Henley?"

Jensen nodded. "He's staying in Grace's house." "What did you say?" Heinz immediately lifted to his feet. Jensen glanced up at him and asked, "Are you going to Grace's house?"
