True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 317
The butler just kept babbling, so Grace had to listen even if she didn't want to. Anyway, it was indeed a pity to waste a whole dining table of delicious food.
The butler saw that she didn't say anything and took the chance to persuade her quickly. He started babbling again, "Miss Smith, I am a considerate person. I can't stand people quarreling, especially couples. overheard a few words just now. If it was because of our young master, you really don't have to be angry."
Grace continued to keep mum.
She wasn't angry. Ernest was very adorable. The first time she saw the child, her heart ached for him for some unknown reason.
However, because of Little Gary, Ernest, and Heinz's refusal to admit the incident on that fateful night, she couldn't tell how many women Heinz had had.
He didn't have to know about Little Gary, but how could he not admit that Ernest was his son?
She felt that Heinz was not suitable for her. They were both very stubborn.
From the first quarrel to the present dispute, when he was displeased, he would just force himself on her against her will in the newspaper office's washroom.
He had never respected her. This kind of relationship meant that it was difficult to have a good ending between them.
Even if there was no Little Gary or Ernest, it was still impossible forthem to go a long way.
She calmed down and thought about it rationally. They didn't act on impulse, in fact, they were genuinely not suitable for each other.
Perhaps, she did not really fall for Heinz.
Perhaps, Heinz wasn't really in love with her either.
If both of them did truly fall for each other, the children would not have been a problem.
In this world, there were thousands of remarried couples. Both the man and woman had to show their absolute tolerance towards each other.
But both Grace and Heinz hadn't learned how to tolerate each other yet.
It was both her fault and Heinz's fault.
She understood that it takes two to tango. If there was a conflict, it would be the responsibility of both parties.
The butler, who was driving, said, "Miss Smith, our young master is very well-behaved. You see, usually when he is in the town villa, where Butler Holland and the other servants will take care of him, his living conditions are way above many. Yet, this child is also rather pitiful because his parents are not with him.
You don't know about this, but every time I see the child, as an outsider, I too feel distressed. If you meet him, you will like this child."
"I like that child," Grace finally spoke. "He is very cute, well-behaved, and very sensible. Unlike his peers, he is calm and composed. I also feel sorry for him."
"Then that's it. Since you like the child, why don't you marry Mr. Jones and form a family? It's such a simple thing. Both of you made it so complicated and even quarreled with each other," the butler concluded that everything was fine.
Grace gazed out of the window and muttered, "Maybe I don't love Heinz enough, so I just want to quit."
"You don't love Mr. Jones?" the butler was shocked. He asked in disbelief, "Is there any woman who doesn't love Mr. Jones?"
Grace simple replied, "There should be many women who love him."
The butler asked, "Miss Smith, do you mean that they love his money?"
"In his heart, I am also that kind of woman," Grace stated in a monotone. "In fact, I'm no different."
She was the same as everyone else in Heinz's heart. Although he had apologized, the next time when something triggered him, he would still say mean things to her.
She admitted that she didn't have a strong heart to bear the hurtful words from Heinz.
She would rather not continue with the relationship than feel disgusted by his actions whenever the situation arose.
"Miss Smith, our president hasn't brought anyone to our house before. Why do you think that he feels that you are the same as the others? You're totally different from the others, do you know that?" The butler chastised her as he felt indignant for Heinz.
Grace moved her lips helplessly, "Mr. Butler, I appreciate your kindness. But now, I don't want to think about anything. I just want to stay quiet for a while. One shouldn't make decisions out of impulse. Could you please leave me alone for a while?"
But the butler insisted, "I have one more thing to say. Miss Smith, our president has never brought any other woman back home before."
"What about Claris?" Grace retorted flatly, "Claris is a wife candidate chosen by his grandfather for him. You don't have to worry about him being alone."
He shook his head, "Oh my God, Miss Smith, although Mr. Jones had brought Miss Hudson home, he has never regarded Miss Hudson as his woman."
Grace raised her eyebrow and said, "Didn't you just say he didn't bring any woman back before?"
"Alas, I found that you've trained me really well in talking back," the butler sighed. "Miss Smith, you are better than me with words."
Grace felt helpless. She was not in the mood to compete with him.
She asked again, "So, can we be quiet for a while?"
"Okay," the butler nodded.
Soon, they arrived at the entrance of the Emerald Apartment. Grace said, "We're here. You can drop me here."
"Let me send you into the residential area," the butler insisted.
Grace rejected, "There's no need to do that. Please drop me here."
Thus, the butler parked the car at the gate.
Grace opened the door and got out of the car.
The butler followed her as well.
"Miss Smith, don't be mad at our president." The butler continued, "Putting his bad temper aside, he's actually a good person. Otherwise, we would have left his side a long time ago." "Goodbye, Mr. Butler." Grace smiled faintly, turned around and left without saying anything.
The butler pursed his lips as he watched Grace walking away. When she was out of his sight, he muttered to himself, "She's right. Who would want to be a stepmother? Maybe it's over this time." The butler then drove back in a hurry.
Before Grace entered her apartment, she tidied herself and made sure that she looked nothing out of the ordinary. However, as she stepped in the door, she found Tyler staring at her with a pair of sharp eyes. "You're back?" Tyler got up and ambled over.
Grace was stunned. She nodded and scanned around the house. Jensen, Alice, and Little Gary were inside too.
"Sis, you're back just in time. I'll serve the food for you," Alice got up and went to the kitchen.
"Mommy, why are you back so late?"
"I had something to do," Grace replied. She glanced at her son, pursed her lower lip, and beamed, "I am going to get a change of clothes. You all can eat first. I will be done soon." "Alright," Little Gary nodded.
Grace quickly entered Alice's room.
Little Gary took a glimpse at Jensen and then turned to Tyler, asking, "Did you notice that my mother seemed to have cried?"
"Of course. Even you can tell, so how can we not see it?" Tyler strode towards Little Gary and smirked, "Kid, you have sharp eyes."
"Uncle Henley, I'm not a fool," Little Gary said as he glanced at Jensen.
Jensen certainly understood what he meant with that look. The child was telling him that the man who had caused his mommy to cry was his good buddy. Jensen nodded, "It's true that she has cried."
Little Gary furrowed his brows, then he jumped down from the chair and walked up to Alice's room.
Grace has just finished changing her clothes. When she opened the door, she found her son standing there.
"Little Gary?" asked Grace.
"Mommy, I have something to ask you," Little Gary asked. He then pushed the door open, pulled Grace into the room, and closed the door behind him.
Grace noticed the serious expression on Little Gary's face, so she asked, "Son, what's wrong?"
"Mommy, did that person make you cry?" Little Gary stared at Grace as he questioned.
