True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 318
Grace froze as she looked into her son's piercing eyes. Although he was young, his gaze was penetrating, it made her shudder and dare not look him in the eyes.
She heaved a deep sigh for a moment and said softly, "Son, this is the grown-ups' business. I have to deal with it myself."
"It looks like he has made you unhappy," Little Gary pouted. "I was right then."
"Son," Grace said helplessly. She was shocked at how easy he had picked up on the situation. She said, "You're still young. There are some things that you still don't understand."
"I understand." Little Gary blurted, "You've been reluctant to take me to see him because he's not good enough."
Grace was astonished once again. She asked, "Why do you think so?"
He said, "Mommy, can you be more honest? Don't feel embarrassed. Is what I said true?"
Grace felt helpless. She looked at her son and answered truthfully, "I'm sorry. I didn't handle it well. It's my fault."
Gary studied her for a moment. After a while, he broke the silence, "Is it true that I will put you in a difficult situation if I want to meet him?"
Grace was dumbfounded, and an apologetic look flashed across her eyes. She explained, "Little Gary, let me put it this way. It's impossible between me and him." Little Gary was startled, "He doesn't have a good character, right?"
Grace shook her head and said, "He's your father. It isn't about his character. Both of us have a stubborn personality. It's not appropriate for us to be together." "I see," Little Gary nodded and reached out to hold Grace's hand. "Mommy, let's have dinner together."
"Okay," she smiled.
Only then did the mother and son come out of the room.
Outside the room, Alice, Jensen, and Tyler were watching them in silence.
Grace curved her lips, "Sorry, let's eat."
Jensen took a glimpse at Grace, he was a little worried.
Grace sat down to have dinner with them.
Tyler peeked at Grace. His gaze was fixed on an obvious bruised mark on Grace's neck. Just one look at the reddish bruise and he understood what it was. Tyler was momentarily stunned, and the look in his eyes deepened.
He quietly picked up the lettuces from the plate and put it on Grace's plate, saying, "Help yourself. Didn't you say that you're hungry?"
"Thank you," Grace looked at the delectable dishes on the table. There were six dishes and one soup.
Alice also sensed that something was not right. She examined her sister and was a little worried.
Grace had been eating with her head down.
The atmosphere at the dining table was gloomy.
After dinner, Little Gary pulled Tyler into his room.
When he saw that the little fellow seemed to have something to say, Tyler chuckled, "Tell me, what do you want from me?"
Little Gary blinked at him and stared into his eyes. He questioned, "Uncle Henley, can you keep secrets?"
"Yes, I can," Tyler said with a smile. "Don't you know what kind of person I am?"
"Alright, I'll believe you this time." Little Gary then said, "I want to hack into a website. Can you teach me how to do it?"
Tyler was startled at his request. His eyes twitched and he said, "Kid, I'm afraid it's a little difficult."
"You definitely know how to do it." Little Gary said matter-of-factly, "I know that Uncle Henley has the ability."
Tyler shook his head, "Kid, don't hold too much expectation on me. In fact, I'm not as good as you think."
"You're excellent." Little Gary praised. His eyes flashed with a hint of slyness, "If you don't help me this time, I'll replace someone else to help me. By then, don't blame me if we drifted apart. You're the first person I've thought of to ask for help, Uncle Henley." Tyler shot a lazy glance at the little fellow. There was no need to guess, this child knew something.
He made his way to Little Gary's bed and sat down. He then asked, "Who do you want to sabotage?"
"Heinz Jones," Little Gary answered.
"You know him?" Tyler asked.
"Yes, I know him." Little Gary said, "He is my father."
Hearing this, Tyler was taken aback. Although he had guessed that Little Gary had found out about the news, Tyler was still surprised to hear it from Little Gary in person.
Especially when the child said that Heinz was his father.
It was the first time for Tyler to sense the uniqueness of a biological connection. Even if the father and son didn't know each other, Little Gary had said it with an air of pride and righteousness. Heinz was indeed his father.
"So, you don't have to worry about me breaking the law. I am a child. I just want to take revenge for my mommy." Little Gary asked again, "Are you going to help me or not?"
This child was direct and honest.
His innocent little face made Tyler crack a smile, "So you think that even if you hack into your father's company website, you won't be held responsible?"
"Yes," Little Gary nodded. "That's what I think."
"Do you know that if you do this, he'll definitely know about your existence?" Tyler warned.
"I want him to know." Little Gary insisted, "I'm five years old, but he doesn't know about me. If I don't retaliate now, no one will take me seriously."
Tyler thought for a moment and asked, "Are you looking for a sense of existence?"
Little Gary hummed in response, "Well, sort of."
After hearing his words, Tyler let out a long sigh and rubbed the top of his head, agreeing, "Okay, I'll teach you."
"Thank you, Uncle Henley," Little Gary chirped. "If my mommy really doesn't like my father, I will allow her to marry you."
Tyler was stunned momentarily and he let out a laugh, asking, "Are you betraying your mommy?"
"Uncle Henley, stop pretending," Little Gary said. He had already seen through it. "Actually, I know how you feel. If you don't like my mommy, you won't come to my house this often." "Hah!" Tyler cackled. He was surprised that the child was so smart that he could see through everything. "You are overthinking."
"Don't deny it," Little Gary exposed him directly. "If you don't admit it, I won't help you either."
"Kid, what's the point of me admitting it? Your mommy's heart is not on me," Tyler sighed. If Grace's mind was on him, he would've confessed directly.
However, every time Tyler dropped hints, Grace would dismiss it at once.
Tyler knew very well that Grace didn't have that kind of thoughts about him.
He loved her, but she didn't. It was a platonic relationship.
He didn't want to force her, therefore, it was tough for him to pursue her. Wasn't this what a gentleman should do?
Little Gary's little face crumpled, "Then, you have to work harder."
"I also wish to work hard," Tyler sighed regretfully. "But the timing is not right."
"Indeed," the little fellow agreed. "Now, my mommy's mind is not on you at all, so your hard work will go in vain. In this case, you can continue to pretend. I won't expose you." "You br*t," Tyler rubbed his hair and chuckled. "Come on, I'll teach you how to sabotage the site. Are you sure you want to do it?"
"Yes!" Little Gary nodded seriously. "The hotter the mess, the better it is."
