True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 387
"I can't afford your love," Simon Brown said, his eyes distant and cold. He then added, "I have always thought of you as a woman with principles. It is only now that I finally discern your true self. You're such an unscrupulous woman."
"No, I'm not. Simon, I'm not that kind of woman. Please don't say that about me. I want to be with you because I really love you." Marry Smith answered as she shook her head. Her teeth sank deep into her lower lip, almost causing it to bleed.
"Then tell me, did you really drug me that night?" Simon questioned.
Marry froze and she wanted to shake her head instinctively.
However, when she saw Simon's disappointed eyes looking at her, she couldn't help but feel flustered.
"Simon!"
"Tell me! If you dared to do it, why don't you dare to admit it then?" Simon suddenly growled, his voice full of anger.
"Yes!" Marry was so anxious that she shouted loudly. She claimed, "I drugged you because I love you. I couldn't bear watching you and my sister stay with each other. If I didn't drug you that day, you two would have been together. She would have confessed her love to you. I'm glad that I drugged you on that day. You've become mine, and I became yours. We're a perfect match." Hearing Marry's confession, Simon's heart ached. He did not see this coming at all.
So... he was really drugged that night after all.
Marry kept babbling. He never thought about it that way because he was afraid to seek the truth.
If it weren't for Marry, Grace would have confessed her love to him. That night, they would have been together and Grace would have become his woman.
Grace, not Marry.
What a twist of fate!
At this instant, Simon sighed in his heart.
This was so maddening, but he couldn't replace a way to release his fury.
Everything had completely changed.
Everything had gone off track.
He hurt Grace. Even after they reunited, he doubted and questioned Grace.
Disheartened, Simon looked at Marry and asked, "Then, what about the child?"
Marry froze and color drained from her face there and then.
"You wanted to frame Grace, but you didn't succeed. Just like what Alice and Grace said, you were not pregnant. However, later on, you were pregnant, and eventually, you lost the baby.
All these are lies, aren't they?"
Marry's eyes were full of fear.
Looking at Simon being consumed with rage, she got scared and shivered for a moment. Then she retorted, "Yes, I wanted to hurt her. I was not pregnant in the beginning, but I got pregnant eventually. I didn't know about it until I miscarried."
"Why did you do that?" Simon snapped, "Why?"
"Because I love you!" Marry shouted and continued saying, "I love you very much. Simon, I was so afraid to lose you. I tried painting Grace in a bad light so that you'll hate her!"
Simon was astounded. He couldn't believe his ears.
He was bewildered that the woman standing in front of him would do all these.
"I am afraid of losing you. Whenever I see you looking at Grace with so much love and tender in your eyes, I will get extremely jealous. I just couldn't wait to kill her.
Whenever I try to please her, I actually wanted you to see me as a kind, unselfish woman.
But in fact, I'm petty, and I feel so indignant in my heart.
I didn't want to smile at her at all, and I didn't want to be nice to her.
However, I care about my position in your heart and your impression of me.
I want your love for me to be intact.
Yet, you still couldn't forget about her. I have caught you staring at her room secretly whenever we're home. Even when we sleep together at night, I couldn't spot any twinkle of love in your vacant eyes. I am just a substitute.
I know very well that you take me as Grace.
Whenever you are about to climax while we are having sex, you would bite hard on your lips. You were so afraid that you might accidentally shout Grace's name!"
Simon was shocked by her words and his brows were tightly knitted. He stared at Marry with astonishment. He couldn't believe that she would see him in that way.
She was constantly worried. Distress and fear were obvious in her eyes. They were consuming her.
"There are a few times when you have drunk too much and you would call her name when you slept with me.
Do you know that my heart would bleed every time you call her name? At that moment, you are no longer the man I know. I know that it only happened because you regarded me as Grace. Your heart is still with Grace.
Only at that time, you would act like a real man and not hold anything back.
You would lose all control and you would make me feel loved.
If you had referred to me by my name instead of Grace, I would have been the happiest woman in this world. However, you would always end up calling out her name. Life is just so imperfect.
In the years that she was away, you would still pay some attention to me.
But later, when she came back, none of that compassion remained.
Do you think that we are still like a married couple?
You are so indifferent to me whenever you come back from meeting Grace. You would get drunk to numb yourself. And, only in this drunken state, you would treat me more passionately. Back then, I thought that you were acting this way for me, but now I know, it was all because you missed Grace.
You get jealous whenever you see that she was with Heinz and you would take me as a substitute.
But I endured it because I loved you so much.
I told myself that if I couldn't get your heart, I could, at the very least, get your body.
Simon, we are together because I love you. I could make myself as insignificant as an ant. It doesn't matter to me.
Still, I love you. I don't care what others think of me and I will love you regardless of everything.
The more Marry said, the more agitated she became. There were sparkles of tears in her eyes and her face was blanched.
She looked at Simon, her eyes full of emotions and her love for him.
"Therefore, I will never divorce you, not even if I die," Marry exclaimed while shaking her head. She yelled, "I would rather die than to divorce you!"
"That's not up to you," Simon responded coldly, frowning. He then added icily, "You should have known that this day will come sooner or later from the first day you had decided to use these unscrupulous means on me."
"But I've also lost myself in this process!" Marry bawled. She then went on saying, "I was a virgin
before we got together. I gave you my first time. You must take responsibility for me."
Simon sneered and said, "Your first time?"
"Yes!"
Simon was outraged and he asked in reply, "I cannot reason with you! I've also given you my first time even though I never loved you at all. All these years, you're the one who has restrained me and kept me beside you. How dare you request such a thing?"
He was getting out of control. He was on the verge of blowing up.
All this time, he carried on living with her only on account of responsibility and morality.
However, when he found out that it all was this woman's doing, he really couldn't hold on any longer.
Marry screamed in a low voice, "We are the best match. You can't deny it. Simon, we can't divorce each other." "Humph!" Simon leered and said, "We can't divorce? Do you honestly still think that?"
