Shaking her head, Marry Smith screamed, "No! I don't want to divorce you."

Simon Brown sneered and ignored her He turned around and entered the car, getting ready to leave.

Marry quickly stood in the way of the car in an attempt to stop him from leaving.

Simon, who was in the car, immediately stepped on the brakes when he saw Marry's reckless action. He was so furious that his body shook violently. He reversed his car at a frighteningly high speed, exiting from another way out.

Marry tried to catch up to him hurriedly.

However, Simon had already left in a flash.

"No!" Marry shouted hysterically, "Simon, you can't leave me. How could you leave me?"

However, what answered her was wisps of white smoke from the car that had disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Simon was very determined to leave and he didn't care that Marry was screaming.

He didn't even look back at the desperate woman in his rearview mirror.

He knew that he would be annoyed and disgusted even if he were to take a glance at her.

He drove out of the parking lot like a madman. As soon as he left the building, he was greeted by

countless pedestrians and cars that drove by him. All of a sudden, he felt as though he couldn't replace the right direction in life.

"Ah!"

Simon roared in the car, his scream filled with despair.

He smashed his hand on the steering wheel, and the honk rang loudly. The sound was so blaring that the people around him looked at him in shock. Even so, Simon ignored it as though he didn't hear the honk at all.

He was so foolish.

He had lost his beloved woman and he had lived with a scheming woman for six years. He had been feeling guilty toward her, but it turned out to be a hoax. He felt like a joke.

It was utterly ridiculous.

Simon leaned against the driver's seat, looked up, and stared blankly at the roof of the car. Tears were coming out from his eyes uncontrollably.

The tears streamed down his cheeks in despair, one dripping after another silently.

"Ah!"

He growled again.

Why would God punish him like this?!

He knew that he couldn't stay with Marry anymore, not even for a moment.

He covered his face with both hands, and took his

phone out to call his lawyer, "Attorney Grayson, I'm

Simon Brown."

"Hello, Mr. Brown." "Could you please draft a divorce agreement for me? I want to divorce Marry," Simon said in a low voice.

"Huh?" Attorney Grayson was stunned and he asked cautiously, "Mr. Brown, are you really going to divorce Miss Smith?"

"Undoubtedly," Simon answered firmly. He then continued, "Draw up an agreement and file a lawsuit for divorce. Please help me deal with the relevant documents, requirements, and procedures. After you have everything ready, I will sign them."

"Mr. Brown, what about your assets?"

"I'll leave without taking any properties! I don't want anything from the Smith family and the Sunny Group anymore," Simon spoke gruffly.

Attorney Grayson responded, "Since you are determined to go on with this and you are sure that you don't want any of the properties, it will be much easier to deal with."

"Okay, please take care of this. The sooner, the better," Simon said.

"Okay."

Simon then hung up the phone.

He sat in the car, took out a cigarette, lit it, and started smoking.

At this moment, his phone rang.

He took a peep and saw that it was Marry.

He declined the call and blocked her number at once.

He no longer wanted to speak to Marry, not even a word.

Holding his mobile phone, he could not help laughing at himself mockingly and regretting his actions.

Love?

Loving someone and harming others, all in the name of love. This kind of love was terrifying.

He wouldn't want it.

The phone rang again. His mother's name appeared on the screen. Simon paused before picking it up.

"Mom?"

"Simon!" Mrs. Brown's voice came from the other end of the phone in an exasperated tone, "Are you going to divorce Marry?" The news spread really fast.

Simon smiled bitterly. It seemed that Marry had told his mother about the divorce, Perhaps, even his father had learned about it.

"Yes, Mom!" Simon said gloomily, "I have made up my mind. Please don't persuade me otherwise."

"Simon," Mrs. Brown raised her voice and shouted, "Are you trying to drive me mad?"

"Mom, I'm sorry," Simon felt truly apologetic in his heart. He knew that his parents had regarded their reputation highly, hence they would definitely not want their son to divorce. However, he had made up his mind and he knew that he would not change his decision.

He would never accept any interference after he had made his resolution.

"Simon, I will refuse to acknowledge you as my son if you were to go ahead with the divorce," Mrs. Brown blurted in distress, leaving no room for negotiation for Simon.

Simon replied, "Well, I don't have to go back if you don't want to see me. But I must proceed with the divorce. No one and nothing can stop me now!"

"Are... are you really trying to piss me off?!" Mrs. Brown bellowed, "Haven't you forgotten about Grace yet?"

"Yes, I can't keep Grace off my mind. Not only I can't forget about her, but I also can't eat and sleep well whenever I think of her. I feel like murdering Marry, thinking that I had lost Grace because of Marry's schemes!" Simon exclaimed in one breath.

On the other end of the call, Mrs. Brown was dumbfounded and she did not come to her senses for a long time, "You unfilial son. You are a married man."

"So what?" Simon responded solemnly, "I can control my actions but not my heart. I'm really in pain now. Mom, I have had enough. Let Marry and I go on our separate ways from now on." "No," Mrs. Brown still refused to listen to him, "If you divorce Marry, you'll see me die."

Simon inhaled deeply and collapsed on the chair. He didn't move for a bit and took a deep drag off the cigarette. He exhaled the smoke and watched as the

smoke cloud rise slowly. He was in anguish.

"Mom, don't threaten me with your life," Simon said, "If you force me, I will make you witness my death too."

"You!" Mrs. Brown was held back by her son's confrontation and her words were stuck at her throat. She gasped for breath for an instant before saying, "You are really getting on my nerves." "This is between Marry and me. She is using you to stop me from divorcing her. She will not get what she wants. I must get a divorce," Simon made his stand clear and hung up the phone. With the mobile phone in her hands, Mrs. Brown didn't come back to her senses for a while.

When Marry called again, she calmed herself down and answered.

"Yes, Marry?"

"Mom, did Simon pick up the phone?"

"Yes, he did."

"What did he say then?" Marry's anxiousness could not be heard in her voice.

"He seemed to have made up his mind," Mrs. Brown apologized and said, "I'm sorry, Marry. I can't persuade him, but don't worry. I'll talk to him again and ask his father to speak to him too. Don't get too anxious. Give him some time to calm down first. Both of you aren't thinking straight right now."

Hearing Mrs. Brown's words, Marry said, "Mom, I can't divorce him. I really love him. You know that."

"But, Marry, it doesn't help that I know. Simon has to

know it for himself."
