Alice did not expect Carl to be so arrogant. She glared at Carl. She was stubborn and unwilling to admit defeat. Carl's face froze when Alice glared at him. He tightened his grip on her chin and his gaze was sharp.

Alice continued to glare at him.

"What?" Carl snorted, "You're not giving in?"

Alice was unable to reply because her jaw was being seized by Carl.

Carl grinned, "Oh, I forgot that I held your chin!"

He loosened his grip on Alice's chin.

It was very painful and her jaw was burning. Alice suspected that the flesh on her chin was probably bruised.

Alice looked down, hiding the disgust in her eyes with her long lashes.

She detested criminals who threatened the police with women.

"Did you hear me?" Carl raised his voice again. He was very displeased with Alice's reaction.

Alice suddenly looked up to glare at Carl. She declared word by word, "You can't win against the officers, so you bully their friends and families. Would this change the law?" Carl was taken aback by Alice's remarks.

Suddenly, he squinted and raised his hand again to slap Alice.

"Smack!"

Another slap in the face made Alice's left cheek extremely swollen.

"I see you don't learn," Carl hissed coldly, "Did you think that you could get away unharmed? Did you think we would just give you a warning and let you go?"

Alice's heart skipped a beat, "They were not planning to let me go?"

"I'm warning you, little girl, we can abduct you another time," Carl cautioned slowly, "In fact, we won't only abduct you but let you have a taste of men. You can give it a go with all of my men." Alice's eyes suddenly stiffened and she was a little afraid.

Carl noticed the panic in Alice's eyes. After frightening her successfully, he instructed, "Let her go. This is just a warning."

A man protested, "Boss, Jensen will be able to take a breather if we let this girl go so easily."

"Well, we're just sending our regards," Carl replied in a low voice, "Tell Officer Charm not to bother us. We're capable of anything if we're desperate."

The men chorused "Yes, Boss!"

Two men sent Alice off.

She immediately walked out as soon as she was free.

"Stop!" another loud voice shouted. Alice's heart skipped a beat and she stopped dead in her tracks.

"Your stuff!"

A man came over and stuffed the shopping bags into her arms.

Alice held the shopping bag tightly.

He sized her up lewdly and the desire for women was clear in his eyes.

Alice was filled with fear.

She hurried away from that place.

Alice was petrified. Previously, she had heard that the officers' friends and families would be threatened or even harmed.

Back then, Alice just smiled and did not take it seriously. However, she finally understood.

It was very frightening.

After coming out from the isolated area, she hailed a taxi hurriedly.

As soon as he got in the taxi, she lowered her head. The driver was surprised when he spotted her behavior. He asked, "Miss, where are you going?"

"Emera..." Alice blurted without thinking but she could not bring herself to say it out loud.

She could not go back. What if Grace and Little Gary were targeted if she went back?

However, she did not want to go back to Jensen's place.

She did not want to go to Hart Villa District either.

Where could she go?

Those people managed to abduct her even in the bustling streets of downtown. Where could she go?

After hesitating for a while, she finally spoke, "Northern City University."

It would be better for her to go back to her university.

When Jensen got off work, he went straight to Hart Villa District. He brought some food and wanted to eat with Alice. However, nobody responded when he entered the house.

"Alice?" Jensen called loudly.

There was no answer.

Jensen frowned. He put down the food and searched every room but there was no one around.

"Where did you go?" He took out his mobile phone and tried calling Alice.

The call went through but no one answered.

The call rang for a long time but no one picked up.

Jensen called over six times consecutively but Alice did not answer her mobile phone.

He was anxious and tried calling Grace.

It was six in the evening and Grace should be home.

Grace picked the call and asked, "Officer Charm?"

"Grace, is Alice with you?" Jensen asked immediately. His tone was anxious.

"Alice?" Grace was very surprised. "No, what's the matter? Did you guys fight?"

"No," Jensen replied, 'TH try and look for her again. Don't worry, I took her to the shopping mall this afternoon. She said she wanted to shop, so maybe she's not done yet." "It's been a whole afternoon." Grace was worried too. "She's not the kind of girl who likes to stay in shopping malls. Did the call go through? Was her phone turned off?" "No one answered."

"That's strange. I'll try calling her." Grace quickly hung up the phone call and dialed Alice's number.

The call was connected and someone picked up shortly after.

"Sister!"

Alice's voice was a little hoarse and she seemed to be upset.

Grace immediately sensed that something was off. "Alice, where are you? Are you okay?"

Grace felt that something must have happened to her sister.

"Sister," Alice immediately pretended to be fine and replied, "No, I'm alright. I'm still on campus. I just checked my phone and I was planning to call Jensen!"

"Nothing happened?" Grace asked tentatively.

"No." Alice burst into laughter. "Sister, why are you so sensitive? What could ever happen to me?"

"Then what's wrong with you?" Grace was still concerned. "Alice, I'm your sister. Why don't you come home first? You shouldn't stay out so late." "Sister, I'm fine. I'm just depressed," Alice gave a long sigh and continued, "I think I can't be Jensen's girlfriend."

"Why would you say that? Weren't you two getting along fine?" Grace felt that there was something going on.

"Sister, it's still the same thing," Alice answered, "But there's no way it'll succeed. Forget it, let's not talk about this. I'll call Jensen now, so don't worry about me. I'm fine."

"Are you really okay?"

"Of course," Alice reassured.

"Alright." Grace believed that Alice might be concerned over that issue.

After hanging up the call, Alice immediately called Jensen.

As soon as the phone was connected, Jensen asked anxiously, "Alice, where are you?"

"Jensen, I'm at my university!" Alice replied.

"What happened?"

"Why don't you come to my university? I'm at the field."

"Okay, but don't hang up. I'm worried about you. I'll come to you now." Although Alice called back, Jensen was still worried. He could feel that something was off.

"Sure." Alice sounded bored and did not object.

Jensen rushed to the university in his car.

Alice whispered on the phone, "You don't have to drive so fast. I'm fine, just a little sad."

"What's wrong?" Jensen had a nagging feeling.
