True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 419
Heinz left swiftly.
He left within ten minutes of arriving at the house.
Alice closed the door. When she turned over, she found Jensen was staring at her.
His eyes were bottomless.
Alice took a deep breath and felt a little embarrassed. "I'm sorry. I should have told you before I called Heinz. I called him because I wanted him to arrange someone to protect my sister and Little Gary. I don't want them to get hurt.11
"It's okay," Jensen shook his head and continued, "It's good that you're thoughtful and I don't blame you. I blame myself for not protecting you."
Alice could hear the disappointment in Jensen's voice.
Alice walked over to him with her head hung low. She lowered her eyes and whispered, "You seem very disappointed."
Jensen reached out to hold her hands. He sighed, "I'm not disappointed in you. I'm disappointed in myself."
It frustrated him that he could not even protect his own woman.
"Isn't it the same?" Alice muttered.
Jensen inhaled and caught a whiff of the food. Suddenly, he recalled that Alice had not yet eaten because he had been on the phone for a long time.
"You haven't eaten, right?"
"Have you had your dinner?" Alice asked.
"Nope!" He took her to the dining table and explained, "I bought some food and realized that you weren't at home. I went out to look for you immediately after."
"Then let's eat together." Alice raised her head and added, "Teach me how tot fight after we eat."
Jensen nodded after noticing her anxious looks. He promised, "Okay, I'll teach you later."
"Okay, thank you." Alice was thrilled. "Let's dig in. I've heated up the food and they should be delicious."
She withdrew her hand from his and handed him a set of cutlery.
Jensen stared at her and could not help sigh in his heart again. She was content and brave and she should be doted on and loved. Otherwise, how could he make it up to this girl?
Jensen's heart was preoccupied by Alice. He had to keep her by his side for the rest of his life. He would only be at ease when she was safe around him.
However, could he really do it?
Shortly after, Heinz returned to Emerald Apartment. As soon as he entered the apartment, he spotted Grace telling stories in the children's room. Her tone fluctuated with the flow of the story and it was music to his ears.
As soon as Heinz came back, Grace glanced at him and said to the children, "I'll continue later. Why don't you two play on your own for now?."
Gary and Ernest greeted Heinz and entered their room together.
Grace walked up to Heinz and stared at him. She asked, "How was it? Is Alice all right?"
"What could possibly happen to her?" Heinz raised his eyebrow and he looked very handsome.
Grace was bewitched. She admitted that she was obsessed with his good looks. She liked Heinz's handsome face and charming aura.
"After you left, I found it strange. Alice never liked you but it's very suspicious that she suddenly looked for you." After careful consideration, Grace had a nagging feeling. She asked, "Is she in trouble?" Heinz stared at Grace silently and his eyes darkened.
Grace was very nervous. "It makes me uneasy whenever you keep quiet. I'm more worried now."
"Something did happen," Heinz replied, "You're right, your sister would never look for me. She asked for me because she bumped into some troubles."
"What's the matter?" Grace immediately grabbed Heinz's hand nervously.
Heinz held her hand tightly.
"Tell me," Grace urged, "I'm really worried."
"Don't worry," Heinz reassured her, "Jensen offended a gangster during work. The guy knew that Alice was Jensen's girlfriend, so he went over to threaten her." "Ah!" Grace was shocked and her mind was in a
mess.
Jensen was an officer and he offended a lot of criminals. Was Alice hurt?
"Don't be afraid," Heinz comforted, "I'm going to meet that gangster tomorrow. I didn't want to tell you but if I don't, I'm worried that you'll be more concerned when I tell you in the future."
"You did the right thing to tell me!" Grace immediately added, "This way, I'll know what happened to my sister. After all, she's my sister. I'll hold myself accountable if I don't even know what happened to her, let alone protect her."
"I know." Heinz nodded. "I knew how you would react, so I told you the truth."
"How did the gangster threaten my sister? Was she injured?"
Heinz hesitated for a moment and thought it was better to not hide the truth from her.
"Grace," Heinz explained, "Listen to me. Your sister was worried about you, so she didn't tell you."
"She must be injured."
"She was slapped," Heinz replied, "Her face was swollen but she's fine."
"She knows how to defend herself and she even beat those people up last time. Yet, she was slapped by the gangster this time. Doesn't that mean that he's really powerful?" Grace instantly began nagging like an old woman, "He must be really strong to be able to overpower her."
Heinz finally understood why Alice wanted to hide it from Grace.
Grace was extremely worried.
Grace squeezed Heinz's hands and pestered, "Was she injured badly? Did she tell you to hide this from me?"
"Grace, calm down," Heinz comforted.
"How can I calm down? She's my sister.1 Grace frowned and added, "Back then, I thought that Jensen could protect her and provide her with a good life. Now that I think of it, it seems that his occupation is a threat to Alice."
"Grace." Heinz raised his hands and grabbed her shoulders. He comforted softly, "Don't be so nervous. Life will always be full of surprises. This is your sister's own choice."
"No, I'm going to make a phone call." Grace immediately shook off Heinz's hands and picked up her mobile phone to call Alice.
Heinz took a step forward and seized the mobile phone from her.
Grace widened her eyes at Heinz and said hurriedly, "Give me the phone."
"Listen to me," Heinz continued in a low voice, "We already have a plan in place for this. Your sister is very brave and responsible too. She was willing to tell me because she was afraid that she would worry you. She even asked me to keep it from you. I didn't tell you so that you could tell her what I said to you. If it goes on like this, she will not tell us anything in the future."
Grace immediately gave in. "Then what should I do?" Heinz peered down at her and said in a straight face, "You can have a meal with her tomorrow and listen to what she has to say."
Grace lowered her head and replied in distress, "I am very miserable right now. I don't know if it's right for her to be with Jensen."
"You want her to break up with Jensen?" Heinz was shocked.
