True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 420
Grace was shocked too. After a pause, she shook her head and said, "That's not what I meant. I'm just afraid."
"Jensen and I are here. What are you afraid of?" said Heinz as he held on to her shoulders. He wrapped her in his arms and promised, "Don't be afraid. I will help."
Grace looked at Heinz. Worry could still be seen in her eyes.
"I swear on my life," guaranteed Heinz as he lowered his head to look at her. He articulated each word, saying, "I will protect you sisters and my son."
Grace's eyes froze and her heart began to beat rapidly. Heinz words were full of power.
"I think Jensen would also be willing to risk his life," Heinz said in a deep voice. "A man would never allow his woman and children to be threatened. What's more, we are both outstanding and excellent in our respective fields of work."
Grace listened quietly. Looking at Heinz's serious expression, she knew that she had overreacted.
"Sorry, I'm just a little worried about meeting my sister," Grace apologized.
"I know," said Heinz, pinching her cheek. "You sisters are used to worrying too much about each other, and your sister has always been guarding against me for your sake. It's not easy for her to think of me when she needs help, and to think of me as a useful person. You can't ruin her impression of me!"
Grace nodded and said, "Got it." "Well, give me a glass of water please," Heinz said. "I'll go to the room and make a phone call to arrange this."
"Please wait for a little while," she said. Then, she quickly boiled some water as the tea was cold.
Heinz looked at Grace and knew that he needed to arrange something for her, so that she wouldn't be so anxious.
Soon, Heinz entered the room and made a call to Lester, "Investigate Carl Witlock, the one who owned a nightclub in the northern part of the city."
Lester immediately accepted the order, saying, "Yes, I'll look into that right now."
"Investigate thoroughly, his company, factory, interpersonal relations, important economic support, and everything else," Heinz ordered in a deep voice. "If necessary, contact Jensen to see if we can combine the information, and make use of that data." "Yes, sir," Lester answered.
"You have 24 hours to investigate," said Heinz.
"I understand."
When Grace entered the room, she saw Heinz talking on the phone in an imposing manner.
She put the tea on the bedside table, and Heinz hung up the call.
Grace was about to turn around but Heinz hugged Grace from behind, his long arms wrapped around her waist.
Their position was a bit too ingenious, thought Grace.
She could feel the warmth of Heinz's chest.
"Do you want to drink the tea?" Grace tried her best to suppress her excitement, but Heinz kept arousing her, which made her heartbeat speed up in an instant. Nevertheless, Grace still forced herself to calm down and talked about other things.
Grace could feel the might of his strong body.
"I'll drink it later," said Heinz, holding Grace in his arms. He breathed in her fragrance.
The smell was faint. Nevertheless, it was very refreshing. Inhaling it, it sent a rush of adrenaline through his mind.
Grace took hold of herself in the kitchen. She thought that she should try to entrust the matter to Heinz. She believed that Heinz and Jensen would handle everything well.
She resisted her urge to call Alice. She was worried and planned to meet Alice the next morning to talk with her.
What touched her was that Heinz had been working on the matter as soon as he entered the house. It seemed that he was serious about it.
"Heinz, thank you," said Grace sincerely.
"Are you serious about that?" Heinz's voice was a little hoarse and his body was also tensed up.
"Of course," Grace nodded. "Thank you. Really."
"I was hoping for something a bit more substantial," Heinz said in a low voice.
"What do you mean?"
"Don't play a fool," he chided as he made Grace turn to face him. Heinz's eyes were locked on Grace's; and his palm was on her waist pulling her towards his body. Grace felt his strength and dominance.
Her breathing was a little hitched, and her heart grew weak.
"I- I'm not," said Grace in a trembling voice through her pursed lips.
"Grace."
"Yeah?" Grace asked.
Heinz's hand glided down to her lower body. He seemed to have felt something there as he sighed helplessly and said, "Forget it. Even if you want to thank me that way, you can't do it."
Grace was dumbfounded. She didn't know how to react.
Heinz raised his eyebrows and said, "Rest early."
Grace nodded.
Early the next morning, Grace called Alice and made an appointment to meet her in school.
When Grace arrived, she saw Alice and the bruises on her face. All of a sudden, Grace's heart ached.
Seeing that, Alice lowered her face and dared not look at Grace. "Sister, why are you in such a hurry to replace me? I was so tired after practicing martial arts yesterday and felt sore all over." "Practicing martial arts?" Grace asked as she frowned.
"Yes, I have been practicing with Jensen all night. He was awesome. His fighting skills are really extraordinary!" When it came to that topic, Alice would always be very excited. Grace frowned again. Stepping forward, she stretched out her hand to hold up Alice's chin. "What happened to your face?"
Stunned, Alice immediately Asked in surprise, "Did Heinz tell you?"
"What did Heinz tell me?"
"He didn't tell you?" She questioned in disbelief.
"Answer my question." Grace was a little angry. She was angry that Alice had kept it to herself. How could Alice not tell her? Even at that moment, she was still trying to hide it from her.
"It doesn't matter. I fell and injured myself," Alice said. "Jensen and I were practicing martial arts and I fell."
Grace sighed in her heart.
"If Jensen tortures you like this, you should break up with him," Grace still had some emotions. "Break up with him. I can't believe he would practice martial arts with a girl to the point of bruising her face." "Sister, what are you saying?" Alice immediately became anxious. "Jensen and I are good. What are you saying?"
Looking at Alice, Grace gave a wry smile and said angrily, "Tell me, what did you mean by what you said just now? What should Heinz have told me?"
"Sister," Alice hesitantly looked at her. "You, don't you know?"
"I know," Grace said seriously. "You don't have to hide it. I saw your face and everything was clear."
"Sister, I'm fine," Alice immediately reached out and held Grace's arm. "Don't worry about me."
"How can I not worry?" Grace said.
"It's really okay," Alice assured.
"Do you still want to be with Jensen?" Grace asked.
Alice looked at Grace for a while and nodded. "Yes. I think I'd better try my best. If I don't try hard, I'll regret it. I wouldn't be your sister if I retreat whenever I face difficulties."
"Don't try to flatter me!" Grace easily saw through her.
"Well, sister, I am afraid that you will worry about me," Alice explained again.
"I'm really worried about you," Grace was very serious and worried. "Alice, if this kind of thing has happened once, it can happen again. Jensen is a police officer. When those people replace you again, what can you do?"
