True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 459
"For your mother's sake?" Old Master Carter's eyes narrowed as he listened to Gary. "Tell me, what did you think about for your mother?"
"You're so old already, but you still like to laugh. What if your blood pressure rises and you have a stroke? What would we do then?" Little Gary asked. "I'm shocked that you even know about this."
"Who doesn't have some medical knowledge in modern society nowadays? There's no way to survive in this society if a person doesn't have the basic knowledge."
"You're good, little boy," Old Master Carter said and gave him a thumbs-up. "You're worthy of being my grandson's child."
"Whether I'm worthy or not has nothing to do with your grandson. I inherited my mother's genes." Little Gary looked up to his mother. "It's all because of my mother that I'm able to achieve what I have today." "Hahaha." Old Master Carter was truly shocked and began to laugh heartily.
"Can you stop laughing?" Little Gary really couldn't stand this old man's crazy laughter. "Can't you be reserved and calm?"
"I'm happy, that's why," Old Master Carter said. "I haven't been so happy in many years."
Little Gary was startled. It seemed like the old man was indeed overjoyed. He was not faking it. It was just that it was odd for him to laugh so much.
No, it was still better if he tried to persuade this man.
"Don't laugh anymore. I see that you're laughing too much. If you die because of it, you won't have the chance to laugh again in the future," Little Gary said. "Ha, ha, ha!" The old man still couldn't help but laugh louder.
Little Gary really didn't like this old man laughing so hard. "You're such an old man already. Can't you control yourself?"
Outside the door.
Mr. Maurice and the butler heard the old man's laughter from outside.
It was very loud.
How could he laugh like this at such an old age? What if something bad happened to him?
The butler paced back and forth in front of the door in a hurry.
Mr. Maurice was also extremely embarrassed.
Inside the office.
Little Gary still said seriously, "Hey, Mr. Carter, can you stop laughing?"
"I can't hold it back," Old Master Carter said with a smile.
"You're such a weirdo."
"You're right. I'm indeed a weirdo." Old Master Carter looked at Little Gary and gradually stopped laughing. "Mr. Carter? You should change the way you address me." "Change it?" Little Gary sat down on the sofa opposite him. He looked at him and said seriously, "Let's not talk about how I should address you first. Tell me, why are you here?" "I'm looking for my great-grandson, of course," Old Master Carter said.
"You mean me?" Little Gary pointed at himself.
"Of course."
"Why didn't you call for Ernest? Do you have any prejudice against him?" Little Gary asked.
Old Master Carter was stunned. He stared at Little Gary with a pair of bright eyes.
The two of them looked at each other astutely.
"Do you have a good relationship with Ernest?" Old Master Carter asked.
"Don't ask me about that. You haven't answered my question," Little Gary said, "Mr. Carter, you better be frank. Otherwise, you won't get my sincerity either." The old man smiled again. "I often meet with Ernest.
I came here to see you this time."
Little Gary didn't say anything, but stared at Old Master Carter with his big eyes.
After a moment of silence, Old Master Carter said, "I'm your great-grandpa."
"My mommy never mentioned this to me," Little Gary said, "I'm sorry but I don't know who you are."
"I'm your dad's grandfather," Old Master Carter said.
"Heinz?" Little Gary thought for a moment and said, "Sorry, I haven't acknowledged him yet, much less his family members."
Old Master Carter was stunned. What a bold child. "You haven't acknowledged him yet?"
"Mr. Carter, if you want to talk about something, go talk to Heinz. We have a huge generation gap. You shouldn't make that decision yourself," Little Gary said.
Old Master Carter's brow creased. He hadn't thought that this child would have such clear thoughts and a clear understanding of everything.
It was not a bad bargain.
"I'll also make an appointment with your mother," Old Master Carter said, "Can you call me grandpa first?"
"What if you're faking all this?" Little Gary asked.
"Uh!" A few seconds of silence filled the air, and Old Master Carter stared at him. "You are very alert."
"I have to be on guard." Little Gary jumped down from the sofa. "Since you came for me but not my mother, you must not want to acknowledge my mother as your granddaughter-in-law." Old Master Carter was once again taken aback.
Little Gary had already noticed this a long time ago. He lightly said, "I'm only here because of my mother. If my mother didn't give birth to me, would I be here?"
Old Master Carter was really stunned. This child was definitely not a simple person.
He was extremely intelligent.
Old Master Carter nodded and said, "Good boy, not only do you have courage and strategy, but you are also very careful."
"Even Heinz doesn't know that you're here for me, right?" Little Gary said, "If Heinz replaces out, I'm afraid he'll be angry with you."
Old Master Carter let out a sigh in his heart.
"Mr. Carter," Gary said, "It would be a huge embarrassment to lose your grandson, too."
"You are really amazing."
"Flattery won't get you anywhere," Gary retorted, "If anyone was to hurt my mommy, I would definitely strike back."
"I'd like to know, what would you do?"
"You don't need to know that now," Gary said. "I'm going back to class. I'm busy and you can't compare with me. You're already retired, and my life has only just begun." Little Gary was about to leave.
"Wait a minute." The old man stopped him and said, "Why don't I invite you and Ernest to come play with me?"
"I would suggest that you discuss this with Heinz before you do anything," Little Gary said, "If you didn't tell him but yet you take me away, this would be kidnapping."
"I'm your great-grandfather. What do you mean by kidnapping?" Old Master Carter said.
"If you took away the child without their guardian's consent, wouldn't it be kidnapping?" Little Gary said at the door, "Mr. Carter, go home quickly. Stop
playing around here."
"You're the same as your father." Old Master Carter didn't get angry but laughed instead. "You're both so bold as to criticize me."
Little Gary opened the door and looked at the old man again. He said, "You look so bored, but I'm not your friend. I suggest you replace an old lady to chat with, or you'll look pitiful."
Old Master Carter's eyes widened. This child had the same virtue as his grandson.
They all wanted him to look for a woman.
Did he look like he was short of women?
He was already in his seventies. What could a woman do?
Who would do something so useless?
Little Gary looked at him with sympathy in his eyes. However, he could not help him.
He had no choice. Old Master Carter had come to him without telling his mother. It was disrespectful towards her.
Even if he sympathized with the old man, he couldn't do that.
Little Gary came out from the room and saw the butler smiling at him.
He returned the smile and left without saying anything.
The butler hurriedly went into the room to see the old man. He was sitting on the sofa alone with a depressed look on his face.
"Chief?" The butler called.
"This kid really is a smart one!" The old man suddenly stood up and said, "Ha, ha, ha, there is a successor!"
The speed at which Old Master Carter changed his attitude was truly frightening.
