Grace saw Little Gary rushing out of the house the moment she got out of the car.

"Mommy," The little boy was in a dejected mood. He hugged her tightly as soon as he saw her.

Grace was taken aback. She lowered her head and asked softly, "What's wrong, dear?"

Little Gary didn't answer. He just held her and said, "Mommy, I want to go home."

"What happened?"

Grace felt puzzled at his actions.

Just then, Heinz came out from the house, and she noticed that his eyes were filled with concern.

When he saw her, guilt flashed in his eyes.

"Grace," he said hoarsely.

"What's wrong with Little Gary?" Grace asked him.

Heinz paused. He opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out.

He only stood there, staring into her eyes dejectedly.

Grace looked down at her son, Little Gary.

"Mommy, it's alright. I just want to go back. I only want to be with you today," he murmured softly.

When Heinz heard his words, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Grace, let's just send him home," Heinz said. 'TH get

Alex to send the both of you back."

Grace stiffened. It was out of character for Heinz to ask the both of them to return home at this timing.

Usually, he would ask them to stay for dinner.

It was obvious that something had happened.

However, Grace considered Little Gary's feelings and nodded. "I'll take him home first."

'TH replace you later," Heinz agreed.

"No!" Little Gary suddenly shouted.

Grace was stunned. She didn't expect the child to be so hostile towards Heinz.

Heinz was also startled.

"We'll see." Grace held Little Gary's hand and left.

As Alex drove the both of them away, Grace looked out of the window and saw Heinz staring after them in the yard, his eyes filled with frustration and dejection. Grace really had no idea about what had happened.

Looking over at her quiet son, she knew that it wasn't like him to act like a brat. Something must have happened.

Soon, they arrived home.

As soon as they entered the house, she asked. "Tell me. What happened with Dad?"

Little Gary did not answer. He continued to take off his shoes in silence.

"Have you had an argument with each other?" She continued to press on.

When he finished changing into slippers, he hugged her tightly.

Grace could feel that the child was feeling down. She frowned slightly. "Sweetie, what exactly happened?"

"Mommy, I fought with Heinz." After struggling internally, Little Gary still chose not to reveal the truth about the test results.

Heinz had asked for one week's time. Little Gary really wanted to refuse him, but he didn't want to see his mother worrying. Hence, he decided not to say anything.

"Why?" Grace lowered her body, looking straight into his eyes.

As Little Gary met her gaze, he realized that her warm eyes were filled with worry. She hadn't blamed him at all.

Little Gary shook his head and found an excuse. "I'm jealous."

"Huh?" Grace was startled. "Jealous of what?"

"Dad is too nice to Ernest." Little Gary said, "I'm jealous. I know I shouldn't have acted out, but I couldn't hold myself back."

Grace was very surprised. It wasn't like Little Gary to envy other kids, but hearing him say that was really surprising.

Grace smiled. "Don't be angry or jealous. Your father told you about Ernest, he has been sold off by his parents ever since he was a child. Don't fight with him over your father's love, we should sympathize with him instead."

"I believe that Daddy really loves you as well. Don't blame him, he only wants to be a good father to you.'1

"Whether it's his adopted son or biological son, he only wants the best for the both of you. That's his only intention."

"If he can treat a child who isn't his own blood kindly, of course he will love his own son who's related to him even more."

"Am I right, dear?"

"Mommy." Gary was starting to worry about his mother's innocent and trusting nature. He asked, "What if Ernest really is Daddy's own blood? Maybe Heinz was lying to you. He's so nice to him because Ernest really is his son."

"Haha, you actually got jealous, didn't you?" Grace held her son's face in her hands and said gently, "Silly child, I believe that Daddy is not such a person. I believe him."

Little Gary frowned, sighing internally.

Heinz really was something else.

Little Gary couldn't bear to see Grace sad, so he could only lower his eyes and say softly, "Alright, Mommy, you can trust Heinz."

"What about you? Shouldn't you call Daddy and apologize to him?"

"I don't want to." Little Gary shook his head firmly and stalked off to his room. When Grace saw that her son was throwing a fit, she could only sigh in her heart. After a change of clothes, she brought a glass of water into Little Gary's room.

"Sweetie, tell me, is it really because you're jealous that you're mad at Daddy?"

Little Gary's heart skipped a beat. His eyes met Grace's, and he felt increasingly worried. Although he felt guilty about it, he still didn't want her to be angry. "Yes, Mommy. I'm not in a good mood right now. I I won't call him."

"Then rest for a bit." Grace put down the glass, patted her son's head and left the room.

She headed to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

Right at that moment, Alex came over with some food.

"Miss Smith, the president ordered me to send you some fruits and vegetables. He will come over in the evening," he said.

"Okay." Grace smiled and said, "I'm sorry you had to see that. Thank you."

"It's alright," he replied.

Alex quickly left.

Grace proceeded to cook a meal for herself and Little Gary.

At eleven o'clock in the night, Grace received a text from Heinz after Little Gary had fallen asleep.

"I'm downstairs. Can I go up now?" The text read.

Grace immediately called him. "You can come up now."

A few minutes later, Heinz was at the door. As soon as he entered, Grace could hear him sighing before she had even said anything.

She paused, realizing that both Heinz and Little Gary were feeling down.

"Little Gary really has something against you." She smiled and walked over to him. "He's jealous of Ernest. I thought something bad happened. I didn't expect him to throw a fit over such a small matter." "He said that?" Heinz was stunned. He thought that Little Gary would have told Grace everything.

However, when he observed her expression carefully, he found that there was nothing unusual about it. The child really didn't mention anything to her.

On his way over, he was facing an internal war in his heart. He had planned to confess everything to Grace.

Now that he realized she was still clueless about everything, he felt a sense of guilt instead.

Should he tell her, or should he not?

"Of course. Didn't you guys fight over this?" Grace raised an eyebrow at him.

"Err..." Heinz quickly replied, "Yes!"

"Have you eaten?" She asked.

Heinz halted his movements. Suddenly, he stepped forward and held her tightly in his arms.

With all his strength, he embraced her into a tight hug.

Stunned, Grace asked softly. "What's the matter?"

He only held her tighter.

He engulfed her in an embrace with every ounce of strength he had.

Grace could even hear his heart beating against his chest.

She wasn't used to them embracing each other this way. She noticed that his chest was really broad, and it was really warm.

After a long while, he took a deep breath. "Grace Smith, there's something that I have to tell you."

"What's the matter?" Grace was taken aback. "Why are you so serious all of a sudden?"

"Don't panic." Heinz said in a low voice. "It's... not a good thing."

Grace frowned slightly. "Go ahead and tell me."

Heinz raised his head and gently loosened his grip. With her still in his arms, he looked into her eyes.

She looked up at him. Those eyes of hers really were mesmerizing. Anyone could easily lose themselves in her eyes.

"Grace," Heinz said with a pained voice. "I've let you down."

He had made up his mind, so he might as well tell her the truth.

"What?" Grace was surprised again. "Why did you say that?"

She looked at him with widened eyes. The conflict in his eyes confused her all the more.
