Rosalie's brows creased as she repeated coldly, "You said that I'm mean?"

"What else? Are you kind and considerate?" Jensen retorted in a cold voice.

Rosalie's face froze.

"If you don't like it, you can tell me and you can also say it calmly. Why did you go and humiliate others? Who are you to do that?" Jensen continued calmly. "Alice is an independent person. She is a girl. Just because she appeared in my apartment, that made you dislike her and even hurt her. If she was a person with a weak mental state, she might have even committed suicide after being humiliated by you."

"Don't talk nonsense with me. I've already said it even if I shouldn't have. What do you want?"

"I don't want anything. I just want to tell you that I don't need you to worry about my affairs."

"Then who would worry for you?" Rosalie's eyes widened. She looked at Jensen and said in a deep voice, "Tell me, I am your mother. Don't I have the right?"

"For such a big thing like marriage, you don't have the right to help me make decisions," Jensen continued.

"You, you're really a b*stard." Rosalie started cursing.

"Mom!" Jensen didn't like such an extreme side of Rosalie. He looked at her and whispered, "Look at how ferocious you are now."

"You said that I'm ferocious?" Rosalie looked at her son in disbelief. "How dare you say that about me?"

"Dad must have gone out early in the morning. Does he still not care about the family as a middle-aged man? I don't think Dad doesn't care about his family. It's because you stayed at home and you don't ever give him a chance to breathe. So, he is not even willing to come back home."

Jensen believed that his father was a person who was passionate about his life. Just by looking at the flowers, plants, and vegetables outside, it was obvious that he was passionate.

However, because of Rosalie's suffocating temper, Jensen and his father didn't like to return home very much.

This had deeply hurt Rosalie. She was already very afraid of these things. When she heard Jensen's words, her face turned even paler.

Seeing the color of Rosalie's face fade away, Jensen felt a little bit sorry for her.

"My girlfriend and my future wife, will be Alice," Jensen stated in a low voice. "Whether you like her or not, I will marry her. If you like her, you can apologize to her and we can live in peace with each other. If you don't like her, then don't show up in front of us. We can mind our own business and not interfere with each other."

"You! You!" Rosalie almost stumbled and couldn't stand still.

Jensen did not say anything but turned around and left.

He felt suffocated in this house.

When he walked out of the door, he could feel Rosalie's gaze, which were like two sharp blades behind him.

He did not turn around. Instead, he left directly.

When he was ready to get in the car, he heard someone calling his name.

"Jensen!"

Jensen was stunned. He turned around and saw his father, Nelson, who was standing not far away. He was looking at him in surprise. Jensen said, "Dad!"

Nelson was wearing a set of gray sportswear. He was thin. Because he was an old policeman, he kept a good figure and also maintained a habit of exercising.

Jensen walked toward Nelson. When he came up to his father, he saw that Nelson's complexion was a little sallow and he seemed a little haggard.

"Why did you come back so early in the morning?" Nelson asked.

Jensen looked at him and there was a flash of helplessness in his eyes. "Dad, I came back to replace Mom."

Nelson's eyes were sharp as an old policeman, he looked at Jensen and said, "Did your mother screw you and your girlfriend over?"

This time, it was Jensen's turn to be shocked.

His eyes widened as he looked at Nelson.

"Let's go and have breakfast together." Nelson pointed outside the neighbourhood.

Jensen paused. He then smiled and said, "I'll treat you."

"Forget it. With that little money of yours, you'd better save it for your girlfriend." Nelson smiled and expressed that he understood him. Jensen did not expect Nelson to be so open-minded.

He nodded and said, "I'll drive you

there."

"Let's walk," Nelson said. "It's just a few steps away. Do some exercises. We won't have enough stamina if we keep driving everywhere."

"Yes!" Jensen did not insist.

They walked out of the neighborhood together, chatting with each other as they walked.

During the days when Rosalie was in the hospital, Jensen didn't see Nelson. He didn't know why he was so careless that he didn't go to the hospital. Perhaps this was also the reason why Rosalie had forced herself to leave the hospital.

"Jensen, your mother has troubled you recently," Nelson said.

"Dad, why are you so polite?" Jensen could not stand Nelson's politeness.

"How can I not be polite?" Nelson smiled and said, "You mom is my responsibility. I'm sorry to have caused you so much trouble."

"Dad, she's my mom!"

Nelson looked at Jensen and smiled. "You must be wondering why I haven't been to the hospital these days, right?"

"Yes!" Jensen nodded and admitted, "It's true that I'm a little curious." "Your mother's blood pressure is indeed high, but it was also caused by her own temper. What she needs is not only treatment, but also calmness." Nelson's bright eyes stared at Jensen and sighed. "In this special period, her temper isn't good. I can't persuade her, so I can only let her do whatever she wants in the end."

"Dad, Mom is on menopause," Jensen said.

"Your mom is too stubborn," Nelson added, "She thinks too highly of herself."

Jensen pursed his lips. Rosalie's character had a lot of flaws.

As they talked, they soon arrived at the breakfast place outside. Nelson pointed to the door of a cafe and said to him, "Let's eat here. It's been a long time since I last ate here." "Okay!" Jensen agreed.

Nelson asked for two plates. Then, they walked in together and chose a corner near the window. They sat down and ordered soup for two.

Nelson ate some pastries. Seeing that Jensen didn't touch his cutlery, he looked at Jensen calmly and said with a smile, "Eat up, don't be angry with your mother. Choose a time later to bring your girlfriend to meet me. I'll treat you two to a meal and I'll apologize to her on behalf of your mother. By then, I think your girlfriend won't blame you anymore. The girl you have chosen must be a good woman."

Hearing Nelson's words, Jensen's eyes were a little teary and his heart was filled with warmth.

He didn't expect that Nelson would say that, which made him feel a little ashamed. Initially, he thought that Nelson would be like Rosalie and oppose him.

He didn't expect Nelson to be so righteous.

He immediately felt a little sad and choked up. "Dad!"

Nelson smiled, his smile kind and gentle.

"How about today or tomorrow? Can you handle it?"

"Dad, she said she wanted to break up with me." Jensen did not hide the truth from his father. "Alice thinks that it will be difficult for me to be caught between Mom and her in the future." "This girl is very sensible," Nelson said with appreciation. "She's a good girl."
