Jensen paused as he recalled Candace's words. She hated the fact that he was a poor policeman.

Looking at Alice's apologetic look, he shook his head.

"It's okay, I didn't think much of it. It is a blessing to be with you, Alice."

"How could that be?" She shook her head in turn. "I'm very hot-tempered and very stubborn. You've always been the one tolerating me. I'm pretty clear about that."

"No, Alice, you're amazing," Jensen responded. "Although Candace's words are harsh, I am indeed a poor policeman. I can't give you a wealthy life and I have always put you in danger. These are facts." Alice froze, and then smiled. "I don't need wealth. I just want to be with you. I'm used to the days of having you by my side, Jensen."

He touched her back and patted her gently. He looked into her eyes, and knew that she had really accepted him.

She no longer had the thought of leaving him, and that was a good thing for the both of them.

It was just that Candace was really difficult to deal with. There was also the hidden danger that Jodie brought to Grace, which had not been eliminated.

If Grace's danger had not been eliminated, both she and Heinz would not live a good life, and Alice would be more worried about them. He would also worry about his best friend, Heinz, and he would worry about Alice even more.

After all, she could only take so much.

As he thought of this, Jensen's gaze dimmed. He was so worried that his lips were pursed into a straight line.

"I have to speed up the investigation," he stated.

"I believe in you." She nodded. She held his face as she looked at the man who was filled with worry, and started to comfort him, "Jensen, don't worry. Things will get better eventually."

"That's right, everything will get better." The two of them comforted each other.

Even so, Alice still noticed the worry in his gaze.

She had no choice but to use the alcohol in an attempt to comfort him.

As soon as she lowered her head, she kissed Jensen's lips.

His whole body froze, and he caught a whiff of the red wine, making him feel intoxicated.

He tightened his arms and held Alice.

The two of them were in each other's embrace.

Feeling the throbs brought by the gentle girl in his arms, Jensen felt very satisfied and happy. Something had changed inside of him.

He suddenly became domineering, and he couldn't hold himself back anymore after tasting her.

Jensen held Alice tightly, stood up, and walked into the bedroom.

Officer Charm, who was usually calm and had amazing self-restraint, had started to act like a young man who was passionately in love whenever he met Alice.

He set her on the bed.

The blush on her face indicated that she was slightly drunk, and that she trusted him enough.

He looked down at her, only wanting to dote on this woman.

Needless to say, the both of them enjoyed the night together.

After that, she laid on the bed, feeling as if her entire body was weak.

Jensen held her in his arms, and she soon fell asleep.

It was already past midnight when the phone rang.

It was Alice's phone that rang. When she looked at the phone number, she found that it was an unknown number.

Jensen turned on the silent mode immediately. He went out and answered the phone.

Candace's voice came from the other end of the phone before he could say anything. She said, "I'm downstairs. Come down right now."

"Madam Lowe," Jensen greeted blandly. "Will you ever stop?"

"It's you?" Candace snorted. "Jensen, what are you doing with Alice's phone?"

"What on earth do you want by calling her in the middle of the night, and not allowing her to sleep?" He questioned.

"I'm looking for my daughter."

"Do you even have a daughter?" He questioned in a cold voice. "Didn't you abandon her a long time ago? And now, you're thinking of looking for her?"

"Jensen, don't count your eggs before they hatch," Candace returned. "Let me tell you, there will be a day when you will lose. You and Alice may not last till the end. There are many unknown factors in life. When I was with Alice's father, I also thought that he was the best person in my life, and we could make it to the end, but in fact, we didn't."

"You didn't make it to the end with him because you were too self-righteous and heartless," Jensen retorted. As he said so, he took his clothes and began to change into them. It seemed that he must go and meet this woman. "Alice and I will be together forever because we know how to cherish each other."

Candace laughed ironically as she scoffed, "Don't be so sure of yourself. Nothing is absolute. Life tends to be hard for the arrogant people."

"What on earth do you want?" He asked. He really did not know why this woman was not sleeping, but was instead pestering Alice in the middle of the night.

"Me?" She ordered, "Call Alice down. I have something to talk to her about alone."

"She won't see you," Jensen immediately refused. "You'd better give up."

By the time he hung up the phone, he had already put on his clothes and was about to leave.

He wanted to see what this woman wanted to do.

Jensen walked down the stairs. He did not take the elevator because he did not want others to know his tracks.

Soon, he went out from the safety exit and arrived outside. Without stopping, he went straight outside, took out his phone and sent a text message to Heinz.

"Candace is up in the middle of the night and began to harass Alice again. Watch out, she might harass Grace again."

After sending the message, Jensen saw a car parked in the residence. It was Candace's car.

Jensen frowned. Not everyone could enter Hart Villa District casually. She had to have the house number and car registration number at least, otherwise it was impossible for her to enter directly. Jensen did not walk to the car, but instead went to the guard at the entrance.

When he arrived at the gate and saw the guard, he went straight in and took out his police officer's ID card. "My colleague is also a resident here. I want to know about a situation." "Hello, sir." The guard stood up right away and asked respectfully, "What do you want to know about?"

Jensen glanced at the surveillance video in the security room and saw Candace's car on it at a glance.

He pointed to the screen and asked, "How did this car get into our residence area?"

"Oh." The guard clicked on the screen, magnified it, and saw the car registration number as well as the woman in the car.

She was sitting alone in the car and talking on the phone. She seemed to be very impatient.

Jensen squinted and looked at her carefully. She was making a phone call in the middle of the night with an impatient expression. It was not for Alice, as he had turned on the silent mode for her phone. Could it be that she was calling Grace?

Heinz didn't reply, so he didn't know what was going on.

"Sir, the person who registered this car is an owner of the property here, and the owner has registered for her to get in and out freely."

"Who is it?" Jensen's heart thumped suddenly. The discovery of this situation was very exciting.

"Aaron Clarke," the guard answered. "It's registered under Mr. Aaron's name. There's another car which is also registered under his name."
