True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 786
Jensen's heart throbbed wildly all of a sudden.
There was an unspeakable feeling in his heart, which made him fall into a trance for a brief moment.
He was in a daze.
Was there any connection between Candace and Aaron?
What the hell was going on?
"Give me a copy of this page with his registration record," Jensen ordered in a low voice. "Find this video for me as well. Screen all the videos about this vehicle and make a copy for me. Also, replace out all the videos where the woman in this car appeared."
"Do you want it now?" The guard asked in surprise.
"I want it now." Jensen picked up the phone. "I'll ask my subordinates to cooperate with you."
He called back to the police station and instructed, "Lilian, bring someone to Hart Villa District right now. I have a video that I need you to deal with."
After he had done arranging everything, he hung up the phone and gave Heinz a call.
Heinz, who had just finished making love with Grace, was holding her in his arms and about to sleep. When the phone rang, he saw it was Jensen. He immediately asked, "What's wrong? What happened?" "Heinz, there's something new," Jensen said in a low voice.
Heinz's brows furrowed as he inquired, "What's up?"
"Send over a few people whom you can count on to Hart Villa District first. I will come to you later," Jensen stated in a deep voice, "I will tell you the full story after I get the evidence later." "Okay." Heinz didn't ask for any more details.
He arranged for his subordinates to head over right away.
Jensen's subordinates arrived very soon, almost at the same time as Alex.
"Alex, you are just in time. Do you see this car? Arrest Candace, take her to Heinz's place, and lock her up in a hidden house," Jensen ordered.
"Isn't she Miss Smith's mother?" Alex asked. He took a glance at the woman and recognized that she was Candace.
"Yes." Jensen nodded. "Ask my subordinates to handcuff her and take her away."
"Yes!" Alex nodded.
After Jensen finished telling them about the video investigation, he returned to Hart Villa District right away.
Alice was still sleeping. He couldn't bear to wake her up and involve her in this.
He left her a note on the bedside table before leaving.
Twenty minutes later, he met Heinz.
Grace also got up. She and Heinz were both surprised to see Jensen rushing over in the middle of the night.
"What's the urgency?"
Jensen quickly answered, "I found that Candace had driven over to Hart Villa District and it's registered under Aaron's name."
Grace froze. She stared at Jensen in disbelief, and she almost thought that she had misheard him.
"What did you say?"
"I'm so surprised too," Jensen remarked. "I've checked the registration record from the guards at the entrance. I've also arranged for someone to investigate whether Candace has a relationship with Aaron."
Grace felt shocked to the core.
Aaron?
Her own mother?
What relationship did they have with each other?
Both of them didn't look like people who would know each other at all. Why would they be related?
Grace didn't dare to think about it.
If they were indeed related, then it was self-evident about her news.
"D*mn it, things don't look good," Heinz cursed. He frowned as he looked at Grace with a complicated and worried gaze.
She pursed her lips into a thin line.
After a short moment of shock, she asked Jensen immediately, "Officer Charm, why did Candace go to Hart Villa District today?"
"To look for Alice," Jensen answered. "She claimed that she wanted to have a talk with her. It was something about breaking us up. After that, she said something mean to Alice. She was really angry, and she slapped Candace."
Grace paused in shock.
Jensen then continued, "Alice did it for you. As you know, she does not care about herself, but she cares about you."
Grace felt her heart break at his words. Without needing to ask them any further, she already understood what was going on. "I understand what you mean. Candace said something that was hurtful to me, but Alice couldn't stand it. Therefore, she stood up for me. Is that what you meant?"
He nodded. "That's right."
She sat down on the sofa and said, "Have a seat first and let me think about it."
Heinz and Jensen both sat down.
Many scenes flashed before Grace's mind.
Jensen's phone rang.
He answered it immediately and turned on the hands-free mode. A male voice sounded from the phone, reporting, "Boss, we found it. Candace went to Aaron's home on the night of 25th, which is five days ago."
"Five days ago?" Jensen was astonished.
Grace and Heinz were both startled too.
It was not long before the news broke out.
Why was it such a coincidence?
After putting her arms around herself, Grace felt a chill go down her spine, and all over her heart.
She did not know what this meant, but it was definitely not a good thing.
"Is there anything else?" Jensen asked.
"No, she just went there once that night, and then the next time her car appeared was when she met with you and Miss Smith. After that, she didn't leave, and waited for you downstairs," the subordinate answered.
"Where is she now?"
"Mr. Logan has already taken her away," the subordinate responded. "She was yelling that she wanted to call the cops just now. Mr. Logan has gagged her."
"Very well," Jensen replied. "Check again to see if anything is amiss, and then go back to rest."
"Yes, sir!"
After hanging up the phone, Jensen looked at Grace, who was in a daze, and realized that his words might've been a little too harsh. After all, she was her mother. "Grace, I'm sorry," he quickly apologized. "You don't need to apologize." She naturally knew that Jensen was apologizing for the fact that Alex had gagged Candace.
"Since she can do what she did, she should bear the consequences," Grace stated. "I want to see her. Where are you going to take her
later?"
"Grace." Heinz then suggested, "It's better for you to see her tomorrow."
"No!" She immediately refused. "I want to meet her tonight. I'll go and change my clothes. Please wait for me for a moment."
Soon, she headed back to her room, changed her clothes, and tied up her hair.
Heinz and Jensen exchanged looks as they waited for her.
Jensen was a little worried as he asked, "Is it the right time for Grace to meet Candace later?"
"Perhaps this will achieve some of Candace's purposes," Heinz remarked. "I'll replace an opportunity to persuade Grace later, and see if she can hold on a little longer to meet her next time."
Just then, Grace happened to have come out and heard their conversation.
After a moment's hesitation, she realized that she had been indeed a little too anxious. She took a deep breath before walking over to Heinz. "Let's go. I'm just going to take a look. I won't let her see me. You're right. It's not the right time now. The more she wants to see me, the less I will allow for it."
When he heard these words, Heinz's gaze
flashed with surprise and joy. He nodded as he praised, "You know what you should do. That's great."
Grace smiled at him and said, "Let's go."
"Okay."
Soon, their car arrived at the place where Candace had temporarily been locked up.
