True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 801
Rosalie wa furious.
"You're still not breaking up with her yet? I know that her sister is having an affair with Heinz. Look, she's a mistress, her sister!"
Jensen quickly interrupted his mother's words. "Mom! You must have been paying attention to that old news. Since you're holding a grudge against them, I bet you won't notice the news that Jodie had betrayed Heinz. Even if you have seen it, you'll not admit to it. All you intend to do is to badger me into breaking up with Alice with that false news."
"Her sister is a mistress. Can she be a good person?"
"Her sister is not a mistress. You don't have to say anything more. I'm going to marry Alice," said Jensen in a cold voice.
Rosalie was dumbstruck, "What? You're going to marry her?"
Jensen said in a deep voice, "Yes. I'm getting the marriage certificate today. Where is our civil registry book?"
Rosalie was instantly filled with anger and she replied firmly, "That's impossible. You can't marry her. You'll replace a better wife."
"I like Alice," Jensen went into the house to look for the civil registry book.
Rosalie stood up in a rush and followed him inside to stop him. "How dare you? Don't you dare marry her! I will definitely not allow that to happen. I've locked the civil registry book in the safe. I've been on guard since I found out that you're with her. I've changed its password. You won't be able to get the civil registry book now."
Jensen was filled with rage. He frowned and said, "Mom, you're too much."
Rosalie said disapprovingly, "You are going to get married to a woman I don't like. Do I still care whether I've gone too far or not?"
"What's wrong with Alice that you hate her so much?"
Rosalie said coldly, "She's coquettish. All she has done during the day is to sleep with you. What kind of good person could she be? I think she'll drain you off sooner or later."
Jensen took a deep breath and replied, "Mom, you have also been young. You should know that no one can stop young people when they are together. It is exactly why I want to be with Alice. You only blame Alice, but you don't complain about me. That's very unreasonable."
Rosalie sneered. "Humph! You don't have to tell me this. I know you don't regard me as a mother in your heart right now. Anyway, you can't get married to her. Without the civil registry book, you won't be able to do it."
Jensen squinted and he was looking at his mother in front of him with sorrowful eyes when he asked, "Mom, I'll ask you once more. Do you prefer to hand it over to me, or I'll have to do it using my own way? "I won't give it to you," Rosalie said indifferently.
It looked like it had been decided.
Jensen stared intensely at her and said, "Mom, you seem to forget what I do. I could ask my colleague in the civil registration department to issue me a new civil registry book. I can get married at any time." Rosalie frowned and she started to panic.
She suddenly raised her head, and her eyes met Jensen's gaze. She looked at him callously and said, "If you dare to marry her, I will kill myself today. I want your wedding anniversary to become the anniversary of my death."
Jensen was startled. It seemed that his mother was very resolute.
He also said in an antagonising tone, "What kind of coffin would you like? I can prepare it for you."
Rosalie's body staggered and her face turned green. She was overwhelmed with shame and vexation and she said, "Get lost. I don't want to see you anymore."
"Me too," Jensen said apathetically before he turned around and walked out.
When he got out of the house, he immediately called his father.
"Dad, I'm going to marry Alice today."
"Really?"
"Dad, you should come back and look after mom. She doesn't agree with me. I have to get the marriage certificate today. I'm afraid something will happen."
His father then replied, "Don't worry about that. I'll go home right now. You can go and get your marriage certificate with Alice. The earlier the marriage is settled, the earlier I can have a grandchild." "Well, thank you, Dad. I'm leaving," Jensen choked with sobs when he was saying that. He really appreciated his father for his support,
His father smiled and said, "Son, I wish the two of you a lifetime of happiness. I'm very pleased that you're finally getting married. Just get the certificate first. As for the rest, we can take it slow."
"Yes," Jensen replied. Afterward, he hung up the phone and returned to the car. Then he called his friend at the civil registration department. "This is Jensen. My old friend, can you do me a favor? I've lost my civil registry book."
"We need your ID card."
"I'll get it for you right away."
"Then I'll get it done for you now and you can follow up with the formalities later."
"Thank you."
Soon, Jensen got a fresh, new civil register book. The scent of the rubber cover was still lingering.
He put it in his pocket and called his father. "Dad, have you reached home?"
"I'm back. Don't worry," said his father on the phone.
"Alright, I understand." Only then did Jensen relax slightly.
After hanging up the phone and holding the civil registry book, Jensen lit a cigarette and breathed a sigh of relief.
He felt that since Alice had proposed to him verbally, he should do something in return for her enthusiasm.
Jensen soon drove to meet up with Heinz.
As soon as he entered the door, he saw them sitting in the living room and they were snacking on fruits. There were two civil registry books and three ID cards on the coffee table.
Jensen felt a surge of warmth at the sight. He walked over and placed his ID card and the newly printed civil registry book on the coffee table. Then, he sat down to look at Alice, with elation in his eyes. Alice was also exhilarated. Seeing his civil registry book, she was thrilled. Initially, she was still uneasy and thought that Jensen could not bring it there in time.
She flushed and said, "I thought your mother would refuse it and we wouldn't be able to get a marriage certificate today."
Upon hearing this, Jensen felt a slight pain in his heart. He knew that his mother had inflicted a deep pain and trauma on Alice, causing her discomfort.
Looking at Alice, Jensen's eyes were filled with sadness. After a slight pause, he said, "At first, I thought it'd be better if I hide it from you but now that I think of it, if I don't tell you the truth, you may be dejected in the future, so I'd better be honest with you."
Alice was perplexed. She looked at Jensen in dismay and there was a slight trembling in her voice when she asked, "What's wrong? Can't you get married?"
"No," Jensen shook his head at once.
Grace and Heinz were also concerned about that and they asked, "Didn't it go well?"
Jensen let out a long sigh and said, "I went back home when I received Alice's proposal. It turned out that my mother did not agree. She locked the civil registry book in the safe and changed its password, but she forgot I am a policeman. My colleagues in the civil registration department can help me to reapply for a new civil registry book."
Alice knew that Jensen's mother would not agree. However, she didn't expect her to be so direct.
"So this civil registry book is a newly printed one. So, we can use it for marriage and no one can stop us," Jensen said determinedly. Alice was a little gloomy and depressed. After all, she would not be comfortable when an objection was raised to her marriage.
However, she was satisfied that Jensen told her the truth.
She nodded and said, "Jensen, will your mother be unhappy if we get married in this way?"
Jensen said, "Alice, we don't need to care about her now. I think that she'll be unhappy as long as we are together. I know her well. She will always be like that if she doesn't like it."
"If we want to improve the relationship between us and her, maybe there will be some improvements in the future when we have children. No matter what, I have to marry you. So, don't think about it anymore. It's no use."
"Our own marriage can only be decided by ourselves."
After that, Jensen said to Grace and Heinz, "I'll talk to Alice in the room. Please give us fifteen minutes, okay?"
Grace nodded and replied, "I also want to talk to Heinz. You go ahead. We will meet here after fifteen minutes."
"Okay!" After saying that, Jensen took Alice's hand and entered the guest room where he used to stay.
After entering, he looked at Alice in a dignified manner and said, "Alice, listen carefully. We don't have to consider my parents. My mother disagrees, but my father supports us."
"He is very joyful to hear that we're going to get married. We only need to think about ourselves now. Are you really sure that you want to marry a poor police officer like me?" "First of all, you need to think it through and not act on impulse."
"I'm just a policeman and I may not be able to provide you with material wealth."
"However, I can grow old with you together. I promise that I'll give you all of my salaries and let you handle it, even if it's just a small amount of money."
"I also promise you that I'll adore you in the future, just like the way I dote on my daughter. I'll let you feel comfortable and at home when you live with me."
"I'll care for your feelings and I'll be devoted to our marriage. No other woman will ever come between us."
"I, Jensen Charm, will have you as the only woman in my life. I won't take a look at the other women even if they are insanely beautiful."
"You will be the only one around me forever. This is a promise that I can make, to love you with all my heart and to cherish you."
"However, I really dare not to promise anything in terms of finances."
"Even so, are you still willing to marry me?"
Jensen looked at Alice with great hope, hoping for her positive response.
He was a few years older than Alice, hence he was a little more mature. He knew well that he should give Alice a chance to think clearly about it before they get married. She shouldn't just do it blindly. Being a man, he should treat marriage rationally.
He would guide her.
Alice was moved, and her eyes glazed over. Looking at Jensen, she nodded solemnly and said, "Jensen, of course I am willing to marry you. I have already decided that I won't marry a man other than you." Jensen was touched by that. He smiled slightly, and the worry in his eyes was replaced by surprise and pleasure.
