True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 808
"Cancer?"
Heinz repeated in disbelief. "Are you sure?"
The doctor then replied, "Mr. Jones, this is not a joke. I wouldn't dare to joke around with this. The blood indicators show that she has many health problems, but it's difficult to determine where the problem lies. We have to examine her using a more precise instrument in order to locate the tumor."
Heinz thought for a moment and then said softly, "Okay. I get it. You can arrange for it first, and we will conduct the examination at any time."
"Alright."
After hanging up the phone, Heinz didn't know how to tell Grace about this.
Grace could already sense the slight change in his emotions.
She looked at Heinz and couldn't help but to ask, "Did the doctor call you?"
Heinz paused, uncertain about how to talk to Grace about this matter.
Grace asked again, "Did you receive any news about Candace?"
Heinz nodded. "You're right. The call just now was from the hospital."
"The results from the hospital are out?" Grace asked in surprise. She immediately realized something as her expression grew slightly stiffer. After a slight pause, she asked, "You were talking about cancer just now. Is it about her?"
Heinz knew he couldn't hide it anymore, so he had to confess. "Yes, she might have cancer, but it's not certain yet. She has to undergo a comprehensive examination in order for us to know more. I think that maybe the results won't be too bad."
Grace was stunned. "It's unsure yet? So it's just suspected to be cancer?"
Heinz didn't know how to reply. All he could say was, "Grace, listen to me, what I know is that it's confirmed that she has cancer. However, they're still not sure of its location. They have to use a precise instrument to check and see where the tumor is growing."
Grace was dumbfounded.
As she stood there, she felt that her legs were so heavy that she couldn't even take a single step.
Candace had cancer!
Grace pursed her lips. She was struggling internally, and she was worried.
As he looked at Grace's reaction, Heinz finally understood what 'kinship' meant.
That was to say, even though she was severely hurt and could no longer bear the burden, she would still worry about her mother once she was sick.
Perhaps this was just due to blood relations.
It was so magical that she couldn't help it but to worry and care about her mother.
Heinz couldn't bear to look at her in this way. He felt sorry for her, but he was so conflicted about what to do.
As Grace stood there, mixed feelings built up in her eyes, and she bit her lip so hard that blood almost seeped out.
Heinz paused slightly before suggesting, "Let's visit her."
"I'm not going." Grace immediately shook her head.
However, Heinz knew that this was not her true intentions. He continued. "Three hours have passed since we came back in the afternoon. She should be well rested now. Let's wake her up now and ask about her situation."
"I'm not going." Grace repeated.
Heinz lowered his gaze and stared at her. "We can't allow her to undergo a full-body examination if we stay here. Trust me, you'll be more worried if you don't go."
After thinking for a while, she looked up and met Heinz's eyes. He understood her feelings.
He could see through her completely. She looked at him in a daze. After a long while, she finally admitted it.
"Heinz, I'm so useless. I'm actually worried about her," Grace muttered.
How could Heinz not know about this? He could read her mind.
Candace was her mother, the one who had given birth to her and raised her. If she had no feelings towards her at all, wouldn't she just be a cold-blooded animal?
To Heinz, it was her feelings that made Grace feel more humane.
No matter how angry or sad she was, her mother was still her mother.
It was normal for her to be anxious about her mother.
Heinz comforted her. "It's okay. It will be strange if you don't worry about her at all. She is your mother, and there's nothing to be ashamed of if you care about her. You don't have to think about me. Just follow your heart, and do whatever you want."
Tears welled up in her eyes.
An inexplicable emotion flashed across her eyes, and she could not express the conflict in her heart.
"My instinct tells me that it's nothing to be concerned about. However, my feelings are bonded to her. I'll still subconsciously think about her. When I came to know that she was sick, I felt so frightened, as if I'd suddenly missed my footing and stumbled over," Grace said in a low voice as she expressed her feelings.
"Come with me." Heinz held her hand and took her out of the room.
"Alice." Grace suddenly remembered. "Ask her to come with us."
"Alice," Heinz called out gruffly.
"I'm coming." Alice had been feeling apprehensive since she came back. Jensen did not go to work. So he accompanied her.
The four of them met in the courtyard. Needless to say, they knew who they were about to meet.
Alice didn't ask any questions. When she saw Grace, she went over and held her sister's hands. "Grace."
Grace nodded and said, "Let's go and see her.
She's not in a good condition."
Alice was about to ask something, but eventually she didn't open her mouth.
Jensen then turned to her and ask, "What's wrong?"
Heinz explained, "She might have cancer. The results based on her blood sample show that she is having a health problem. The doctors suspected that she is suffering from cancer and they asked us to take her for a comprehensive examination. Let's visit her now. We'll conduct a full-body examination for her tonight."
He planned to run the examination as soon as possible so that Grace and Alice could feel at ease.
"What?" Jensen was also shocked. He quickly nodded and said, "Let's go first. If a checkup is needed, let's get it done earlier."
Soon, they arrived at the house where Candace was being imprisoned. When they arrived, Alex quickly came over and said to them, "She just woke up and is sitting idly on the bed."
As he spoke, Alex showed them the video.
On the screen, it could be seen that Candace had washed her face, and her hair was disheveled as it hung loosely over her shoulders. She sat in the middle of the bed in silence. Heinz frowned and asked in a deep voice, "How long has it been?"
"About half an hour, she has been sleeping for more than two hours. When she woke up, she washed her face and hair. Then, she sat there and said nothing. She didn't even refuse the anti-hypertensive drug that we gave her."
"Have you asked about her condition?" Grace immediately asked Alex.
Alex nodded and answered, "I told her you had been here before, allowing her to sleep on the bed and also hired a doctor to examine her. She fell silent, and didn't cause any trouble since then."
