After so many years, they finally held hands again.

Timothy's pupils contracted uncontrollably. A tinge of pain flashed across his eyes as he held the pair of old and pale hands.

Memories of the past kept flashing through his mind, but he could not go back.

Why didn't he just propose back then?

Why did he have such a huge ego back then?

Why didn't he lower his head to say some heartfelt words? Was his ego that in power?

Even up to the point of loss, he would hide in a corner and secretly lick his wound. What was the point of having that ridiculous ego?

Now, they all had their own families and children, but when he woke up at night, he always had insomnia. The regret in their hearts. Now, they were standing so close to each other. Why bother to recall the memories of the past when they met again?

However, no matter how hard he tried, his heart couldn't help missing her and reminiscing.

Candace also held his hand and wanted to do it with a little strength, but she couldn't do it.

She didn't seem to be able to do it.

When she came down from the top floor while hanging on the sheets, she had exhausted all her strength.

She pulled her lips awkwardly, smiled, and said, "I don't seem to be able to get out of the car. Can you drag me down?"

He stared deeply at her, as if he was still deciding. He stooped down and carried her out all of a sudden.

Both of them were stunned.

She probably didn't expect him to reach out to hold her, so she was also surprised. It was not until he carried her that she reacted.

She immediately turned around and did not look at him.

Both of them felt awkward, and neither of them spoke.

Holding this woman again, Timothy found she was so light that she barely had any weight on her left.

How could she be so light?

He carried Candace out of the car and walked to the other side of the flower field. When they arrived, there was a huge stone, which was the boundary marker of the flower field. He put her on it. Sitting on a huge stone, an embarrassed look flashed across her eyes.

She looked at the mountains and rivers in the distance and said softly, "The air here is so fresh. Over the years, when I dream at night, I always think of this place and many things from the past." Timothy stood there like a sculpture. He pursed his lips tightly together and didn't speak. He just listened to her quietly.

"Timothy, I'm sorry!"

She suddenly apologized.

This made the man in front of her a little stunned, and he almost looked at Candace in disbelief.

In the dark, she also turned to look at him and said with a gentle smile, "Are you wondering why I apologized to you? It seems that I have never apologized to anyone." "You really are not the kind of person to apologize easily." Timothy knew Candace. She would never admit to her mistakes even if she was dead drunk.

"

"Over the past few years, I did not appear when my mother passed away. I didn't see her in her last days. I hated her for not showing up at all. I didn't send her off. When she died, she didn't even have a single family member by her side. I don't feel sorry for her because this is the path she chose. When she left home, it caused misfortune in my whole life. She was happy, but I felt inferior all my life."

He was stunned. He knew more or less about Candace and her mother.

"But I'm apologizing to you. I am indeed sorry. I owe you an apology." She turned to look at him and said sincerely.

"Don't apologize to me. I don't want to hear this," he finally said.

"You don't say it, but you have been waiting. Over the years, you have been competing with me secretly, and you have been observing my life, just like I have been observing your life."

"But I really didn't know that you were married. You protected yourself very well. This is also very good. I wish you happiness, Timothy."

"I give you my blessing for a new family and a new child."

"At least in your lifetime, you didn't take me too seriously. It's good for you in your life. With family in place, you won't be alone in the future. Cherish your family!" "Candace, what are you trying to say?" He looked at the woman in front of him with red eyes and said emotionally.

"I want to say that I have no purpose in this life. Why do I seem to be particularly confused? I don't know what I should want and which step is right or wrong. After I walked this path, I realized that I seemed to have taken the wrong step every time, but I didn't have the courage nor the power to turn back."

"I can only go forward. Even if I am wrong, I can only go forward. Fortunately, I have encountered the most beautiful love. I am so ugly now, and yet he didn't abandon me, but so what? My life is at its end and don't love him."

Timothy was astonished again. "You don't love him. Then why are you with him? You also said that you had a baby with him. Who is that man?"

"If I told you, will you keep it a secret for me?"

Timothy took a deep breath and said, "If there is a need, I will keep it a secret for you."

"Of course there is a need for this, because that man is Heinz's father. Your daughter, Grace's father-in-law. I had a child with him. He is 8 years old, and he is both Heinz and Grace's brother. Is it funny?" "I never dreamt that Grace would be with Heinz. Besides, they have two lovely children. Do you think this is a punishment?"

"Is it the craziest retribution that even I have always been proud but I have to face the music now?"

Timothy was also shocked by this complicated relationship and didn't know what to say.

"Does Grace know?" He couldn't help but ask.

"I don't know." Candace shook his head and said, "I don't know if Grace knows or not. I don't think she knows, because I didn't tell her. It was too hard for me to tell her about this relationship." "It's really hard to say." He nodded. "But where is the child now?"

"I sent him to Grace and asked her and Heinz to take care of him. I'm dying, so I can only let her take care of him. I don't trust the others."

Hearing this, Timothy was shocked and raised his voice, "You let Grace take care of your child, but you didn't tell her the truth. Don't you think you're too much? Even if you can't hide the truth, it's immoral for you to do this!" "So what if it's immoral?" She retorted, "Don't tell me I shouldn't raise a child?"

"Since you can't raise a child, you shouldn't have given birth to one!"

"When I was alive, I didn't know I was going to die so soon!"
