True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 932
When Timothy was gone, it was only Lawrence and Candace left in the room. The atmosphere was terrifyingly quiet.
Lawrence stared fixedly at Candace, and the atmosphere suddenly became stiff. They could almost hear each other's heavy breathing in the silence.
Candace lowered her gaze and her long eyelashes trembled slightly. She pressed her lips together. As if she had made up her mind, she said, "I know you hate me to death now."
"It's good that you know." Every word Lawrence uttered was as cold as an obsidian blade.
However, Candace was not afraid. She just pursed her lips and said with a self-deprecating smile, "Lawrence, I don't want to hide it from you anymore. I really never loved you, not even once, not in the slightest. So, Lawrence, you can kill me if you want."
"You shameless woman. All these years, you've been putting on an act, saying that you loved me everyday. Was that all fake?" Lawrence took a breath of air, and the scent of blood rushed up again. He used all of his strength to suppress it, forcefully pushing it down.
"Yes, I had put on an act. You've chosen your words well. I've been acting all these years." Candace admitted. "That's right. It was an act. Everything was an act."
"You're really a good actor." Lawrence sneered mockingly. "It's a pity that you didn't get an Oscar for Best Actress."
"No, I'm already the best actress." Candace smiled as she said, "I'm the best actress in my own life. I have been acting all my life. I left the man I loved the most. I stayed with the men I didn't love for decades and even had children with them. My life is entirely dependent on acting!"
"Despicable!" Lawrence spat through gritted teeth.
Candace laughed and sneered back. "Why do you have to be so angry? We're all adults. You blame others when you lose, but it's all your fault."
"Candace, I'm warning you, you'd best not provoke me anymore." Lawrence trembled with anger. He was livid after replaceing out he'd been lied to.
"Lawrence, I don't love you at all. Why should I love you? Who do you think you are? Don't you think it's ridiculous that you still talk about love at such an old age?" "Fine, you're such a b*tch. I've finally gotten to know what kind of person you are today!" Lawrence roared. "Candace, you're ruthless. You really made a fool out of me. It turns out that I've been a joke all these years."
"Isn't it? You've always been a joke all these years. What did you think it was? Did you really consider it as love? Don't you feel ashamed to talk about love at such an old age? Don't you feel disgusted? Be realistic, Lawrence." Candace's smile became more brilliant. "I don't believe in that kind of thing anymore."
"You shameless woman." Lawrence narrowed his eyes and stared fiercely at Candace. His gaze never left her face, and the hostility in his voice was even more chilling. "If you didn't believe in love, why did you want to get close to me?"
"You're desperate for love." Candace smiled faintly. Her eyes flashed as she looked at Lawrence and said, "You always show how desperate you are. How can I not feel bad for you? I pity you. You were missing something. So, I helped fill that void. We both gave and took."
"What about Lowell?" Lawrence couldn't stand Candace's expression. "What can you say about Lowell?"
"About why we had a kid?" Candace laughed. "That's because I like kids, and I was willing to have one. There's no reason in particular. What do you want me to say? That it was the product of our love? How stupid, don't joke around."
"You!" Lawrence exclaimed.
"I had three children with three different men. If I needed to, I would have had ten children with ten men. It's a pity that I don't have much time left." "Shameless, disgusting b*tch." Lawrence reprimanded angrily. "Do you even value your reputation?"
"If I valued my reputation, would I have had children with three different men?" Candace retorted. "If you value your reputation, would you be with me? Would you have been with Heinz's mother for so many years? Reputation is something that many people don't want, but they act as if they do. That's what's really disgusting."
"Cough, cough!" Lawrence once again couldn't help but to throw up a mouthful of blood.
Blood trickled to the ground, drop by drop.
Candace's eyes narrowed. Almost instantly, she regained her calm and said, "What's the point of this? You're throwing up blood. It's not worth getting angry over you. Whether I love you or not isn't important anymore. I'm going to die soon. You still have a long life ahead of you."
Lawrence quickly walked over and he swayed as he came to the bedside. His hand suddenly
reached out and grabbed Candace's neck.
"Ugh!" Candace muttered in discomfort. She looked up at Lawrence and said, "Don't kill me. If you want to vent your anger, don't bother killing someone like me who only has less than two months to live. It's not worth implicating yourself in a murder."
Lawrence looked at her coldly, and the hair on his pale sideburns turned even whiter. His lips were covered with blood. He said, "Do you think I still care about my life?"
"Even if you don't care, you should think about Lowell." Candace smiled as she said, "He is our child. Do you want his father to kill his mother?"
"You deserve to die." Lawrence growled, gnashing his teeth. "But it's not worth it to let you die like this."
"So, let me suffer for the rest of my life. I'm suffering everyday," Candace said. "It's better to die than to live like this everyday. This is what I deserve."
Lawrence inhaled an icy breath and narrowed his eyes slightly. His hostility suddenly became more serious. He was stiff all over and looked at her coldly. He was calculating something in his eyes, as if he was confirming whether or not he should kill her at that moment.
Then, Candace's hand lightly rested on his arm and she gently caressed it.
Lawrence's body instantly tensed up. "Don't touch me!"
However, Candace didn't take it seriously. "Let me go. Lawrence, you don't have to be so angry over such a shameless woman like me."
"You're right." Lawrence sneered. "There's no need for me to do that, but I've invested everything for you. My whole life, I've never been tricked like this. It's you. You've gone too far."
"Lawrence, you shouldn't have come," Candace whispered. "If you hadn't come, you could have spent the most wonderful time in your own world. Since you came, all your fantasies have been shattered. I can't give you anything more. Your last fantasy is gone, and everything is broken. Lawrence, I really don't love you."
She stared at Lawrence, with her eyes full of smiles. She just quietly looked at the man in front of her.
"Lawrence, take care. If you meet another woman, maybe you can replace love."
Then, Lawrence chuckled. Suddenly, he reached into his pocket with his other hand and pulled out a knife. The blade radiated cold light in all directions.
In the next instant, Candace's pupils shrank as she said, "Wait!"
Lawrence sneered and said, "Even if it's not worth it, I'll take your life. I want you to die by my hands."
