Candace wasn't too surprised. Perhaps it was because she understood Lawrence very well. Hence, she did not struggle and just said, "Please give me a few minutes."

Lawrence narrowed his eyes and kept staring at Candace. His eyes were full of anger. "You want a few minutes? Fine, I'll give it to you. For the sake of Lowell, I will spare you a few minutes. Don't play tricks or

me."

Candace scoffed helplessly and said, "Lawrence, you ought to think about this clearly. You would be sent to prison if you killed me. At that time, maybe you'll pay with your life. Have you actually considered the outcome?"

Lawrence held the knife in his hand and smiled contemptuously. His eyes were gloomy. Even so, he could not go down this path. Candace had hurt him badly this time. He would rather be dead than alive. He was basically a walking corpse, as there was no difference between life and death.

Therefore, even if he had to pay with his life, he would accept it!

"I've thought it through," Lawrence said in a deep

voice.

Candace pursed her lips and smiled gently. She looked at Lawrence and said, "Lawrence, I feel that it was very unlucky for you to have met me. How is it possible for me to allow you to go on with such bad fortune?"

Hence, Lawrence was stunned. Then he said, "I am really unlucky."

The unluckiest thing that ever happened to him in his life was being trapped by this woman. It was not until he had grown older that he saw her true colours.

No!

Perhaps, it was because he had not been able to see what this woman's thoughts were.

How could a person be so good at acting that no one could figure out her thoughts?

Irritation pricked at Lawrence at the thought of being trapped by Candace and that she had never loved him. He was ashamed and angry.

"Candace, you just said that you treated me like replacement parts. Does it mean that whenever we had it in the bedroom, you just pretended that I was Timothy?"

This was what men cared about the most.

However, Candace did not answer him, instead, she just stared into Lawrence's eyes. Her eyes were glued to his face.

"Tell me." Lawrence seethed when she did not said anything. Hethen bellowed, "Tell me the truth."

"Can't you feel it in your heart?" Candace asked, "Back then, can you not feel how I felt about you? Not even one bit?"

"Tell me. Am I not as good as Timothy?"

"When you and I got together, you were already in your forties. Do you think you're comparable to a twenty-something-year-old man? Are you deceiving yourself? I'd be lying to you if I'd say that you were comparable to Timothy, right?" Candace deliberately said in detail, "He has a pair of very strong arms and is able to carry me. What about you? I doubt you can even carry me for a minute." Lawrence took a deep breath, as he was a little dumbfounded.

At the same time, Candace also took a deep breath. She smiled gently, reached out, and touched the top of her head before she continued. "Lawrence, stop asking these meaningless questions." After finishing her words, Candace smiled slightly. She ran her hand from her hair to her neck. She looked at Lawrence and smiled very brightly.

"Lawrence, even if I don't love you, I can't die by your hands. How can I let you go to prison for me? I'll end it by myself." As soon as she finished speaking, she slashed her own neck.

Lawrence could not see it clearly. He only saw Candace smiling as she looked at him. Her hand fell to her side and he could see a trail of blood on her neck. In an instant, blood started spurting from her neck profusely.

Then, Lawrence exclaimed, "Candace? Candace?"

On the other hand, Candace looked at him with a smile. The blood kept gushing out out of her neck. Lawrence, who was standing a couple metres away from her, was covered in blood. Gradually, blood started flowing out of Candace's mouth.

"I will not allow you to go to jail for me. I'll end my own life." She muttered with all the strength that she had left.

Then, Lawrence wailed, "Candace!"

However, Candace only smiled back at him, not saying a single word.

Blood kept pouring out of her wound.

Meanwhile, Timothy could hear Lawrence's pained cries outside and quickly kicked the door down.

At that moment, there was blood everywhere.

As he stood by the door, Lester saw the entire scene and immediately shouted, "Call a doctor.

Someone, please get the doctor!"

In the meantime, Heinz and Grace also heard it. They stood up quickly. When Heinz strode to the door, he was met with this scene. Candace's body had run out of blood, and it could no longer drain out of her neck anymore. So, it gurgled quietly from her jugular.

Drip, drip, drip. The blood flowed down the edge of the bed and to the ground. One could hear the sound of blood dripping onto the ground.

The sound of blood dripping rang in everyone's ears. It made everyone nervous as if their hearts were about to jump out of their throats.

Timothy quickly rushed over to the bed and saw Lawrence holding a knife in his hand. Candace still had a slight smile plastered across her face as she stared at Lawrence. She had lost all of her strength. "Candace!" Timothy wailed.

Candace simply glanced at Timothy. She opened her mouth but could not say anything.

"Candace!" Timothy roared as loud as he could. He shouted with all of his might. He only hoped that Candace could answer, "Was it him? Was he the one who wanted to kill you?"

Candace shook her head, still smiling and staring at Lawrence. She did not look away from

Lawrence's terrified face at all.

Her head tilted to one side as she gazed at him and took her last breath.

"Candace!" Timothy shouted.

After that, Heinz happened to run to the door, and he was stunned when he saw the amount of blood on the ground.

Grace was right behind him. She was also shocked as her limbs went cold. Then, she looked at the blood dripping down along the sheets in disbelief. There was blood all over the bed, which was terrifying. "No!" She shook her head, but in an instant, her body fell back.

"Grace!" Heinz's eyes were sharp and his hands were nimble. He quickly reached out for her as she fell into his arms.

At that point, Grace's legs gave way. She looked at Heinz as she held his hand and said, "Heinz, please save my mother."

"She's dead." Timothy said, sounding extremely devastated. "There's no way to save her."

Grace froze and stared at Timothy in a daze. Meanwhile, Timothy's expression was filled with pain and regret, and he could not say a word.

Her eyes were full of tears, but she could not believe that it was true.

The woman on the bed was really gone.

Just moments ago, she was arguing with Candace, and Grace despised her. However, in a blink of an eye, she was gone.

She was dead.

Nevertheless, Grace was very reluctant to accept this fact.

After that, Heinz picked her up and everyone was staring at Lawrence at that moment.

Lester and Alex went forward together and grabbed the knife from Lawrence's hand.

Meanwhile, Lawrence sat down on the ground. His palms were slick with sweat and his legs had turned to jelly.

His entire body and face were covered with Candace's blood. It was a ghastly sight.
