Heinz checked the caller ID and realized that Alice was calling. He quickly answered the phone. "Alice?"

"Heinz, is my mother dead?" Alice's trembling voice sounded over the phone.

Heinz was stunned. "Who told you?"

"Jensen's mother," Alice said. "My mother-in-law."

Heinz had a feeling that it wasn't Jensen who told her, so how did Aunt Brooks know about it?

It seemed like Jensen might have told her. Then again, it was not the time to pursue that matter now.

Heinz could only tell Alice the truth. "Yes, your mother has passed away."

"Uh!" Alice took a deep breath. After a slight pause, she calmed down. However, she still sounded a little emotional. "Heinz, does my sister know about this?"

"Yes, she knows," Heinz said. "Alice, don't worry. I understand your feelings. Your sister is afraid that you will be sad, and that is why she didn't dare to tell you. There is no way to bring someone back from the dead. I'm sorry for your loss." "Heinz, my mother died miserably, didn't she? Was she murdered?" Alice asked again.

"No." Heinz said, "She committed suicide. You can ask Jensen. Jensen already has the results. I have no idea how or where Aunt Brooks heard this. Don't listen to the rumors. If you want to know more about it, you should ask Jensen."

"Alright!"

After Alice hung up the phone, Heinz hurriedly called Jensen. As soon as the call was connected, Heinz immediately asked, "Jensen, what's wrong with you? Aunt Brooks found out about Candace's death and told Alice about it. Now Alice knows about it. She even asked me if Candace was murdered."

Jensen's heart thumped in his chest. He was shocked. "My mother must have overheard the conversation I had with my dad. Oh, cr*p! I told him to take care of Alice's feelings."

"You should not have told him," Heinz said. "At least, you should have personally told Alice. She shouldn't hear it from someone else."

"I did not expect her to replace out this way. I'll call her right away." Jensen also realized the seriousness of the problem. "Don't worry."

"Alright."

Heinz hung up the phone and turned to look at his father. He was quite emotional right now. He held the letter given by Candace in his hands while tears streamed down his face. He was incredibly upset. Heinz sighed and said, "Now that you know the truth, don't give up on yourself. She wants you to live well. She hopes you will spend your remaining years in peace and comfort. You don't have to be depressed."

"I shouldn't have," Lawrence muttered. His voice was restored, but he felt extremely regretful. "I shouldn't have treated her like this."

Heinz smiled bitterly and did not say anything.

He should not have done this. He should not have done that. Whatever was done, was done.

There was no way to turn back time.

He turned to look out of the window, his eyes full of regret and unwillingness. He felt a little unfair for his mother who had died of depression. She was married to a bad husband.

It was a lifetime of regret.

"President Jones, where are we heading?" Alex was driving. He had no idea where he was suppose to drive Lawrence. Should he send Lawrence home?

"I want to get down from the car." Lawrence said, "I think I should head back to the hotel. Why don't you stop me by the side of the road?"

Heinz thought for a moment and finally said to Alex, "Why don't you drop him off at the hotel?"

"Alright!"

The car soon arrived at the entrance of the hotel. Heinz was the first to get out of the car as soon as it stopped.

Lawrence got out of the car as well. The father and son stood outside the hotel, face to face. Lawrence looked at Heinz with tears in his eyes and said, "I..."

He opened his mouth, but the words were stuck in his throat. He did not know what to say.

After all, he had made a lot of mistakes in the past. Lawrence felt guilty when he came face to face with his son. When the words were about to come out of his mouth, he just did not know what to say. His emotions were a little complicated at that time.

"Why don't you head back to your room and take a rest? We'll talk about it next time," Heinz said flatly.

Heinz did not want to say anything else. He turned around and was about to enter the car.

"Heinz!" Lawrence stopped him.

Heinz's body stiffened and he stood in front of the car. He was a little surprised. Then, he turned around and looked at Lawrence. He asked calmly, "Anything else?"

Lawrence hesitated for a moment and continued, "I'm sorry."

"You don't have to apologize to me. The one person you should be apologizing to is my mother and of course, Candace. Anyway, my mother died because of depression which was caused by you. Candace committed suicide because of you. Regardless, these two women had deep feelings for you. You have failed my mother and Candace. My only hope now is that you will not let yourself down in the future." Heinz had regained his composure. He tried his best to be gentle.

Lawrence looked at his son's expression and knew that he was suffering inside. He nodded and said, "Okay, we'll get in touch later."

He turned around and walked into the hotel. His tall body was a little hunched.

Heinz watched as his father entered the hotel. His expression was a little sluggish.

Alex also got out of the car. He could see that Heinz was a little worried. He immediately said, "President Jones, if you're worried about him, why

don't you take him to the villa on the mountain?"

Heinz shook his head.

Alex did not quite understand what was going through President Jones' head. He clearly seemed worried, so why did he let his father walk away?

He did not dare to ask, so he turned to Heinz and said, "President Jones, why don't you head back home and take a rest?"

Heinz was only willing to turn around and enter the car when his father's figure disappeared into the hotel.

Alex said, "President Jones, are we heading home now?"

Heinz was very depressed and said, "I want to head over to the cemetery. I want to pay my mother a visit."

Alex was stunned and quickly said, "Alright then."

Alex immediately drove to the cemetery.

Heinz's mood at that time was really complicated.

He did not know how to express his emotions. He felt desolation in the depths of his heart. He seemed to be able to feel his mother's desperation before she died.

It was a pity that he was too young at that time. Therefore, he could not understand the feeling of anything sadder than a withered heart.

Now, he understood how his mother felt, but she was no longer there.

When they arrived at the cemetery, Heinz asked Alex to wait for him by the car. Then, he made his way to his mother's grave.

Alex was very worried about him, but he did not dare to disturb Heinz.

About half an hour later, Alex received a phone call from Grace.

"Alex, are you with Heinz?"

"Yes, Madam Smith." Alex said, "I am with President Jones."

"Why isn't he answering his phone?" Grace asked immediately, "I've tried to call him several times, but he did not answer."

Alex's heart tightened. He instantly understood what was going on.

He said, "We are at the cemetery and President Jones is visiting his mother's grave. He doesn't want to answer the phone at the moment."

"You're at the cemetery?" Grace was very surprised. "What are you guys doing at the cemetery?"

"Here is the thing, Madam Smith," Alex thought for a moment and eventually decided to tell Grace. "President Jones received a letter from Madam Lowe. The letter was written to him and the Old Master. After the Old Master finished reading his part, his voice was fully restored and he began crying profusely. However, after President Jones finished reading his part, he became silent. After seeing his father's reaction, he decided to come to the cemetery. He has been in there for half an hour."
