True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)
Chapter 960 Public Threat

On the other side of the phone came the angry voice of a woman. It brought along a hint of accusation as she seethed, "You have a death wish, don't you?"

Grace was taken aback. Her brows furrowed even more as she asked, "Who are you?"

"It doesn't matter." The woman scolded, "I tried to be lenient with you, but you are shameless. It seems like I made the wrong decision to release your sister. You'd better think it through because the next time you cross me, I'll make you suffer."

"Who the hell are you?" Grace asked in a low voice, "Are you Marry's mother, Miranda?"

Miranda's surprised silence confirmed Grace's suspicion, but at the same time, she was furious. She continued, "You are a b*tch who broke her promise. You'd better release Xavier or I will seize a better opportunity to take revenge on you."

On the side, Alice overheard her words.

Alice was stunned before she quickly shouted at the phone, "Who do you think you are? How dare you threaten Grace? Listen carefully, Xavier will not be released. We will definitely pursue this till the end and by then, you can't escape from the crime either. You'd better get this in your head. What you are doing now is against the law. If you dare threaten us, you have to pay the price."

Miranda sneered and retorted, "You must be Alice, right? You and Grace are the same. You two little b*tches love acting all high and mighty and you bullied Marry. Ha! You even have the guts to threaten me. Honestly, I'd like to see what the two of you are capable of."

"So, you are Miranda," Grace spoke again.

"Yes, I am." Miranda cursed angrily, "My daughter was remanded in the detention center because of you. Just you wait and see. We will slowly settle the score."

Grace replied sternly, "Miranda, since you know that Marry has been detained, you should also know the reason why. Not only did you not correct her mistakes, but you even encouraged her to commit crimes.' "You're not any better. Did you keep your promise?" Miranda coldly refuted, "Did you forget what you promised Xavier?"

For a moment, Grace was speechless.

"You promised us that you won't pursue this matter any further. We kept our end of the promise and released your sister. But as soon as we handed her back to you, Xavier was arrested. You did not keep your word. Where is your sincerity?"

"I did promise you, and I thought I could promise that on their behalf," Grace said helplessly. "In fact, I should not have made that promise. I'm sorry."

"Cut the cr*p." Miranda did not believe her. "Who are you trying to fool? You conned us, and now that your sister is safe, you took the opportunity to retaliate against us. There isn't a person on this planet who doesn't know how petty you are."

"Grace is not that kind of person," Alice defended Grace.

Grace grabbed hold of Alice to stop her.

However, Alice couldn't care less anymore. She yelled at the phone, "You deserve to be arrested for your misdeeds. You kidnapped me and even threatened my sister. This is a crime."

"Crime my a*s." Miranda continued scolding, "You, your sister, and your mother are all b*tches. All of you are the same, as the only thing you know is how to rely on men. If it weren't for Heinz and Jensen, I would have sent you two to hell. How dare you bicker at me?"

Hearing this, Alice's expression suddenly changed.

Grace took the phone and said in a low voice, "I know I went back on my word. I don't deny it, but if you want to seek revenge, bring it on. I believe that you will see that we will inflict twice as much damage to you. We are not afraid of you. Let's wait and see."

After that, she hung up the phone.

Then, Alice nervously said, "Grace, she threatened us..."

"Since Xavier has been arrested, it's normal for her to be angry and vent her frustrations. You don't have to pay much heed to it. This is the consequence that I should bear. I was feeling a little guilty at first, but now I'm furious. Just let it be. There will always be a solution to every problem. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it."

When Alice saw that Grace's face was slightly pallid, she knew in her heart that her sister was actually misunderstood by both parties.

However, she had no choice but to head back to her room. As soon as she got back, she immediately gave Jensen a call.

"Jensen, Miranda called Grace and scolded her harshly." Alice's tone was very aggrieved. "I don't know if our persistence is right."

"Miranda called Grace?" Meanwhile, Jensen had just arrived at the police station. Just when he was about to meet Xavier, he received a phone call from Alice.

"Yes, Jensen, you must detain Xavier in order to control Miranda. You have to be ruthless to these kinds of people."

"I know. You should get some rest. Take care of Grace too."

"Okay. Heinz also went out. Do you think I should tell him?"

Jensen was stunned. "Heinz went out?"

"Yes, he said that he needed to deal with some affairs."

"I'll call him," Jensen said.

"Alright."

Soon, Jensen hung up the phone.

He then dialed Heinz's number.

However, Heinz did not answer his phone.

Left with no choice, Jensen went to interrogate Xavier first.

As soon as he entered the interrogation room, his subordinate immediately stood up and reported, "Boss, this is Xavier Scott. He was the one who kidnapped Alice."

Standing by the door, Jensen cast a withering look at Xavier who was cuffed in his seat.

Xavier was a tall man who had on a pair of glasses. He looked gentle, but behind the glasses, there was a pair of sharp, calculating eyes.

Then, Jensen walked over and stood in front of him.

Xavier raised his gaze and looked at Jensen with a sarcastic smile.

"I knew it. I shouldn't have been so generous. The playing field is totally different when you have bargaining chips."

Jensen narrowed his eyes, and his gaze was fixed on Xavier's face. He responded coldly, "If you have the guts to kidnap someone, you should have the balls to bear the consequences."

"Kidnapping is not a capital offense." Xavier returned Jensen's stare without any hesitation. He said slowly, "You ought to be clear about that, Jensen."

Of course, the rest of the sentence went without saying.

Meanwhile, Jensen understood his words. It was a very straightforward threat.

Xavier was threatening him.

Since kidnapping was not a capital offence, Xavier would retaliate once he was released.

This was what he meant, and he didn't have to say it for it to be heard.

Jensen smiled and uttered in a deep timbre, "Xavier, I am a policeman. I'm not afraid of you."

He had dealt with many criminal cases in the past. If he was afraid, he would not have been able to solve any of them.

"I see." Xavier sneered. "If you are not afraid of threats, does it mean you do not love your wife? From what I see, you don't seem to love and care about her. If she knows that, do you think she will divorce you?"
