Meeting an old friend was always inevitable.

Heinz accompanied William as he watched Diego and William talking to each other. Diego's expression showed that he was a very cultured person, and he had always respected William.

A veteran who didn't forget his roots was expected to be pretty well-mannered.

"Diego, you've become an old man." William joked with Diego. Frankly, he still saw Diego as his own child.

Diego held William's hand tightly and said with a smile, "That's right, boss. I'm an old man now, but you are still as handsome as always. I met you three years ago, and three years later, you haven't changed a bit."

"Alas, I'm getting old." William was so happy that the fine lines in the corners of his eyes were visible. "As someone who has one foot in the grave, I don't dare expect too much right now. I just want to live a good life. As long as I don't do anything against my conscience, that's more than enough for me." "Boss." Diego looked at him with a change in his expression. "You are still the same, and your method of doing things hasn't changed. I admire you. All these years, I've been living my life in accordance with your teachings."

"Good job, Diego." William held Diego's hand tightly. From the look on William's face, it seemed as if he was looking at his child.

"Let's head to the private room and sit down to reminisce about the old days." Diego looked at the back door and said, "Let's not stand here."

"Sure." William nodded.

Diego suddenly cried out in surprise, "Silly me, I ignored the young man beside you. If I'm not mistaken, this should be Heinz."

Heinz responded politely, "Hello, Mr. Quell. I'm Heinz."

"You can call me Uncle Diego. We're family, so there's no need to stand on ceremony," Diego said with a smile.

Heinz was stunned by his words.

Why would he address Diego as such?

Hearing this, William also sighed. "Heinz, call him Uncle. I wanted to set your mother up with him, but it failed and she insisted on taking a fancy to your father! Look how she ended up!" William couldn't go on, but he still sighed when he

thought of it.

Diego was slightly startled as well, and there was a touch of regret in his eyes.

When he looked back at the past, there were too many regrets to count. Alas, feelings couldn't be forced.

William also sighed and added, "Oh, I've gotten old. How can I think of these things? It's all in the past now, and it was God's plan, anyway. Your mother wasn't lucky enough to be with your amazing Uncle Diego."

Diego smiled bitterly. "So many years have passed, and she is already gone. Alright, let's not talk about it. Heinz, just call me Uncle Diego will do. I also heard that you were acquainted with Hugo when you were in school."

"Yes." Heinz nodded and addressed him as his uncle. "Uncle Diego, I didn't expect you to know that I knew Hugo."

Diego laughed and explained, "Before I came to Northern City, Hugo mentioned it to me. I never expected that we would meet here."

"It's fate, then." Heinz smiled. "Uncle Diego, this way, please."

"Let's go."

They promptly entered the room together. When they arrived at the private room, there were only the three of them left. After taking their seats, Diego reminisced with William about the past. "Boss, Heinz, is there something wrong?" Diego was an experienced man and he realized that this gathering had another purpose.

Heinz admired Diego because he could tell that they were there for a reason.

"Heinz, tell me what's wrong," Diego said. "As long as it doesn't violate the law, I will never refuse to help you." Seeing Diego being so frank, Heinz also wanted to speak straightforwardly. However, he was interrupted by William. "Diego, this is just a gathering." William said, "It isn't too big of a problem, really. It depends on how you look at it."

Heinz thought to himself, "Grandpa is such a cunning person. Those who don't understand his meaning will definitely be confused." Fortunately, Diego could read between the lines.

He immediately became serious and looked at William. He then turned his gaze to Heinz and said, "This seems like a serious matter." Heinz paused for a moment. He stared at Diego as he hesitated on what to say.

However, Diego spoke first, "The way you put it means that it could go either way. If we are not careful, then it'll be a big deal." Hearing this, William's lips curled up into a smile, and his sparse white moustache made him look very cunning. Diego spoke again, "Boss, are you holding out on me?"

"I heard that you've remarried." With a simple sentence, William swiftly led the conversation in the desired direction.

Diego's heart skipped a beat as he hummed in response. He looked at William in surprise and asked, "You knew about this?" "That isn't something to be ashamed of. Since I've found out, let me congratulate you," William replied with a smile. Diego was very puzzled. Why did William suddenly mention his new wife?

His intuition told him that something was up.

Then, Diego turned his gaze to Heinz.

Due to William's strategy, Heinz didn't know what to say, so he just smiled.

Diego frowned slightly and looked at William again.

"Boss, do you want to meet my wife?" "No, it's fine." William smiled and said, "It's fine as long as you're happy."

"Then, why did you suddenly mention her?"

William replied, "Well, isn't this fate?"

"Fate?" Diego was even more dumbfounded now. What was the meaning of this? There was some hidden message behind William's words.

William continued to chuckle mysteriously, which made Diego even more perplexed.

"Boss, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. Please enlighten me."

"Diego." William finally said, "We're all family here. Your new wife is Miranda Scott, am I right?"

Diego nodded, and then he became very alert all of a sudden.

"Yes, her name is Miranda, and she is also from Northern City. She has been taking care of me for more than a decade, and she's been very loyal." "Loyal?" William suddenly laughed and commented, "Diego, you don't have a good eye when it comes to women."

Diego smiled awkwardly at this.

William added, "When you fell in love with Heinz's mother, you didn't have a good eye either as my daughter was a fool."
