True Love -
(Book 3) – Chapter 124
Jean in the company of his wife and children were leaving the flat where they lived, that evening they had a dinner with old Antonie the first since the couple had married… after the visit of the tycoon, the couple had not had time to visit grandfather as the twins took up all their time. Plus now that Jean was running his own business, he hardly had time to meet with his father.
He barely had time for his wife and children… but the incessant calls from the old man forced him to take time out of his time to go and see him, so that he could meet his grandchildren and interact more with his wife.
-Come on, love, it’s too late. The blond says to her, carrying Soren in his arms.
-I’m coming, dear! says the brunette leaving with Aaron in her arms. -I’m ready.
The couple arrived downstairs, where they met Adrien and Maya getting into the car. They greeted them from inside the car and moved on. While the new parents were in charge of getting the twins into the car.
Arriving at the old Antonie’s mansion, Zoé bites her lips. The last time she had been in that house had been her wedding day. And it hadn’t been the best day of her life, as the meddlesome blonde had put bad thoughts in her head.
The girl reprimanded her head, she shouldn’t be thinking about things from the past. Now it was the present and that annoying woman would never bother her again. But that didn’t take away the fact that she felt uncomfortable being in that house to visit her father-in-law.
-What’s wrong, love?
-Nothing! She lied, not wanting to make her husband feel bad. You could tell he was excited to visit his father.
-Don’t lie to me, what’s wrong, my love?
-I feel strange, your father hated me and now he wants us to come and visit him. It’s just that I’m scared.
-We’ll be fine, I’m sure he understands that he can’t do anything else. That I love you, and nothing will separate me from you.
-Oh, love! You’re so cute.
-I love you, and you’re mine. No one will separate me from you.
-What about your inheritance?
-I don’t want an inheritance, love. He smiles, holding his baby in his arms. -I already have my fortune, and you and my babies won’t have to work.
-But your father hopes that you….
-It’s sad for him then… let Adrien take care of it.
The blond approaches his wife to place a k**s on her lips… then he smiles sweetly.
-Let’s get on with it! The old man must know his grandchildren.
She nods, takes her baby to follow her husband into the house… in the house Antonie was waiting for them, welcoming Adrien and Maya. Hugging them both, that was a surprise for the brunette. It never crossed her mind that she would be fond of her friend.
-Jean! My son! He exclaims, smiling. -Zoe, it’s good to see you again.
-Hello Mr. Dubois… smiles this one.
-Ah, my grandchildren! She says happily. I could tell. – They are so small!
-But strong. Their father speaks.
-Of course they are, they’re Dubois.
The family gathered in the dining room, while Zoé had regained a little more confidence thanks to the fact that the old Dubois had treated her so well. She no longer felt afraid, and she liked that. She felt like family.
-So, Adrien, when is the wedding?
-Father! Don’t start… Maya and I are fine as we are.
-But you must get married, have children… I want you to fill my house with grandchildren.
-There’s still plenty of time. We’re taking things slow.
-I know that! -I know that! But don’t waste too much time. I’m not so young anymore. Laughs the old man.
Adrien denies amused, while Maya squeezes his hand. The couple give each other a knowing smile.
The Dubois brothers are in the small mini bar having a drink, watching their father play with the little twins. The girls were accompanying him and he didn’t seem to mind.
-He seems to have calmed down. Adrien says.
-It seems so!
-It doesn’t bother him what the girls were before, that’s good.
-A lot! At least there won’t be any more arguments.
-She finally got it!
-Something good came out of your contract marriage.
-Definitely! Zoe, it was the best thing that ever happened to me.
He smiles and agrees with his brother, even though they had met the girls in a strip bar they were not what they seemed to be. After a while, they told him why they had started working there.
-Sometimes I feel like a bastard for the way I treated her in the beginning.
-It’s not your fault, she apologised.
-I was a heartless bastard!
-You still are.
-You’re a f*****g Adrien!
He laughs, taking the last sip of his drink, and looks at the brunette who is holding a little boy in her arms. He felt tenderness. He had lost his mind for Maya. He was hopelessly in love with her. He smiled, because even with what he had told his father that there would be no marriage yet, he had lied to him.
Really, he was thinking of proposing to Maya… he wasn’t going to let that woman slip away. She was one of a kind, the way she treated him, the way she was in bed… especially that part, the bed. Damn! She was one hell of a woman. Just thinking about it made him want to take her back to the house right now and make love to her until he had had enough.
But that could wait. And after what he was planning to ask her that night, as soon as they were both alone in the house, he’d ask her, “I’ll ask her to be my wife.
-I’ll ask her to be my wife. Tonight!
His brother smiles openly at his brother’s confession… it was not a surprise to him that this event was already coming.
