True Love
(Book 4) – Chapter 129

He saw the island in the distance and it was beautiful, when he got off the ferry he fell in love with how wonderful and picturesque it was, the houses were authentically Cycladic and with a splendid white Venetian air. It was so beautiful, anyone would want to live there for life on that peaceful island.

He dragged his suitcase along the harbour, Peter told him that there was no transport on the island because it was so small, but there were means of transport such as bicycles or just walking. According to him, his parents’ house was only a few blocks from the harbour so he could very well walk, and that was exactly what he did.

He had left her a very detailed sketch of how to get there, and what the house looked like. But the truth is that there were many mazes of streets and houses all in impeccable white. But that didn’t stop her, because in the end she had found it without any problems.

Once she was comfortable in the house, she started to walk around it, choosing the biggest room with a wonderful view of the sea, she fell in love with Greece instantly, she didn’t understand how her mother hadn’t come back. She thought about how she would enjoy every day of her holiday without anyone bothering her.

Fernando had been a complete nightmare, he called her every day, he sent her flowers, chocolates, letters, cuddly toys and all of them ended up in the rubbish bin. He tried to get her to forgive him, that’s why she was so depressed, because she still had feelings for him and wanted to go back to him, but after what he had done she couldn’t trust him again. And she prayed that this trip would help.

She inhaled deeply the scent of the beach, exquisite she thought. As it was still early he would go to walk the streets of Serifos, maybe have a coffee or a snack. She changed her clothes, choosing a nice loose lemon green dress, with a pair of Roman style sandals. She went out into the street and the breeze and the heat invaded her, the climates were very different but it didn’t matter. As there were many labyrinths she was very careful to look carefully where to go to avoid getting lost. In the end she had managed to replace a beautiful café-Te was very picturesque, the chairs and tables were outside, it was pleasant because the sun reflected very little so at that hour they could sit quietly to taste the menu. A young man approached her with a warm smile on his lips and said something to her in the Greek language.

Oh dear! That little detail had completely slipped her mind, she didn’t understand what he was saying.

-Excuse me, but I don’t understand what you’re saying.

-I’m sorry, Miss, what would you like to order?

-Thank God you know my language, well, I’d like a coffee with lots of sugar.

-All right, is there anything else you’d like?

-What else is on the menu?

-Desserts, dried pastries, cakes, ice cream, cappuccino….

-I think dry pastries would be good for me.

-Very well, miss, I’ll bring your order right away.

She relaxed her shoulders, it was a miracle that she spoke their language, she hoped that many places would do the same so she could have a good time. The café was not very crowded, but not far from her, about two tables away, sat an attractive man, he really was incredibly beautiful like those Greek gods she read about in her novels or library books. She looked at him sideways as he took a sip of coffee from an impeccably white cup, but what was she looking at him for? Did he have something in his hair? She stopped looking at him as the young man arrived with her order.

Everything looked good, she was more than eager to try the coffee and those dry vanilla and chocolate pastries, they made her mouth water. She tried the first vanilla one with a sip of coffee and sighed in wonder.

-Hmm… yummy! I’d put on a lot of pounds here if I stayed on this island. I exclaim a little loudly.

-Why don’t you stay?

A voice startled her, the strange man had heard her and was watching her every move. That made the young woman uncomfortable.

-Excuse me?

-If you don’t want to leave then stay. He told her with a rapturous smile that made her hair stand on end.

-Yes, well, thank you for your suggestion. Looking back down at his coffee cup.

Damn that smile would be something he would never forget in his life. Too sultry and saucy to be true, concentrate Andromeda you didn’t come here to have affairs. She heard him speaking Greek, and wondered what he was saying.

And by the way he was a Greek, she definitely had to forget about love affairs with foreigners who spoke in another language she didn’t understand. She hurried her coffee and pastries, she couldn’t even enjoy a quiet afternoon without a man bothering her. She asked for the bill, grateful for the little training her friend had given her before she left. She got up without looking at the stranger.

-Why are you leaving so quickly?

She didn’t answer and continued on her way, getting lost in the streets that had led her to that place. The rest of the day she spent at home, she was exhausted, it had been a long journey and after the encounter with that beautiful but strange man she didn’t feel like going out again. The next day would be much better.

-Tomorrow I’ll spend the day at the beach, I really need it.

A long shower after a hot day, even though she had worn a loose dress, the heat was overwhelming her. But the night was refreshing leaving the window open, well it was more like a huge door with white curtains hanging from the ceiling and dragging along the floor “very Greek” she thought. The gentle breeze came through the window billowing the white curtains in a sensual way.

She watched them from her bed and it was very relaxing because she could also see the sea from there, listening to the sound of the waves was wonderful. Soon her eyelids felt heavy and before she fell asleep the smile of a peculiar man came to her thoughts and with that she managed to fall asleep.

-The sun is perfect this day. she exclaimed in fascination.

She twisted a towel on the white sands of the beach, that morning she had put on a nice pink two-piece swimming costume. The beach was completely alone, it was very strange but she didn’t mind, she would have more privacy.

-Apparently we’re the only ones on this side of the beach!
