True Love
(Book 4) – Chapter 130

A voice behind her made her wince. It was him… the stranger from the cafeteria with his dashing smile, dressed only in shorts and a white shirt open in the middle, showing off his handsome, but what the hell, how many squares did he have? The lines of his h**s were lost in his low-rise trousers which were trying to hide a bulge.

-Are you following me?

-Never! He then uttered a few words in the native tongue of the place. Ending with a mischievous smile.

She looked at him with suspicion, she didn’t trust him, in fact she didn’t trust strangers and even less after her last encounter with one she was left with only bad memories and bitter tastes. He promised himself never to trust a stranger again, unless one of his friends introduced him to him. But if she looked at him the other way, he showed up on his own, so what? But she hadn’t sought him out like she had Fernando either. She closed her eyes to get a better look at him, the sun was at its peak and it was difficult for her to observe him well.

-So what are you doing here? he asked feigning anger.

-The same as you! I always come to this beach.

-There are many others on this island, sir.

-This happens to be the one I like, and it happens to be the one you have chosen. Don’t you think it’s fate?

-I don’t think so. It was the first one I chose and because I saw it alone I liked it, full stop.

-That’s why I like her. It’s not my fault that we have the same tastes.

She watched him as he spread out his blanket on the warm sand, she was stunned, with so much space and he just happened to be sitting next to her. He settled in as she stood watching his movements, took off the black sunglasses he was wearing and looked her straight in the face.

Oh for heaven’s sake! His eyes were as black as the night itself, deep and intense, his gaze was penetrating and intimidating, the kind that touches your soul. She felt embarrassed, she was half naked before his strong gaze, she crossed her arms and looked at him seriously.

-Do you know that there is enough room on the beach for you to get comfortable?

-Come on, beautiful, we’re alone, why not keep each other company and have a little chat?

Oh no! There was that smile again, just as bewitching and seductive as the one he had seen in the café. She didn’t even know his name and she was drooling over him, haven’t you had enough Andromeda?

-If you haven’t noticed sir I stayed here because I like to be alone, I don’t want your company.

-Please call me Antoni, what’s your name?

I ignored her, she kept looking at him while he was looking at her too, he was already quite comfortable with his legs crossed as if he was doing yoga. He was looking her up and down and in his eyes you could tell he was enjoying the view. Silly her, why the hell hadn’t she moved from the spot, or at least covered herself with something. She finally decided that sitting down was the best option, she couldn’t stand his scrutiny.

-My name is Andromeda.

-What a wonderful name you have, nice to meet you. Do you know her story?

-Of course I do, it’s my name, isn’t it?

-It is!

-Do you think I’m lying to you?

-Tell me a bit about the story.

-Are you joking? You live here, where history comes alive and you ask me. I snort, looking out to sea.

-That’s right! I want to know you’re not lying to me.

-Why would I do such a thing? In any case, you’re the one I should be wary of, I don’t even know who you are and from my point of view I think you’re following me.

He laughed out loud at her comment, swung one leg up and draped his arm over it to make himself more comfortable.

-What could I be lying about?

-A lot of things, I don’t know.

-Why don’t you tell me that story and I’ll tell you mine.

Andromeda bit her l*p as she looked at him with that half-smile and that deep gaze. Maybe a bit of information wouldn’t hurt, well, she was curious about him too. No, no… “What are you doing? You’re playing along” but that doesn’t matter to you, does it? Her mind had a serious problem with reason.

-It turns out that Andromeda was the daughter of Cassiopeia, who boasted about her daughter’s beauty, provoking the fury of the gods, especially Poseidon, who in the end decided to flood the land of this one and send a sea show to wipe out the men and the cattle. On the other hand, Cepheus, Andromeda’s father, learned from the oracle of Amon that the only solution to avoid such a tragedy was to give his daughter to the sea demon. Having made the decision, they tied her to some rocks near the shore.

She fixed her eyes on him again, seeing him nodding for her to continue the narrative, as if fascinated listening to her. She looked out to sea again as she recounted.

-Of course, she was saved by Perseus who with the head of Medusa turned the show of stone, rescuing the young woman whom he then asked for her hand. But it had not been so easy for him as she was betrothed and he had to fight for her hand in the end winning and betrothing her.

-You really know your history. He said, looking at her sideways.

-I told you.

-And what happens when Andromeda dies?

She laughed a little, did he think she was a storyteller or what? She sighed.

-Well, well… By the time she died, the goddess Athena gathered her among the constellations of the northern sky, close to her husband and her mother. That’s the end of it.

-Your name is definitely beautiful.

-Thank you, it’s no big deal. Tell me about yourself.

He looked at her, narrowed his eyes and bit his inner l*p as he smiled a little at a time. She couldn’t deny it, she was very curious to know more about him, he had that air of sophistication, and in a way he was, the way he dressed and even the way he expressed himself. Really charming, this Antoni.
