True Love -
(Book 4) – Chapter 139
-Then you are from America, my dear. Said the mother drinking from the golden cup.
-Yes, indeed.
-And how will they do when they get married? You will live in Greece, won’t you?
-Marry? She almost choked on the dry pasta.
-Mother, we’re not talking about it yet, we’re just dating and getting to know each other.
-Oh well! It’s just that since you told me so well about her and that you were crazy about her, I thought you had talked about it.
I looked at Antoni expectantly, I couldn’t believe that he always talked to his mother about me. He hadn’t known her that long, was he really so in love with her?
-Well, for now we are sweethearts. He said looking at the woman.
-Quiet children, we’ll wait when you’re both sure. Said the man, he seemed very wise. -We don’t want you to make a mistake, do we, miss?
-Oh yes! Let’s take it slowly. Said the young woman scared, she didn’t want to disappoint her in-laws but she didn’t want to rush things either.
-But do you want to get married? asked the insistent mother.
-Of course! The young woman’s words were very short, and she felt she was being rude.
-Well, mother, don’t overwhelm her, you’re scaring her away. She said, taking the girl’s hands, who was beginning to sweat.
And why not, if they already wanted to marry her and she hadn’t even been dating this man for a month. She was crazy, but not crazy enough to get married so soon, was she? She didn’t even know what she was thinking. In the end the lady accepted, and they changed the subject where Andromeda got to know a bit more about her boyfriend. Like how he had three more siblings, two boys and a girl who weren’t in the house at the moment, but they were hoping she could meet them. She didn’t know much about him, and listening to them talk helped her to know more. Then the conversation turned to business, while she enjoyed the desserts and the view.
The meeting with her in-laws had gone well, or so she thought, after that Antoni took her to a bedroom, which to her surprise was his. It was obvious that he wasn’t going to let her sleep anywhere else and she was grateful for that because she didn’t want to sleep far from him. She felt safe having him close by.
-Well, I’ll leave you to get changed and rest, I’ll be back for dinner in a little while.
-Where are you going?
-I have some business to attend to with my father in the office.
-Do you think the meeting with your parents went well? I had to ask, I was unsure.
-Of course it did, it went more than perfect. They adore you my love.
-I think I’m relieved. She said with a shy smile.
-You don’t have to be nervous, everything will be fine.
He took her by the h**s and pulled her closer to him, she smelled wonderful, the scent of the sea was still impregnated in her body but the scent of his perfume was driving her crazy for a long time. The k**s intensified, making his hands play with the hem of the clothes she was wearing, but she needed a shower. She’d been so nervous she’d been sweating and wasn’t sure she smelled very good. She pulled away from him and smiled at him.
-You have work to do. She said by way of excuse.
-It can wait half an hour. He said, trying to resume the k**s.
-I don’t think your father will be very happy.
-All right, you win, but tonight you’ll be mine.
-I’d be happy to. She said sealing the deal with a k**s.
She watched him leave the room as she went to take a hot shower. She had been in the room for about two hours and was already getting impatient. She decided to go out to look for Antoni or her mother, so she could get to know the place. He was on his way down a corridor and at the end of it there was a huge door, half open, he imagined it was the office, he went towards it. And a voice she didn’t know stopped her before she entered. She was talking to her boyfriend. It was bad to spy but something told her to do it.
-Oh, Antoni! How wonderful that you’re back, will you stay longer this time?
-What are you doing here? I’m busy, don’t you see.
-I came to see you, my darling.
-Really? You don’t say. His voice sounded rough. He was not happy.
-Don’t treat me like that, I’m your fiancée. What do you expect if you go away for so long, leaving me alone here?
But what was he listening to? Fiancee? Then what was she? She didn’t want to listen anymore, she was so hurt and disappointed but with herself for having been a perfect idiot. Once again she had trusted and to top it all she had believed she was in love with this liar. She was like everyone else in the end, what a nightmare. She ran off without knowing where, but finally she reached the beautiful terrace. It gave her soul peace, tears were streaming down her cheeks, she couldn’t bear any more pain for her heart, just when she thought she had overcome one disappointment, another one appeared, destroying her even more.
She was doomed to suffer, she hated it. She cursed the day she agreed to travel to Greece and she cursed the day she met Antoni. She didn’t know how long she had been there looking out to sea, the breeze had dried her tears but her face felt very dry and her eyes stung. Suddenly behind her a voice she had heard before startled her.
-I imagine you are my fiancé’s lover. I turned to see the woman of my nightmares. She was not to blame for anything, she was a victim of another woman who was screwing her fiancé.
-Excuse me, miss. She tried to leave but this one stopped her.
-Antoni is mine and you are just a toy for him. She was aware of that, she thought.
-I’ll leave, don’t worry.
-If that’s the way it is, get out of here, you don’t fit in this family. I am the legal one here, but since he spends so much time on that island he has fun before marrying me.
It had a lot of logic, Catrina was a living example and she didn’t see it. I had told her he was a womaniser and now that she knew he was engaged she felt dirty and the worst person in the world. Tears were about to burst out of her eyes. She didn’t want to cry in front of that one. What he felt was helplessness, that’s what it was, because he couldn’t do anything against that woman’s accusations. But she wouldn’t let herself be humiliated either, she didn’t know that Antoni was engaged. She was innocent in all that, he had seduced her and she, like a fool, fell into his incredible trap. Because he was a wonderful lover.
-I’ll go, don’t worry, but let me go.
-Not until you hear everything I have to say to you, stupid.
She looked at her with hateful eyes, what she didn’t understand was that if Antoni was engaged to another woman, why did his parents talk about marriage or accept her in their house if he had a girlfriend. Did they pimp everything to their children? What kind of family was that? She didn’t want to be there, that woman was holding her too tight and starting to hurt her. She had her eyes on her.
-I want you to stay away from my boyfriend forever, do you understand, girl?
-I get it, now get the f**k off me.
