True Love -
(Book 4) – Chapter 163
-Good… very good. She says, taking two steps back.
Lester walks away from her… Cassiopeia flattens her lips and turns around to go home. She had to be more rational. She couldn’t do what Valery had done, her father spent years upset because she married a man who was too old. And she was repeating his footsteps, she liked Lester. What was wrong with the women in that family?
Three months later…
Cassiopeia arrived at her sister’s house, who had already given birth to a beautiful baby girl named Estrella. The black-haired girl decided to accompany her sister for a few weeks so she could help her with the baby. On the other hand, she would take a break from the company, although she had not seen Lester during those months. He didn’t come anywhere near those parts.
-I’m glad you’re here!
-And I’m very happy to meet my niece. She’s beautiful, sister! She says, looking at the infant in the cradle.
-Why did you want to come? What happened?
-Nothing. I just needed a break.
-I’m sure daddy made you angry.
-It’s not that.
-Oh! I see… so it’s about a boy, huh? -Her sister looks at her with some curiosity.
The younger one just ignores her, as she continues to watch little Star sleep peacefully. She didn’t know what to answer to that, even she wasn’t sure of that information.
-Come on, tell me who it is.
-It’s no one, it’s a guy who wanted to cross the line, that’s all.
-Who is it? She asks again.
-Lester. The young woman looks at her sister biting her lips.
-Sister! She smiles. -For God’s sake… him?
-Don’t say anything, besides, I’ve cut off his intentions. You know dad would never allow it.
-So what happened between you two? -What did you do?
-We just kissed, twice and then that was it. That’s all.
-You shouldn’t let my dad’s imposingness ruin your happiness, if it were up to him we’d never get married.
The black-haired girl analysed the words said by her sister… on the one hand she was right, if she looked at her she was more than happy. Peter was much older than her, even older than Lester. Why couldn’t she take a chance on an older man as well?
He possessed experience, intelligence… he was important, determined and above all mature. He wasn’t a bad match, so she sighed. No, there was no point in thinking about it anymore, because if he hadn’t looked for her in three months it meant he wasn’t that interested.
After two long, quiet, laugh-out-loud weeks with her sister Cassiopeia, she had to go back to Greece.
-Think about what I told you, sister.
These were the last words his sister said to him, they echoed over and over again in his head. What should he do?
Arriving home, she left her suitcase at the entrance, shouting at the top of her lungs about her arrival…
-I’m back!
The young woman walked to the living room where the voices were coming from, then Cassiopeia stopped just before passing the frame of the living room. The girl looks at her father with a frown and her mother with eyes like saucers, and with these two was Lester. Lester, who had just stood up at the sight of her.
-What’s going on? She says naïve to what was really going on.
-Lester has asked me to give him permission to go out with you. Antoni stands up.
-What?
-I told him it’s not up to me, it’s up to you.
She blinks repeatedly, looking at Lester who was starting to take slow steps towards her.
-Would you like to go out with me? I’ve asked permission to do so, it’s what you wanted. I did not wish to earn your father’s contempt either. I want to make things right, and because of my age – he shrugs his shoulders. -That’s the least of it. Do you accept me?
The black-haired girl opened her mouth, was she surprised? No, of course not… she was shocked that Lester would do something like that. To come to confront his father, for a date. It was brave, he could lose his stake in the company if only his father could replace a reason. And she didn’t care.
She looks at her parents who had stood up, watching what was going on between the two of them. She knew from the look on her dad’s face that he wasn’t very happy, but if he gave her the choice it meant he wasn’t going to stick to his decision.
-I… well, I’d like to go out with you. He said at last.
-Yes. He answers smiling at her and then he walks over to her and takes her by the waist until he lifts her up.
-Uh! Uh! The couple heard a grunt from behind them. -Since you’re going on an official date, I just hope you’ll behave yourselves. And Lester, I hope you understand that my daughter will be the next president of the company. I don’t want you to derail her from that goal.
-Don’t worry Antoni, she will be a good boss. He smiles. -And if you don’t mind, I’d love to take her out to dinner tonight. He says, looking only at her.
-I guess I don’t have a choice.
Antoni flattened his lips in denial when he saw his daughter leaving in the company of a man who wasn’t him.
-When did they grow up so much?
-They’re not little girls anymore, love.
-And I still have one more headache left… who knows who Aphrodite will date?
-It seems our daughters have a weakness for older boys.
-That doesn’t sit well with me.
-What’s wrong? -What’s wrong? When you met me I was just a kid, and I was still a virgin.
-It’s different!
-It’s the same… -We’ll have to accept the girls’ partners. At least they don’t pick bad men, Lester is a responsible guy.
-I know that!
His wife comes up to him to embrace him… then she seeks his lips to k**s him with love and sweetness.
-What are you up to?
-So much romance in this house, it’s made me a bit hot. You should fix that problem.
-Oh! -I see.
Antoni holds his wife by the buttocks until he lifts her to the point where she can wrap her legs around his waist. They both smiled, and then kissed again as the Greek walked with his wife in his arms. Years might pass, but the two of them would continue to prophesy to each other and show their love to the four winds. They didn’t go through so many years for nothing…
