True Love
Chapter 37

He turned away and let his boys do their job properly… Behind him he could only hear the desperate screams and the creaking of bones breaking.

As Daren gave the order, Steven tried to get up and run. But not so fast as the wolves attacked him at the same time. They bit into his flesh as if it were a piece of turkey, the pain was enormous. No one would help him. More and more wolves came, tearing chunk after chunk out of his body. Soon he felt nothing, everything went dark.

(…)

After thinking it over, he ran the sharp glass across his wrist. B***d gushed from the cut he had made, it was deep. He threw the glass away and fell to the ground in a fetal position. A large pool of b***d had already formed beneath her. She closed her eyes to let go. Everything began to go black and she fell into a deep sleep.

-What are you doing, beautiful? That voice asked.

-Eve? I ask to nothing.

-Who else? I could hear her laughing.

-Where are you? -Ask, I couldn’t see anything.

-In a place where you shouldn’t be yet. -Why did you do that?

-I don’t want to be in that world anymore. I hate it.

-It’s not your time yet, sister.

-It wasn’t yours either.

-Yes, it was my time. -Yes, it was my time. You must come back Shery.

-I don’t want to. -I want to be with you, please.

-You have much to do with the living. -Ethan is waiting for you. He loves you.

-Ethan?

-That’s right, you must come back for him. -You must come back for him. I assure you he’ll make you very happy, little sister.

-But I… I’m a prisoner. Daren took everything from me. He…

-Shhh… -Shut up, you’ll get out of it. Ethan will come for you. Hang on sister, live. Now go, remember I love you and I’ll wait for you when it’s time. I will always be with you.

Daren entered the room to replace Shery lying on the floor in a pool of b***d. The bitch had slit her wrists.

-Damn it, Shery!

He took her in his arms and carried her to the bed, covered her wound with a towel and shouted the name of his right hand man who immediately came up and instructed him to get a doctor quickly. He nodded and left.

-I won’t let you die, stupid. You’re mine!

Fortunately the doctor arrived in time and was able to save Shery’s life. She was now weak and scraping. While Daren was ranting curses inside himself for Shery’s idiocy. He had warned her and the stupid girl hadn’t listened to him. He was almost dying, if she hadn’t gotten there in time the idiot would be dead.

Sitting on the couch in front of the bed where Shery lay sleeping, he looked at her, he didn’t know what kind of obsession he had with her. But he wasn’t going to let her leave his side, let alone die. She would be with him forever, or until he felt like it. After he got bored with her, he would kill her. Because she wouldn’t belong to anyone else.

He looked at her bandage, and it only caused him to strike her for her recklessness. Now he could not touch her and retaliate. He got up in a rage and stormed out of the room. Leaving specific orders for his men to watch her around the clock. He would not make that mistake again.

-Your son has disobeyed all your orders, he must be punished Marcus.

-Remember he will be the next alpha of the Blue Moon pack.

-We know that very well, but as the next leader he cannot break the rules of his alpha.

-He doesn’t deserve to be punished for that, he follows his instincts.

-He’s just a kid, we can’t let them guide us.

-I’ll take care of him.

He said to end the meeting with the council of elders. On the one hand they were right, Ethan had disobeyed many rules and deserved punishment. But on the other hand, he was influenced by his wolfish instincts, he was only trying to protect his mate.

-That human is in the hands of that alpha wolf. Taking her from him would be like declaring war.

-She is my son’s mate.

-That wolf has already claimed her as his own, perhaps she’s already marked. Nothing can be done.

-He hasn’t marked her yet. He can’t do that, he’d kill her. And I suspect that’s not what he wants.

-We will not risk the herd and all our people for that human Marcus, come to your senses.

-I understand your concerns, we will try not to create a war between packs. I’ll figure out a way to rescue the girl.

-I think you have lost your mind. Said the eldest of all the elders, rising from his seat. -We will not support you Marcus.

Many stood up and shook their heads, leaving only Marcus and his Seus further back in the room. He ran his hands through his hair.

-It will be a problem if we don’t have the support of the council. His Beta said behind his back.

-It will be! But what else can I do, Ethan is determined to replace her. I will not lose my son, I must support him.

-You know you can count on me and JB.

-Thank you very much, but I wouldn’t want them to get involved.

-JB is very stubborn, I’m sure he’s more than involved already.

-All right! He stood up. – Let’s replace the girl.

Ethan and JB were tracking the scent of those wolves in the woods. They had overstepped the borders of their domain. But that was as far as they had tracked those animals. They were everywhere, there were too many of them. Lately.

-There were too many of them. JB told him mentally.

-They are, where do they come from?

-Their alpha has created an army of these bugs.

-We must replace their lair.

-But we can’t go on alone, Ethan.

-Yes, you’re right.

The young men had transformed into wolves in search of a clue. Ethan was a dominant wolf to the naked eye, black and large with blue eyes. He was the only one with blue eyes. But no one asked any questions, not even JB himself, despite their years of friendship. He was intimidating to look at.

Deysi chatted with what little pack she had left, and although she could transform into a she-wolf she was still too quick to leave Blue Moon. As she could tell she was no match for that bank wolf no matter how little he dominated her and that wasn’t good. Least of all for her, who was an Alpha. Her father would be disappointed in her, but she didn’t feel ashamed since she was just starting her training.

If she could tell that her bite was more painful to that wolf than Megan’s, she could hurt it and that was an advantage in her favor. Though she was sure Ethan could hurt him a lot too. He was a strong wolf, if they joined forces maybe they could end the life of that despicable being that smelled of death.

-Ethan! He sighed.

It’s inevitable that you don’t want it,” his she-wolf said to him.

-Shut up please, you know he has a crush on that human.

-But she’s not here, and the way things are going, I don’t think she’ll be back.

-What could that wolf want with that woman? I don’t understand why it was the only one he took.

-I was scared of that man, he’s not to be trifled with. We barely made it out alive.”

-He doesn’t want me dead.

-You’re a fool, remember the story. After you give birth you’ll die.”

-Yes, well. But that will only happen if he captures me. I will fight for my life.

I looked up at the sky, it looked like a big blizzard was coming. The snow was coming down like an avalanche and the cold was monumental. At least the humans were not in the village. He made his way to the Alpha’s house, replaceing a crying Megan on the couch as her father comforted her. Now what the f**k had happened?

-What happened Alpha? The man gives her a serious look but it’s Megan who answers.

-Eve died. That was like a vase of cold water for the albino, not that she liked the girl but she didn’t wish her death.

-What happened to her? She asked sitting on the armchair in front of the sofa where Megan was slurping snot.

-We don’t know exactly, but we think she was in the middle of a fight.

-What about the sister?

-What are you worried about? That her sister will stay alive or that she’ll die too so you can have my brother?

-MEGAN! His father reprimanded him.

-Don’t you know that, father? Ethan is Deysi’s mate.

The man fixed his olive green eyes on the girl in front of him, looking for something in her expression that would tell him that his daughter was lying, but he found nothing. The albino looked away, blushing slightly, indicating to the man that his daughter was telling the truth.

-Well, that’s out of our hands, we don’t choose our partners.

-That’s right! And for your information, I don’t wish death on that girl. He gets up from his seat and leaves.

Father and daughter remain seated where they were, while the younger girl continues to weep uncontentedly for the loss of her friend, and worried for her sister’s life.
