True Love -
Chapter 43
Daren’s wolves were bringing him new news. News that he hoped would be good, since it had been so many months and he had not been able to replace her. The boys arrived and crouched at his feet as soon as they saw him.
-What do you have to tell me?
The wolves had found out that Ethan and his friend had arrived at the Blue Moon Alpha’s village, that meant he had left Shery alone. Something that gave him an advantage since after all this time he had found the girl’s hideout.
-Good job, you’ve got work to do. Go! I order them.
He stood up, transformed into a huge white wolf and ran in the direction of Shery’s hideout and her new friends. He would destroy them all.
-How could you possibly act so recklessly Ethan? Putting your sister at risk.
-Megan is fine. She’s trained hard over the past few months and she’s gotten strong.
-That’s not the problem, it’s what you’re involved in with that human. What about your responsibilities?
-I know what my responsibilities are, and I’ll fulfil them as soon as I kill that wolf.
-Ethan for heaven’s sake, are you…
-WE’RE UNDER ATTACK!
They shout from outside, the alpha and his beta ran out along with the two young men. Seeing the disaster looming outside, grey wolves came out from everywhere attacking everything in their path.
Gigantic wolves were running in the direction of the savages to avoid another massacre, but there were so many wolves everywhere that they didn’t know where to start.
-That girl brings nothing but misfortune to the village Ethan.
It was the last thing his father said to turn into a wolf and go to the aid of the most defenceless. His beta followed him with an angry look at his own son.
-Now those two are really angry!
-Why are the girls not here attacking the village?
-Shit… The girls Ethan. His friend tells him worried.
They didn’t stay to replace out what those wolves were doing there, they went south but before continuing they were attacked by so many wolves that they had no choice but to defend themselves. It was more like they were being entertained.

Megan was carrying a lot of logs, she was going into the house to get ready to light the fire. It was very cold in the cabin, and she couldn’t let Shery get sick.
-I feel like having a nice hot chocolate. Megan says, dropping the logs on the floor.
-Well, I guess I can make some.
-That would be great.
-Where’s the albino?
-Who knows! shrugs the brunette.
-It’s so strange that she always gets lost almost every night.
-I guess she’s out for a walk.
Shery was about to take out the ingredients to make a chocolate, when Deysi burst into the house, letting in the cold and some of the snowflakes on the floor.
-You shouldn’t spend so much time outside alone. Megan reproaches her.
-What’s it to you?
-You’re such a loudmouth. I’ll teach you some good lessons.
-Stop it! Don’t fight, will you? Shery scolds them. -We have to stop arguing here.
The albino and the brunette looked into each other’s eyes, despite the months they had been together in the same house, they hadn’t argued since the boys were at home. But now that they were gone, things were different. They couldn’t stand each other, and they’d only been together for a day.
-You two are so annoying, I’m going to my room!
Shery shook her head, as she didn’t understand Megan’s behaviour. Sure, she understood that Deysi was infuriating and impossible to deal with. But given the situation they were in, they didn’t have much of a choice not to be under the same roof.
After dinner, Megan retired to her room but Shery sat in front of the fireplace to get some warmth, the mountain chill chilling her bones. Since she had arrived the fridge hadn’t stopped, according to Ethan because they were stuck in the mountain.
As the heat warmed his bones and cheeks, he sculpted several howls outside that made his hair stand on end. He felt something wasn’t right since Ethan had left. He knew it was a mistake. He stood up and looked out the window, but everything was so dark.
-Get away from that window. It was Deysi’s voice.
-What’s wrong? They never spoke to each other, but this was no time to beat around the bush.
-He’s here!
-Who? I asked in fright.
-Shery! Megan was coming down the stairs very quickly, standing next to her.
-I think we’re going to have to fight him again.
Shery was shaking with fear, it couldn’t be that he had gotten to her again. All those months of happiness and overcoming were going to shit. The dreadful memories, that she lived next to Daren hit her head like a hammer. She could hear Megan saying something to her but her brain cut her short.
-SHERY, SNAP OUT OF IT! Megan shouted at him.
-What? What happened?
-Are you alright?
-I… no…
-There’s no time for this, he’s approaching too fast. Deysi tells them.
The three of them stayed inside the house, going out could be a bad idea, they would be at a disadvantage. Between Megan and her, they had no advantage against this wolf, maybe they would die trying to defend themselves.
He could smell her already, she was so close he was drooling just knowing he would have her in his bed again. After such a long time searching for her, he would finally be able to take that body that drove him crazy. Obsession, that’s what he felt for Shery.
He increased the speed with which he ran, he longed to get there as fast as possible. Some of the wolves had followed him, they would stay close by in case anyone dared to interrupt him. At the end of the road he could see a small, ruined village rising up.
He smiled mentally, that was what he wanted to see. He stopped, sniffed and her scent hit his nostrils. His muzzle drooling like a waterfall, he ran in the direction of Shery’s scent and the other two Alpha wolves that accompanied them.
-She’s here!
-Oh my! Shery was a sea of nerves and crying.
-Calm down Sher, we won’t let him take you again.
Megan and Deysi transformed into wolves, they knew Daren was outside as a huge wolf. His scent was so strong and potent that it filled the whole house with his pestilent odour.
Shery hid in the midst of the wolves, seeking protection. But she still felt they wouldn’t win. Not without Ethan. Suddenly the front door cracked into a thousand pieces letting in a huge white wolf with blue eyes, she looked just like Deysi but huge. When he saw her, he growled at her.
The she-wolves growled in unison and all at once charged at the huge animal standing in front of them, they would not give it a chance to attack them first. The first to bite was the chestnut, she latched onto his shoulder biting so hard that Daren growled. Then it was the albino, she climbed onto his back and attacked his neck.
The huge wolf was writhing around trying to get those wolves off his back, but apparently they had trained hard enough to give him a good fight. He was finally able to get the chestnut off by throwing her into a corner, then grabbed the albino by the paw and threw her away.
But, they attacked him again, but he was prepared for their attack. A few insignificant wolf cubs couldn’t fight him. He bit Deysi’s neck, throwing the animal’s body on top of the chestnut. Both snorted and shook their snouts.
Shery stood behind a huge couch watching the wolf fight. The girls had told her not to leave the house, so she planned to obey. But she was still scared, for her life and the lives of the girls. For they were both bleeding too much while Daren was almost and barely hurt.
(…)
Lucian got up from his usual chair, where he spent most of his time listening to the news his wolves always brought him. And the last one he got was the one he was always waiting for. He walked towards the exit of his cave, stretched his tired bones a little.
It was just a matter of warming up a bit to regain his strength. When he stepped outside the cold night greeted him, it had been so long since he had left the cave that it was a bit strange. But he quickly got used to the weather. Soon his body began to change, his skin was replaced by a thick white fur. His fangs sprouted between his lips and his face changed to become a wolf so large and imposing.
The wolf ran off in the company of his small wild wolves into the deep darkness of the night.
Megan and Deysi were already in a state of exhaustion, their badly wounded and bloodied bodies almost unable to withstand another attack from Daren who, although he was also injured, still gave them battle, he was stronger and endured. They were panting from exhaustion.
