Unbreakable Love His Passion for Her Transcends Death -
Passion 185
Chapter 185
Yvette stared at the familiar face under the soft light and didn't know what to say.
Xavier lowered his head to kiss her forehead, and she tightened her grip on the blanket. "I'm a little tired now, so I don't want to do it today."
He was stunned for a moment. Then, he held her tightly and said nothing.
Yvette leaned against his embrace and could hear his heartbeat. "Xav..."
"Yeah?"
"Do you remember the first time we hugged?" she suddenly asked.
When Xavier heard that, he thought about the time she had hugged him for the first time. It had been their first night after their wedding. James had just passed away back then, but Xavier had dragged her away.
Xavier didn't understand why she had suddenly asked him about that. He thought she was complaining about him. "What happened in the past will never happen again."
He seldom apologized, and this was his way of admitting his mistakes.
However, Yvette looked at him in confusion; she didn't understand what he meant by that.
The first time they had hugged each other was when she had still been studying. Back then, she had been getting bullied, and he had gotten soaked in the rain when he had come to pick her up. She wondered why he had said that it would never happen again.
Yvette muttered to herself, "I think I started liking you back then. I really liked you a lot..."
Although she said she liked him, he felt like something was off. He was sure that she loved him when they had gotten married. So, it didn't make sense to him that she had only started liking him after that
moment.
Before his confusion was cleared, Yvette added, "I thought you were great back then, and I kept thinking that I wasn't worthy of you. I never thought I would actually marry one day."
Xavier gulped slightly. He also hadn't expected to marry her.
When he had seen her for the first time, she had only been ten years old. She had been skinny back then, but she'd had the most beautiful smile on her face.
"We can start afresh now," Xavier suddenly said.
She looked deeply at him. "Can we really do that?"
While she had been abroad, she had always dreamed of him regretting his actions. He would ask her to come back to him and promise that he would treat her well. However, every time she woke up, the dream would be gone.
Before Xavier could answer her, someone rang the doorbell. The staff had brought their dinner. While they ate, they unknowingly changed the topic.
They slept together that night. After the lights were turned off, Xavier held her in his arms out of habit.

Then, he gently called out to her, "Yvvy."
Yvette had already taken off her hearing aid and couldn't hear him clearly.
After she fell asleep, she had a weird dream. In the dream, she was like a leaf floating on the water. She didn't know where she was headed. When she opened her eyes again, Xavier was gone from her side. The sun was shining brightly outside, and the white curtains fluttered slightly in the wind. Yvette changed her clothes and got up. Then, she grabbed her phone and saw Kiki's message.
Kiki had texted about Daphne's apology. Yvette even saw a message from her assistant abroad. The other party was already processing the compensation.
After she turned her phone off, she walked out and saw Xavier. He was standing tall under a giant oak tree in his black windbreaker. He was even holding something in his hand as he walked toward her. When he got close, she finally realized that he was holding two plates of a simple breakfast. They were Sangine County's specialty-meat pies. Xavier would never even glance at food like this in the past. "You're awake. I bought some breakfast." He looked at her with a gentle gaze. "Didn't you say you like the breakfast here?"
He only remembered that because he had gone through their chat while he had been searching for her in the past few years.
She used to have a lot to say at first. Then, he had noticed how she had started to share less and less in the end.
Yvette only returned to her senses after a while and nodded. "Yeah."
When they were back in their room, he suddenly stopped in his tracks and looked at her. "Did you forget something?"
She looked at him in confusion. Then, he said, "We're husband and wife now. You used to say that we had to hold hands, hug, and kiss every day."
