Unbreakable Love His Passion for Her Transcends Death -
Chapter 489
The two ladies looked young and youthful. Yvette was slightly surprised. After all, Xavier was at least ten years older than them and was most likely their uncles' age. He frowned slightly and said, "Scram."
That one simple word was enough to make their faces even redder. Just a second ago, they had been blushing because they were shy. At that moment, they were shocked, embarrassed, and angry.
Yvette was shocked as well. She had never thought his temper would be that bad. Xavier had never raised his voice after he had lost his memories, let alone told someone to scram.
As she had expected, getting rid of old habits was hard. He couldn't pretend to be gentle all the time.
Yvette hurriedly approached them to clear the awkward tension. "I've bought the snacks. Let's go now."
When Xavier heard her voice, his cold face slowly became gentle.
When the ladies saw how beautiful Yvette was, they were both stunned. When she politely smiled at them, they became more embarrassed and tugged at each other's hands.
"Let's go. I told you a man as dashing as him would have a girlfriend," one of them said softly. The two of them continued whispering as they hurriedly left.
Seeing how they were gone, Yvette passed the snacks in her hand to Xavier. "Here. It's fresh out of the oven. Do you want some?"
When she had been younger, she had loved having freshly made snacks by the side of the streets with Claude. Sometimes, they could have the snacks for free because there had been too many leftovers. They would also help the seller tend the store as well. In hindsight, Yvette thought the snacks in the past tasted better than anything else.
Xavier would always avoid heavily seasoned food from the outside. However, since she had already bought it for him, it wouldn't be wise for him to reject it. So, he accepted it and slowly took a bite.
"Let's buy something Noah can eat later," said Yvette.
"Sure."
He continued walking with her. Sometimes, there would be people looking at them. Some of them would notice that Xavier was blind, and they couldn't help gossiping in surprise.
"Oh, my! Look at that guy. He's actually blind!"
"It's such a shame for him to be blind. He's so handsome!"
Xavier's face fell greatly, and Yvette grabbed his hand right away. Since she was hearing-impaired, she knew better than anyone how it felt to be disabled.
"Just ignored them. We don't know them anyway," she said. That was what a doctor had taught her before.
"A doctor once told me that the
most important person in the world is ourselves. Then, our family comes second. Following that would be our friends and relatives. Those strangers aren't important in any way at all.

"They're just gossiping right now, and they'll forget about us later. Even if we hold a grudge, they won't know about it at all, let alone be ashamed of it."
That was the first time in months she had held his hand so tightly. Xavier slowly loosened up, and he finally understood how much criticism she had gotten in the past.
However, he had never done his duty as her husband. He hadn't protected her or comforted her. He hadn't even lent her his shoulder to cry on once.
However, Yvette didn't care about it at that moment.
He gulped slightly. "Yvvy, can you tell me that you love me once more?"
She was stunned. Xavier reached out his arm and pulled her deep into his embrace, ignoring everyone else's gaze. "Just this once."
She was in a daze as he held her while still carrying a lot of snacks in her hands.
More and more people were looking at them, and there were all kinds of weird looks. It reminded her of a certain day after they had gotten married. It had been Valentine's Day, and there had been countless
people on the street.
She had held a huge bouquet back then and stood in the crowd. When Xavier had gotten off of work, she had gathered her courage and said, "Xav, I love you."
