Hera sighed and ordered takeout for them again. After Nicholas finished eating, he went back to catch up on sleep.

Wayne rested for a while before Hera gave him another acupuncture treatment. Wayne felt much better after. "Thank you, Hera."

"You're welcome." Hera disinfected the used needles. "What happened between you and Everly last night?"

Wayne was a bit surprised that Hera knew he had met Everly. But after thinking about it, he realized that with Hera's and Bernard's capabilities, they had probably figured out most of what had happened by now.

Wayne recalled the way Everly had pushed him the previous night and believed that she hadn't meant any harm. They lost their parents when they were young, and Wayne had raised Everly. He knew her well.

She wouldn't even kill a bug, let alone hurt someone. She was probably consumed by a moment of rage.

Hera was busy, and Wayne didn't want to trouble her with the issues between him and his sister. Hera had been more than kind to them. He felt that it was his responsibility to sort Everly out.

Wayne explained, "I fell by myself. She probably doesn't know."

Otherwise, why wouldn't she have visited him?

Hera was skeptical. "Are you sure?"

Wayne was worried that Hera might look for Everly and added, "It has nothing to do with Everly. I just never expected her to be with Marcus. I'm sorry. It's my fault for not teaching her well. I'll go replace her after I'm discharged and bring her back to apologize to you."

He prepared to get out of bed.

Hera stopped him. "No need. I won't hold her back if she has found better opportunities. I just hope she doesn't hurt anyone."

She had already given Everly a choice, and now, she knew the answer. All she could do now was wait and see what Everly wanted to do with the Chime family.

Wayne was touched. Hera had been so good to Everly, yet Everly was foolish enough to get involved with the Chime family. He was determined to bring her back and apologize to Hera.

Hera initially wanted Wayne to stay in the hospital for a few more days, but Wayne insisted on leaving. "I'm fine now. This place is expensive to stay at. I can just rest at home."

Since he was insistent, Hera didn't press further. They returned home together after completing the discharge procedures at noon.

Hera had more important matters to

attend to and didn't pay much

attention to Everly. Over the next week, she attended meetings at Killian Corporation, where she accepted Rhett's new chip development project. She and Tyler needed to come up with a development plan within three months.

While working on the plan, Hera also found time to collaborate with Johnson to research ways to wake up Harvey.

Bernard felt bad about how hard she was working and hugged her. "Is there anything I can help you with?"

Hera pushed him away. "Stop bothering me."

Bernard sighed to himself. What could he do when his girlfriend was a workaholic?

While Hera was swamped with work, news about Everly broke out "Shocking! Camille is not the Chime family's daughter. She's the real daughter!"

An article tookTwitter by storm.

There was also a video taken by paparazzi underneath it. The video showed Everly holding Jessica's arm as they exited the hospital's DNA testing department. They looked similar in the video.

At the end of the video, a reporter asked a nurse, "What kind of test did they take?"

The nurse replied, "A paternity test."

As soon as the news broke, it quickly went viral, especially because it involved Camille, who had recently been criticized by the public.
