After a fervent night, Hera finally went to sleep at around 3:00 am. She didn't get much sleep, though, because her alarm rang at 7:00 am. She was irritable, having woken up this early in the morning. But then, she remembered that Wayne was still hospitalized.

With much difficulty, she crawled out of bed, only to replace that Bernard had left for his morning jog.

She clucked her tongue in disdain. How could he still be so energetic after making love just a couple of hours ago?

When Bernard returned, he brought her breakfast. Seeing Hera busying herself in the kitchen, he approached her and asked, "Why are you up already? What are you making? I brought you some waffles and grilled chicken wraps."

"I'm making oatmeal for Wayne," answered Hera with a yawn.

She didn't want Catherine to worry about Wayne, so she didn't have the cook prepare it.

After putting the breakfast he bought on the counter and washing his hands, Bernard asked, "We're going on a date today, yet you woke up so early just to make another man oatmeal."

Their original plan was to go on a date today, but after what happened to Wayne, their plan was postponed.

"Stop making a fuss. Wayne is hurt," Hera told him.

Bernard pouted, "But you didn't make oatmeal for me when I was sick back then."

His statement rendered her speechless. He was a green-eyed monster, indeed.

"It'll be ready soon. I'll let you have some of it first. I'll bring Wayne the rest after that. Are you happy now?"

How fortunate it was that Hera cooked a larger portion of oatmeal today.

"That will have to do," muttered Bernard. He pecked her on the lips and added, "I'll take it over from here. Go and get some sleep. I'll wake you up when the oatmeal is ready."

Hera didn't refuse. She went straight back to bed for another half an hour before waking up to have breakfast and heading off to the hospital. Wayne lay on the bed in the ward, his mind replaying the scenes at the stairway of the bar last night.

His ward was for VIPs. There was a huge couch in the ward, and Nicholas lay there trying to get some sleep. Unfortunately for him, it was noisy out there in the corridor, so he couldn't fall asleep.

Just then, the door opened. Nicholas thought it was a nurse who came. Annoyed, he said, "Can't you lower your voices?"

Hera's voice filled the ward. "Wayne, are you alright? I made you some oatmeal. You should try some."

She held a thermos bottle as she entered the ward. Wayne pushed himself up from the bed and gave her an embarrassed smile.

"You're here, Hera. Thank you so much," he said, thankful and happy to see her there.

Meanwhile, Nicholas shot up from

the couch when he heard Hera's voice. Seeing her open the thermos,

BUMS

he sprang to his feet and rushed over.

"You made this? I want some too!" He couldn't wait to try Hera's cooking.

Wayne watched as Hera walked over to him with a bowl of oatmeal.

Hastily he ranted, "Hey, are you!!

really going to fight for food with a patient?"

"I spent the whole night here!" Nicholas was exasperated. "Do you know just how tired I am?"

Wayne wasn't going to back down. "Of course, you are! You played games all night long! You were so noisy that I couldn't sleep!"

The two of them bickered until Hera could stand it no more. She quickly cut them short by telling them,¿Stop it, you two. Why don't you just eat together?" t

She brought quite a lot of oatmeal, anyway.

"No way!" Wayne and Nicholas exclaimed in unison.

But in the next instant, they each cupped a bowl of oatmeal in their hands and started digging into the food.

It was... salty beyond words!

"Why is it so salty!" Nicholas spat it out. "It's like I'm drinking seawater! This is murder!"

The oatmeal was indeed so salty that even Wayne scowled. He had tried Hera's cooking before, and this clearly wasn't her work. "Salty?" Hera frowned, confused.

It shouldn't be. Bernard, too, finished a bowl of oatmeal before she came here. He didn't say anything about the food being salty.

"It's true." Setting the bowl down on the bedside table, Wayne took a glass of water and downed it in one go.

Hera might not have believed it when Nicholas said it was salty, but when it was Wayne who spoke, she just had to believe it.

It then occurred to her that Bernard asked her to take a nap this morning and said he'd help her with the cooking.

So, this was why Bernard claimed he had something to attend to and couldn't come to visit Wayne with her.

He was so immature!
