Chapter 50

Anna apologized with a regretful expression, "Ms. Stone, I'm sorry. Mr. Gabrielson said that Mr. Moore doesn't meet with young female visitors. You should head back."

Karen looked incredulous. She had been so confident, insisting that Logan would see her, only to be proven wrong so quickly. Her

expression darkened on the spot.

"How is that possible? I've known Mr. Moore for years. We've stayed in touch all this while. We're not strangers."

A hint of sarcasm flickered in Anna's eyes, but it quickly disappeared, so it went unnoticed by Karen.

"Ms. Stone, we truly apologize. But please, you need to leave," Annal said politely and patiently.

Karen tried to suppress her irritation. "Fine. If Mr. Moore is too busy to see me, I'll go to his house and wait for him after work." Then, she changed her tone and asked quietly, "Is Mr. Moore still single? Does he have a girlfriend? Which family's daughter is she?"

The receptionists were not surprised by her inquiry. Any woman who wasn't a client but came to the company asking about Logan's personal life was usually an admirer of his.

Those truly proud daughters of noble families were unwilling to be stepmothers to his two adopted children despite any admiration they might secretly have for Logan. They would never lower themselves to openly seek information about him.

"Mr. Moore already has two children," Anna said.

Karen's eyes widened in shock and disappointment. Was he married?

That couldn't be right. She had only been abroad for six months and

had spent the rest of her time in Glendale. She hadn't heard anything. about Logan getting married.

Given his status, his wedding would have been a major event, widely covered by the media.

"Is Mr. Moore really married? Why haven't I heard about his wife? I haven't heard any news about his marriage," Karen questioned.

Another hint of sarcasm flickered in the receptionists' eyes.

Karen might be famous in the construction field, but she wasn't part of the high society circle. Logan's adoption of the late Terence's two children was known only to high society and Moore Corporation employees, as well as those very close to Logan.

For someone claiming to be an old acquaintance, it was surprising she didn't know about the adoption.

"Ms. Stone, we can't discuss Mr. Moore's private affairs. If you have such a long-standing relationship with him, why not ask him directly?",

Karen felt a sting of humiliation. After a moment, she forced a smile and said, “Thank you for your time."

She turned on her heel with her head held high. Clutching her Hermès bag, she swayed her hips as she walked out.

Anna escorted her out of the building, watching as she got into her car and drove away. After returning to her desk, she remarked to her colleague, "Is there a wealthy family with the surname Stone in

Glendale?"

"I don't think so. There's no well-known company with a CEO named Stone. Her card said she's a landscape architect."

"But she drives a Ferrari."

"So what? Renting one isn't that expensive."

"That's true."

After a brief discussion, the two receptionists returned to their work, not giving Karen's visit another thought.
