Waited For The Luna -
Chapter 10
Alice is the first elder I’ve opened up to about it. And although we had talked about mating in pack meetings and even in school, it only really covered the basics about mating and does not contain the complications I was in. My conversation with Alice went on until night time and I did learn and realized a lot of things.
1. Unlike a regular ranking wolf, being mated to an alpha is usually permanent and the pull is stronger since alpha senses are heightened by 100x compared to a regular wolf. But still possible to break.
2. An alpha can reject a mate and it’s much easier in the early days of the mating gene being activated. A second mate can be accepted but their strength won’t be as good as the first one.
3. Basically, the alpha will grow weak if he mates with another, marks another, and sleep with another. Only Luka’s is worst because he refused to reject me.
At this point, I wish I was never born a werewolf. I’d rather be a basic human with no supernatural powers. I might as well just live amongst humans once I finish med school and live as an urban werewolf. I guess that sounds like a good plan, right?
Collin visited me every day during my stay and would tour me in the pack. I didn’t want to bother Alice and her husband during my stay so it was a good thing he kept me company.
“Hey, Bellamy!” Collin said. “Penny for your thoughts.”
I was then awoken from my train of thoughts “Huh! Oh, nothing I was just spacing out.”
“Still bummed about your mate?” I shooked my head trying to deny it.
“You’re an alpha right” I asked.
“Last time I checked.” he said with his deep voice.
“How come you’re not mated yet?”
“I told you. I don’t believe in the mate bond. I’ll replace a she-wolf I like, make her luna and if I replace my mate along the way, I’d reject her.” He stated with confidence in his words. “Besides, I think it won’t be long before I mark her.” He said as he looked into my eyes.
“Oh, you found her?” I said breaking our little moment.
“Yes. And she’s absolutely perfect.” To say that we’re flirting is an understatement.
I was deeply infatuated with him. He’s also the most gorgeous wolf I’ve ever seen, with ocean-like almond eyes and a jaw that could cut like a knife, and the fact that we kissed did put a little malice.
‘Oh goddess if you mated me with him, I would’ve been the happiest girl in the world.’ Urban werewolf would probably need to go through careful considerations.
Collin made me forget about Luka for a good week. I could still feel the mate bond, and it still does affect me, but my heart was too busy laughing with Luka that I felt that I was probably healing. Maybe the goddess heard my prayers. He is a good leader even at his young age well-respected and the pack members adore him. I can never say a single bad thing about Collin, he was the complete opposite of Luka. Luka can never be half as good.
On my last night, Collin made me attend a feast at the packhouse for an elder. Alice and Felix were there too.
“Hey, Declan. I’d like you to meet Bellamy. Bell, he’s the beta and was my father’s beta. That’s his son Jared my future Beta” Declan is a middle-aged man.
“Pleased to meet you beta.” I said as I shook his hand. “So you’re the girl keeping the alpha busy these days.” He awkwardly teased, to which I offered a small smile.
“You’ve been keeping us waiting son.” Someone spoke from our backs and Collin held my hand tightly.
“Dad, Mom. I’d like you to meet Bellamy Cross. She’s visiting from White moon” His mom went all excited and gave me a big hug. “Oh dear, welcome to Black River. We are so happy to finally meet you.” Collin’s mom said. “If there is anything making you uncomfortable do tell me okay.” She added while brushing my hair. I then gave Collin an awkward stare. It was obvious what they were thinking.
“Mom, we’re not” Collin explained, and she slowly pulled back, “Oh, I’m so sorry dear. With the way you’re holding hands” she gave a judging stare at Collin’s hand on my waist. “I thought that my dear son finally found his mate.” Both of them looked disappointed.
“Sorry about my wife. She’s been planning my son’s wedding since he became alpha. Anyways, it’s not like you two would tie the knot in the future. Relationships can be exciting, I had a few when I was young, but I never took them seriously. You see, a good alpha honors the mate bond.”
Wow! his rant was long and loaded. “We’re not together. I’ll actually be home tomorrow. I only visited my aunt and alpha Collin here has been very welcoming.” I said.
“That’s pretty normal for an alpha. Nothing special.” You could the tension with a knife. Anyone can decipher the meaning of his dad’s words. I didn’t take it to heart though.
“We’ll take our leave.” Collin then snaked his hands on my shoulder and pulled me closer. After a few introductions to pack members and a few friends, Collin then took me to the beach near the packhouse.
“Your dad hates me.” I spat.
“No. He just doesn’t know you yet.” He said while tucking my hair to my ears.
“It doesn’t matter though, it’s not like I’ll be staying in the pack for long.” Collin pouted and frowned. “I wish you can stay a little longer.” He whispered as he pulled me into his chest,
Collin feels so warm, I don’t mind staying on his chest for life. But the mate bond had to ruin it and send a thud to my chest.
“I can come back someday, or maybe you can visit me at White moon.”
“Stay here Bellamy.” His words sounded so comforting. I would love that idea, but something just doesn’t feel right about it.
I lowered my gaze, trying to ignore what he said. Collin then lifted my chin up and crashed his lips into mine. It was a sweet k**s. Nothing to invading or rough.
“I don’t think I can let you leave.” He said as he leaned his forehead to mine. “Is than an alpha’s order.” I teased. He hummed in response and we both laugh.
“Want to make my last night memorable?” I suggested, then glancing at the huge body of water in front of us with the moon casting its reflection.
After that, I took off my dress and was now in a bra and shorts. It was dark anyways so what could he see. He then took off his clothes and gave me a smirk.
HE WAS HOT AS HELL!
I turned around, just so I wouldn’t look like a creep, and ran towards the water,
“This is amazing.” Collin swam towards me. “It is.”
Swimming can sometimes act like an aphrodisiac. It really does tighten the s****l tension. Before I know it Collin was roughly kissing me under the moonlight.
It truly was a night to remember.
