Waited For The Luna -
Chapter 21
It was the end of my 6th semester. I and my friends decided to celebrate a little and went to a club. This was a new interest of mine. After donning a few bottles of beer, I was now getting it dirty on the dance floor.
“Hey! I’m Bryan!” A guy who was standing at 6’2 was dancing beside me. His hair was shoulder length and a little disheveled, his face was quite handsome. A tad bit away from Luka’s. “I’m Bellamy!” I screamed in his ear. “Can I buy you a drink?” After a few minutes of dancing, we then head to the bar and ordered ourselves a couple of gin and tonic.
During the early hours of the morning, I woke up in an unfamiliar room, without my clothes on, on top of a guy I just met last night.
I quickly got up and searched for my clothes. This wasn’t my first one night stand, I already had a couple to ease the loneliness I have. But it still feels weird having s*x with strangers.
“Hello.” He said handing me my black panty.
“Thank you uh—“
“Bryan!”
“Yeah, you. Anyways have you seen my phone?” I asked in my panicked, hangover state.
“I’ll give it back to you. How about we head to the kitchen for coffee.”
“Uhm, we shouldn’t. I have to go, I have work to do.” I said. He then handed me my back and a toothbrush.
I then went on with my usual day.
Bryan was quite persistent. Over the course of months, we hanged out and dated. Before officially becoming a couple. When we were in our 3rd year in college, he asked me to move in with him. The relationship was great and the s*x was great. We lived our perfect simple life in our little mattress. We were living with each other for a year now.
Being away from the pack made me forget about being a werewolf. I haven’t even spoken to Tala for a year now. Dad and Noah would visit me when they were free, carrying news from the pack. I found out that Luka was doing okay. His father is about to step down from his position and ascend Luka. I still think of him all the time. Bryan can never fill up the sadness that was within me, but I’m still thankful for his presence. I know it’s not fair but like everyone else, Bryan was just a distraction for me not to run towards Luka.
Bryan is a pretty normal dude. Very masculine likes to pull pranks. He can get a little childish which can make it so annoying. He doesn’t wash the dishes after he eats. He leaves the towel hanging everywhere, and he doesn’t separate his laundry, his music taste doesn’t even make the cut. I do love his thoughtfulness and how he takes care of me.
I stayed with Bryan until I finished my pre-med course. To celebrate me, Bryan and my friends went to Hawaii for vacation.
We were on the 5th day of our week-long trip when I got a whiff of a familiar scent. I was having breakfast at a local cafe, after Bryan bailed on me on a morning hike, feeling bombed I decided to explore myself. Bryan has been bailing on me the whole time and I wasn’t feeling it.
“Macy!” After years we haven’t really spoken that often.
“Bellamy! Oh goddess I miss you so much!” She then gave me a big hug. Still the same as before, cheeky little Macy.
Noticing that she was alone, I sat at her booth and gave my orders to a waiter.
“I just finished my pre-med degree so my friends and I went on a trip. How about you?” I asked.
“Well, Alpha Luka has been invited to attend a gathering on the island, so he brought along Trey and their friends, Trey brought me along. I’m actually just waiting for them to finish their morning run.” I was stunned. Luka is on the same island as me, after 4 years of avoiding him and anyone from the pack, this mate bond has finally found a way to bite me in the butt.
I then stood up and gathered my stuff. “Uhm, Sorry Macy I have to go.” I told her in panic.
“What so soon? But we just met. When are you going back to the pack to visit? I missed you so much.”
“I’ll give you a call.”
“Babe! I’m right, look how I found. Bellamy why don’t you stay and say hi.” Oh, Macy. Why did you put me in this trap?
I couldn’t run anymore and just decided to face it. I turned my back and saw Trey in his running attire all sweaty. He was surprised to see me.
“Look it’s Bellamy. You remember her from high school, right?” Macy said as Trey snaked his hands to her waist.
“Hey, haven’t seen you in a long time.” I gave him an awkward smile. I felt like I was pooping myself. Thinking the awkwardness couldn’t get worst Eric walked towards us along with Forrest, also surprised to see me. I pressed my lips to a thin line and then giving them an awkward grin.
“Hey, Luka! It’s Cross.” Eric shouted at the handsome man who just entered. If he was tone in high school, he was more buff now. I widened my eyes, signalling at Macy. She widened her eyes as well, realizing the situation. Luka quickly got the eyes of the locals in the cafe. He was walking towards us in his grey muscle tee and black shorts, holding a water bottle in one hand.
The air around me was now filled with the smell of ocean breeze. The best scent in the world. The smell I missed the most. We locked gazes and his eyes lit up with glee. He gave me the biggest smile and looked at me with longingness.
“Hello, Cross!” He said in his big manly voice.
“Hi” I gently said. “I have to get going now.”
“Ma’am your pancakes and your coffee.” The waiter said. It feels like everything doesn’t want me to leave at the moment.
“Don’t be in a rush you’re on vacation anyways.” The waiter put the food on the table along with Macy and the boys’ order. Before I could protest, Luka sat beside me.
“So, where have you been all this time?” Forrest asked.
“Studying. I just finished my pre-med.” I answered.
“You got skinnier. You should eat more.” Luka whispered as he put some strawberries on my plate.
“Are you coming to our wedding?” Trey asked.
“Wedding? Macy?” I turned to her and she showed me the ring.
“Oh my gosh! Congratulations! When is the wedding?”
“In 2 months. Don’t tell me you’re bailing on me again. You have to make up for all those years.” She complained like a 2-year old.
“I don’t think I can, I’ll be starting my med program by then. But I promise I’ll make it up to you.” I told her.
“There she goes with the excuses.” Macy rolled her eyes.
The people on the table were my bullies, but they seemed to have gotten over it while I’m here still trying to run away. Our conversation went on. Luka and I would awkwardly glance at each other, our elbows brushing as we ate. So many sparks.
A few minutes in, a man with his hands on a girl walked in. I exactly knew who that long-haired man is and was shocked looking at their interactions. I then slightly teared up and lowered my head.
“What’s wrong Bells?” Macy asked. Noticing the change in my mood. After years of friendship, we built quite a good rapport. She’d instantly know if something was up. The attention fell back on me now. I hooked my head and put my head down.
“Will you excuse me? ” I said as I stood up, Luka stood up to let me pass. Taking up all the courage I went to the table they were seated at.
“Bryan?” I said and both the couple’s eyes landed on me.
