Wedding Day Vampire
Chapter 61

She had had enough of this; she still had some things to take care of before she left this place. She couldn’t keep standing there and listen to the flimsy excuses Andrew was giving her. It was time to do the right thing, something she ought to have done long ago; be true to her feelings. She knew the person she had loved since the first day she set her eyes on him, but because of this bastard standing in front of her who clearly didn’t deserve her, she pushed him away. She pushed away Derick and now because of Andrew, he probably wasn’t going to speak to her again. She had never felt this stupid in her life.

Andrew getting married to someone else was the last thing she expected to happen, but like Dana had said, things happen in life that you can’t control. She didn’t wait for Andrew to finish speaking before she walked out on him. He might have been able to humiliate her, but she would never let him see her tears, ever.

She went back to meet Sandra who had been waiting for her and they both headed for her house.

As Joana left, Andrew closed the door before he was greeted by a big slap on his face from his wife who had eavesdropped on their entire conversation.

“You are a disgusting man,” she told him. And I regret why I ever married you.

She began to climb upstairs before she continued speaking.

“I’m getting a divorce, and I’m keeping the house. See you in court.”

Forever in our hearts.

Joana read what was written on her grandmother’s gravestone and that was when the real tears began to set in.

Sandra had brought her here, but didn’t want to enter the Woodenville cemetery at night, she agreed to continue in on her own. After all, there couldn’t be anything scarier than her in there.

“Are you sure you have to see her now? I mean we can just come over and see her tomorrow.”

“No,” Joana said. “I have to see her now; you don’t have to enter with me. I’m fine on my own.”

“Ok then, if you say so, I’ll be waiting for you outside.”

“Ok dear, I won’t take long.”

She went towards the direction Sandra told her grandma Jen had been laid to rest, and Joana found her grave not long after.

She dropped the little white daises she picked up for her on the way here. Grandma Jen loved them when she was still alive, and she was sure she would love them even in her death. She knelt in front of the grave and began to speak to her grandmother. It took a while for her to gather what she would say.

“Hello grandma, how are you?”

She tried to continue speaking while the tears continued rushing down. She thought she could handle this easy but she was wrong. The tears choked down the words but she knew she had to keep speaking so grandma Jen would hear her voice after so long and be at peace in heaven.

“This still feels like a dream, everything that has happened in the past one year. Grandma, you would never believe what happened to me on my wedding slash birthday, but I’ll tell you anyway; I turned into a vampire Grandma Jen, yes! At first, I thought it was strange, I didn’t believe it too at first but it happened. It turned out that vampires, dragons, spirits, trolls, and many other mythical creatures do exist. They live amongst us in disguise and they all belong to the world of the supernatural, and that’s where I’ve been in the past one year because being a vampire who couldn’t control her thirst for b***d, I could not live with the humans.

As she continued speaking, she noticed that the words began flowing more naturally and became easier to say. She imagined how grandma Jen would be laughing by now.

“While I was gone, I met the most amazing vampires, Dana, who was like an older sister to me, Derick, who became my secret lover, and Edmund and Hillary. I stayed with these people for a year, and they treated me like nothing but family, and because of Andrew, I pushed them away. I said hurtful things to them whenever they tried to convince me to stay with them. I thought that I would come back home to live with you and marry Andrew afterward, but now I see that your passing and Andrew’s betrayal is only a sign for me to continue to live in this new world I stumbled upon. Apart from the vampires I lived with, I also went on a lot of adventures and met other creatures from the supernatural world, I made friends with a whole town of pixies, I also made friends with a black dragon, Yin. I met a kind river spirit, and I also made friends with a little troll Katariina, who I helped in replaceing a new home in the enchanted forest.

“If you and dad ever want to take a break from watching over me and need to go on vacation, then I would certainly recommend Beijing, China. And yes, I went on vacation with my amazing friends there, and it was epic.

“This new life of mine was so great, but I was blinded by the love I thought I had for Andrew, that I was willing to throw it all away just like that. I also hurt the one I loved deeply because of him. I know that you and dad are my guardian angels now and I need to ask you a favor; please look for a vampire named Derick and help me tell him that the one he loves, Joana, loves him too and needs his forgiveness, I’ll try to tell him on my own too but I know he probably never wants to speak to me again. I hope you’ll tell him for me. I have to go now grandma; Sandra is waiting for me outside. I love you and even though you’re gone from this world, you and dad will forever remain in my heart.”
