Wedding Day Vampire -
Chapter 76
After that weekend at Johnnie’s parents’ house, I tried as much as possible to distance myself from his family, even though they began to visit him more regularly to replace out if I had any witchery going on. They always came during weekends and sometimes during the weekdays, his mom and his aunt most especially. I knew the reason why they were coming; to check to replace anything that would confirm their suspicions that I was a witch or that I had bewitched Johnnie so they could go and report to the king. They gave up when they couldn’t replace anything after a few weeks.
Alas I was finally free from his family, and now I could have more alone time with my Johnnie. More good things started happening to us as Johnnie, with the whole of his life savings, bought a small land in the town as he was tired of his job, and wanted to go into pig farming. We would both run the farm together, and I even agreed that I would help with night duties while he slept. He would build a small house by the edge of the land where we would later move to so it would be easier to farm, and I was more than happy to have something else to do besides staying in his little house all day.
We didn’t know that good luck was about to shine on us, as Johnnie, along with his friend Paul, one day discovered diamonds under the ground of the land he bought, while they were digging a foundation for the house we would live in. And that was how my Johnnie became very wealthy.
He didn’t need to go into pig farming anymore, as the value he got for the diamonds he sold was more than enough to start a more dignifying business; he began to buy and resell large mansions. And in less than a month after his discovery, he moved me out of that little house and into the mansion he just bought for us to live in. The mansion was located in the more exquisite parts of the town; in the area where the rich folk lived.
My Johnnie now became a business man, and I began to see less of him in the house. Don’t get me wrong, I was very happy for him, only that I loved it more when it was just the two of us, but now it wasn’t anymore as with all the good luck, the worst thing that I could have ever expected happened; against my pleas, Johnnie brought his whole family to come and live with us in the large mansion.
At first, they were minding their business and I thought that things would get along well until their witchery suspicions continued again. Now that they were closer to him, they had more time to brainwash him against me, I’m glad he stood his ground and never listened to them, but their constant hassles about me made Johnnie tired, and it began to tell on his health. It was his house, but it no longer felt like his when he would come home from stressful work hoping to rest, but only to see nothing but arguments. Most of the time he would have to sleep in a hotel just to get some peace and quiet, but that didn’t help matters when he knew that his house was always on fire.
After a while, Johnnie fell seriously ill, and his sickness was only another reason for his mother to blame me for witchery, it got to a point that I couldn’t take it anymore, at least if it were only for Johnnie’s health, then I would leave. I had to accept things the way they were; as long as I remained a vampire, me and Johnnie could never be happy together, leaving Johnnie’s house was the right thing to do, and so I went to tell my Johnnie goodbye before leaving. He was adamant and wanted to come along with me, he was even willing to leave behind all his wealth and his family to do so, but I couldn’t let him do that to them. Besides, his family would stop at nothing to make sure they found even if it was only his dead body, as he was an only child.
He let me go when I made him a promise that I would replace a way to make sure that the both of us would be together forever and that there would be peace once again. I then gave him a goodbye k**s before returning to the castle with tear-filled eyes.

Dana welcomed me back but the others were still pretty mad at me. I had to tell her the truth, that I was only going to be here for a while until I figured out a way to be with my Johnnie, she wished me the best and didn’t try to convince me to stay anymore. And that was how my search started. I spent many nights in that library looking for a way for me to blend in with the world of the natural so that Johnnie and I could live in peace.
After many months of searching, I stumbled on a book that talked about the supreme council, their awesome mightiness and how one could access their presence. Something in me then told me that I had found my answer.
