What Separates Me and You -
Chapter 67
Chapter 67 Who the Hell Does She Think She Is?
"Are you going to a meeting?" Sierra asked casually
Lewis responded with an affirmative grunt. His meeting was two floors down. The doors to the elevator soon opened, and he left.
The moment he left, Sierra's face darkened. She said nothing until they were in the second-level basement underground Once they were at a place where there were no security cameras, Sierra turned to look at Josephine
Josephine was carrying the box, so she could not see where she was going Sierra sneered and suddenly stretched her leg out in front of Josephine's feet.
Josephine tripped and fell over, sending the box flying. The items in the box splashed across the ground. Josephine lay there in the mess, her wrists and knees stinging
"Oh my, how could you be so careless? You can barely walk!" Sierra pretended to be surprised and looked at her "You rumed my stuff
Josephine pursed her lips tightly. The dust and dirt covered her face so much that she had to take a few deep breaths to collect herself. She got up and looked up at Sierra.
Sierra raised her eyebrows provocatively and said with a smile, "What are you looking at me for? Pick my things up!"
Josephine clenched her fists and glared at Sierra Seeing the smugness and provocation on Sierra's face, Josephine suddenly recalled the first time she met Sierra and how similar it was
to that moment
Someone bumped into her, and her stuff fell Sierra bent down in front of her, helping her to pick things up, and even said that she wanted to be her friend Josephine thought about how naive she was back then thinking that someone truly wanted to be her friend.
Sierra saw that Josephine was not budging. The smile on her face faded. "I know you're mute, but are you deaf too? I'm asking you to pick it up
Josephine pretended not to hear her and turned around, about to leave.
erra would never leave her alone. She grabbed Josephine by the arm. "Stop right there! Who ald you could leave?"
Josephine tried to shrug Sierra off to no avail. She turned around and glared at Sierra Ever Site Avery hat Sierra, her life had taken a 180-degree turn, all thanks to Sierra. She had lost her job, friends, and even Mrs Jinkins
At that thought, Josephine could no longer suppress her hatred for Sierra She suddenly shoved Sierra, not knowing where she had found the strength.
Sierra did not expect Josephine to attack her. In her three-inch heels, she stumbled and fell.
"Ah!"
Sierra was holding tight onto Josephine. When she fell, she brought Josephine down with her. They fell to the ground together, and Josephine was hurt the second time. This time, there was no box to cushion her fall, and she fell straight to the ground.
Josephine saw black, and her heart felt like it was about to pop out. Excruciating pain also came from her abdomen.
Sierra's feet were injured too. She could not get up after the fall.
"You bitch" Sierra clutched her legs. She was in so much pain that tears fell. "You're dead!"
Josephine bore through her pain and looked at Sierra. Her abdomen was also in so much pain that she could not stand, and she was sweating profusely.
Sierra took her phone out and dialed Lewis. She started whining to him in tears.
"That dumb mute whore! She shoved me! My ankle hasn't healed yet; it must be broken now...
Josephine said nothing, merely listening to Sierra distorting the facts.
Within five minutes, Lewis arrived. When he saw what a mess the scene was, he immediately walked over to Sierra and bent down. He helped her up. "What happened?"
Sierra buried herself in Lewis's arms, crying, "Ask her! I only asked her to carry the box. Why is she so mad at me? She threw the box, so I told her off. Then, she pushed me. If you're going to side with her, I can only call myself unlucky!"
Lewis heard what Sierra said, then turned to look at Josephine.
Josephine was already on her feet. She stared at Lewis, her face covered in dirt. She did not explain herself because, from the moment he walked toward Sierra, he had already made his choice. Her explanations would be futile.
"Can you stand?" Lewis retracted his gaze. Sierra shook her head. This was the second time.
that she had sprained the same ankle.
"I'll send you to the hospital so they can look at it."
"My things-" Sierra hugged Lewis around the neck and looked at Josephine like a wounded puppy. She was clearly not planning to let Josephine go that easily.
Lewis looked at Josephine. "Pick them up."
Josephine stood there with pursed lips, not moving.
Lewis could not be bothered with her. He directly ordered a secretary to come over.
"Watch her. She can leave only after she picks everything up."
Then, he carried Sierra to his car and drove away.
Josephine stood there in a daze, watching as Lewis's car vanished. It was as if he had never
been there.
While he did whatever it took to make her stay by his side, when it came to choosing between her or Sierra, he would always choose Sierra.
So, this was what it meant when he said he was going to care for her for the rest of her life? He said that it would be just like before.
It was no longer just like before. Lewis was undeniably a liar.
The secretary looked at Josephine with a complicated look. "Why would you offend Sierra? You do know that she's untouchable, right? Didn't Conrad tell you when you arrived? She is the light of President Alvarez's life."
Josephine retracted her gaze and smiled bitterly. Yes, Sierra was the light of his life. Who the hell did she think she was?
"I'll help you pick all this stuff up. Just remember to avoid Sierra the next time you see her, alright?" the secretary said while bending down to help Josephine.
Josephine clutched her abdomen in pain. She bore through the pain and put the items into the box.
When everything was collected, the secretary said, "Okay, just replace a place to put this box. I'll head up."
Josephine nodded and looked at her gratefully.
After the secretary left, she looked at the box on the ground for a long time. In the end, she
bent down and lifted the box.
The moment she lifted the box, a warm current flowed down her leg. She froze on the spot. She could clearly feel the warm feeling flow down her leg into her shoes.
She took a few deep breaths before bending down and placing the box on the ground. Then, she lowered her gaze and lifted her pant leg. The back of her shoe was dyed red with blood.
She clenched the box tightly. The pain in her abdomen made walking difficult for her. She was in so much pain she was trembling. In the end, she could no longer take it and slumped to the ground. Josephine took her phone out, but she did not know who to call. In the end, she opened an app
and hailed a cab.
She dragged her weak body outside of the office and waited. When the cab arrived, she took
out ber coat and placed it on the seat before getting in the car Then, she asked the driver to take her to the nearest hospital
Her
bdomen had been in pain for the past few days She could only bear the pain with the help of painkillers However, this time, it was way too painful.
Once she was in the emergency department, she finally felt relieved. She saw black and passed
out
